Mongolian grill is popular. Fries. Chicken strips. Burgers. Chili. Salad bar. Sandwiches. Some limited booze options. The seating here is limited for sure. Outside lots of tables and chairs too that allow you to enjoy the view. Prices are stupid but that's to be expected. They now have self checkout to put ease lines. They seem simple. Need a break from m skiing or snowboarding, then stop by at Cliffhouse at Buttermilk mountain. It's great to grab a soup, hot noodle bowl, burger, and adult beverages!!! The kitchen usually closes around 2:45 pm since the lift closes at 3:30 pm which is earlier than other ski resorts. There is beer, wine, and alcoholic sparkling water like white claw. The setup is more of a cafeteria, but there is a wait staff that are constantly cleaning the tables. The views at the Cliffhouse are breath taking whether you are sort tag inside by the window or enjoying a meal out door. There are also plenty of restrooms at the restaurant and areas to sit and take a break. read more

We love this place ! After half a day of skiing eating at a cliff house will help you restore all your energy . They have variety of yummy food selections. Very efficient system . The Cliffhouse at the Top of Buttermilk Mountain has great food options, including healthy ones, which is rare for an on-mountain lodge. The lodge has your standard ski lodge food options like burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, pizza, chili, soups, sourdough soup bowls, etc. Salads are available, and are ok, but not great. And they do have a fresh juice bar which is nice. And the lodge is exceptionally clean and tidy. But what I love and think is great, is the ability to get good quality Asian food - Vietnamese Pho Soup, Pad Thai, as well as a Mongolian BBQ Wok. And the servers making the Pho are actually Vietnamese which is nice as well. Now, it's Not the Best Pho I've ever had, and you pick your own ingredients from a self-serve bar, but I think for being at 10,000 feet, at the top of a mountain in the middle of Winter, it's a pretty cool option to have. You rarely have the ability to get unique, healthy and tasty options like this at other ski mountains, especially on the East Coast. Most mountains in the East and West, with the exception of high end resorts (Aspen, Telluride, Sun Valley, Whistler, etc), just have standard Sysco-type food - packaged burgers, hot dogs, pizza, etc. So, it's great to have something healthy to eat instead. Not to mention, the FABULOUS VIEW you have sitting on the outdoor deck overlooking the Aspen Highlands mountain across the valley, and Pyramid Peak mountain in the far distance. Probably the BEST PANORAMIC VIEW from any of the Lodges in Aspen/Snowmass. And yes, it's pricey, but everything is pricey at ski resorts and given that you're in Aspen, don't expect a budget lunch - expect to pay around $20 per person for lunch (most food items are $8-$15, plus drinks, tax, etc.) If you're looking for budget, there are plenty of lower-end ski resorts in the country to visit, not here though. Hamburger was way over cooked. I replaced it with one off the grill. It was equally overcooked and dry. No way worth $17. My wife got Mongolian grill and wasn't impressed either. Beer wasn't bad. read more

Great place on the top with a Mongolian grill to boot. There's a beautiful sun deck to sit and bask in the sun along with enjoying the stupendous view. The bathrooms are super clean, and service in the store and restaurant are great. read more

Bathrooms are downstairs so make sure you are not feeling wobbly when ready to go... View outside of neighboring highlands is beautiful and like much of Buttermilk is under-rated by the status hungry "must-ski-Ajax" crowd. read more
