One year update I have lived in my house for 20 years. A stream runs under my basement floor, directed to drainage. When we bought the house we were told that needed to be rooted out once a year. Used various services throughout the years. Was told the pipe may be collapsed i would have to pay extra for the camera service. Even after the pipe was cleared if there was a heavy rain the pumps would run and the basement would still get wet. I had Wood's come out a year ago. Gave me a great price to clear the line and use the camera. 1st major point they were the only ones to root it from both ends. 2nd major point camera showed no damage to the pipe saving me thousands and tearing up my front yard. Plumbers fixed a major problem that another plumbing service screwed up. Did it quickly all fixed. Had major repair done to pipe leading to outside . Basement floor had to be dug up and repaired. They said there would be lots of noice. I heard nothing, job was done in around 2 hrs. Everything looks great, and I can't believe how in such a short time they fixed a major problem. I had a major sewer line replacement job (inside and out) that was turned down by several sewer service companies initially. It involved a front yard excavation that including digging underneath a huge concrete slab of a porch. These guys were fearless and accepted the job; they had no problem digging underneath my porch. Steve and Devin worked hard and diligently to excavate my exterior lines and replace them......Moreover, they also replaced my sewer lines internally which involved retrenching my basement floor, and then putting in new sewer lines. The 5 star rating for this place is real folks. I needed the wax ring around the toilet replaced. I called around. Prices were all over the place. GEM plumbing gave me a quote of 555+99 service fee. Other guys came in around 200ish. I called Woods last and they gave me a quote of 200. Scheduled for Monday but they told me that a crew was going out for an emergency call around my area and can just stop by on their way back home. Same day service. Awesome. My tenant said the crew was very professional and respectful. Got the job done for an awesome price. Can't beat that. Don't mess around looking for anyone else. I can't say much about the service. I tried scheduling a call, which I never received, and then I reached out to set up an in-home visit. The person I spoke with seemed knowledgeable and I was looking forward to their work, but when the time came, it was a no-call no-show. Its been weeks, and I have not heard from them. I cannot give Wood's Rooter Service enough stars, they were so great. I had a leak in my finished basement, which was so stressful and aggravating. After figuring out it was due to a clog, I called Wood's on a Friday night at 6:10 pm. I was concerned that with the blizzard coming the next day we were going to have an unfixed problem for several days. When I called, the owner picked up. I explained the problem. She gave the phone to her husband, Steve, who helped me diagnose the problem. He offered to dispatch a truck the very same night. I was so relieved. When the truck showed up, it was Steve's son. It's a true family business. Steve's son, Devon, was here from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday night doing everything he could between his 30 ft. and 50 ft. snake to unclog our line. Edited because it's the right thing to do. I was not given money to edit this. I wasn't happy that I was charged $450 for a messy job and what I thought was a wrong diagnosis. But It is only fair to say that after having the trap taken out (excavation) and the line into the house replaced, the trap was not rotted as thought. The line needed replacing, but the diagnosis was not technically wrong and these guys did their job. I had a backup into my basement utility sink. I called WRS at the suggestion of my plumber. They were very responsive and courteous and did give me some good tips about not putting any solids in the sewage until resolved. They snaked the line from the basement and could not get the snake through the u-shaped pipe ("crock" or vent) outside our old home. They made a disgusting sewage sludge mess in the basement. A bucket to catch anything that might come out of a pipe as it is detached would save everyone. As they removed the snake contraption from the basement, they also left a trail of dangerous sewage in our home. In my opinion, for $450 they could put some painters tarps down or at least warn the home owner to put something down. Not all of us have done this before! Next they tried from the outside. It was a cramped job under a front addition, and they had to cut the grate to the u pipe to snake from there. No luck. So then they came back in and forced water through the pipe, using my hose in the sewage pipe and did not clean it off. They did work hard and they were courteous. Thus 3 stars despite feeling over charged and the mess. read more

I'm pretty handy. Tackled the job myself in order to save some money. Well as those things go, it cost me more money in the end run. So where does Wood's fit into all of this you ask? Came onto yelp to research a drain cleaning company. The big guys I cut out immediately because they charge more for, "the name and the jingle". I chose Wood's because they only had one review (a 5star at that), and seemed like a family run business (it is). I called and I assumed an answering service answered (nope, it was mom). She was very pleasant, and thorough on what would happen. With out too much more tapping here. The plumber (owners son, Begins with a D) called me when he left his house to give me an eta. They beat original time by a half hour. He immediately saw the issue but found two more along the way. Grand scheme of things, they did a thorough job and were professional and extremely capable for the job and saved me on a beautiful Sunday mid afternoon. I will never rent a drain snake again. It will be Wood's and I know we can't elicit a "comfortable" feeling when your in a bind like that but they did. If you need help, I feel very comfortable recommending them. The city told me I had a broken sewer line and that I needed to have fixed. I first called a big company and made an appointment but had a funny feeling and when I checked Yelp their reviews were awful. I kept looking and found Woods. From the first hello they were helpful and tried to help right away. When they identified the problem they proposed a solution including having to hire an excavator to dig up the pipe, and worked to give me the best price possible. I have a friend in construction who was ready to help but even he could not match the Woods price. So excavation day came and five very pleasant men arrived first thing in the morning and worked about four hours to dig the hole and repair the pipe. When they were done they cleaned up the mess really well. I would definitely call Woods again and I would highly recommend them as well. read more

Very disappointed and honestly disgusted with the service. Called to have my bathroom toilet unclogged. I came back after they had gone, and realized they took my shower towel off of the hook, laid it on corner of my bathroom, and looks like they cleaned / wiped down their plunger with it...towel is now unusable and covered with unknown black substances. There was toilet paper left in our SINK, clumps of dirty paper all over the floor, and it seems like they even put their giant plunger in our SHOWER. Outright disgusting and disrespectful. I have never been so horrified walking into a bathroom, and the fact it was my bathroom in the comfort of my own home is appalling. I will never have them step foot in my house or recommend this company to anybody! So disappointed and absolutely GROSSED out. Absolutely rancid treatment of my home. read more

Excellent service! Called Steve before 7am on a Monday morning with a badly clogged toilet and shower drain. I know nothing about plumbing but he was able to ask me questions that I could answer and told me how to shut off the water to the toilet. Even though it wasn't a huge job in the grand scheme of things, he said he'd have a truck here at 9am. Promptly at 9am, Andrew and Joe were at my door. They were so polite, so professional, and so good in explaining the situation. I couldn't ask for better service. They even recommended a company to do the clean up in my basement (who called me within 30 minutes of their leaving!). Highly recommend. They came same day, came earlier than expected, and cleaned out my main line in a very timely manner. Prices are on par for clean-outs from another local guy I used in the past (don't call the big rooter companies, they are more money and you're not supporting local). Camera inspection was cheaper than the guy who inspected my line 2 years ago. If youre concerned about them using your garden hose to pressurize the line or if you have a finished basement then maybe specify that first, I didn't care since they prevented my main line from completely backing up, something that would have been way more costly than a garden hose lol. I didnt need it, but noticed on the van's door advertising "no extra fee for emergency service" which seems like good measure to keep note of when thinking of a place to call at 3am. I will be working with WRS again if needed. read more
