It was a nightmare situation as a previous contractor broke it and left me abandoned and my main water supply wouldn't turn off so I could literally not sleep for 24 hours as I had to empty a bowl every 30 to 60 minutes (the supply valve is low so it would not accommodate anything larger underneath) or it would flood and ruin the new flooring that was just installed. It did ruin my brand new baseboard that I had just had installed the day before. He kept blaming me saying by turning the giant nut I somehow ruined the pipe which I don't understand but I did everything to try and loosen the bolt under urgent and impossible conditions and stress and I found no special instructions or tool that specified one as a necessity to use on it in all my research or that I had done anything wrong, but it had been there for 30 years and was fused on tight and wouldn't budge even with two vise grips. With the flooding happening I was desperate to get it removed so I thought that his continuous commentary was strange. He also said I had to loosen that nut clockwise as if it were reversely threaded but discovered that was not the case multiple times in my research so again I'm very confused. If something had been critically missed I wish he would've at least told me or made it clear what my alternative was otherwise assigning blame does little good; I am not an experienced plumber. I did not see nor was ever shown how he ultimately removed it so the whole point was moot. He walked off with my channel locks which I informed him of immediately after he left. He said he didn't have it then the next day he said he did but that he couldn't return them until after I left the area for a couple weeks at which point I told him he could drive out to my house. Luckily he changed his mind and returned them that morning as it really isn't my responsibility to retrieve them. I had been thru two days of hell from the previous contractor with 8 hours sleep over three nights. But he did the job and it took him no more than 15 to 20 minutes. There's a really big gash in my wall now where the valve is but I guess he had to do that to cut the pipe. I will have to find a wall cover plate or something to hide it or else patch it up. I then had to call another contractor to check the toilet seating as the flooring installer who left me with the leaking supply valve was supposed to handle it but did not do it right. Ultimately I had to hire three contractors in 36 hours for the same bathroom.

I was referred to MF Plumbing by someone over on NextDoor local communities. I am a retired…read morebusiness owner, and I know the importance of building referrals. It is always best to choose a local business who's owner is also an operator, as is this business. That said, I called the main number and left a message. We had a clog somewhere in our system and water was backing up in our bathroom. Within a few minutes I received a call back and made an appointment for the next day between 10-12. Mario arrived a few minutes after 10. I took him in and we talked about the back up inside, then took him our to our septic system. He looked around for a few minutes and told me just where he through the clog was. With one tank cover off, he sent his snake through one of the inlet pipes, and all at once the waste water whished through the main pipe and the clog was cleared. We also have a dump pipe for our travel trailer, which he snaked to clear out. Within 45 minutes we were up and flowing as good as new. Before he left, he said he wanted to check our septic tank filter, which was also clogged. He cleaned that out, too. To say that were were happy with the service AND the bill would be an understatement. His work is top notch and he is a very friendly person to work with and talk to. We called them again Nov 2023 for shower filter cartridge replacement. Two people came, 1 male and 1 female, and they said they have to buy the parts. They came back and replaced the cartridge for less than 1 hour and charged us $275 without any details on the receipt except shower cartridge replacement. We thought the charge was very high especially since they didn't explain what was wrong, what they replaced, and the cartridge is 40$ on amazon. We paid didn't have the chance to ask the details about labor cost and materials. I called and left a voice mail and requested a call back for breakdown of the charge. They didn't call me back. The shower was fixed but I had a feeling of not fair trade after they left. The most important thing is that trust feeling as a customer that a fair trade of payment and services occurred, as an example, the people we like to work with again would explain what they did, will have an itemized listing of what was done, would explain what will happen and roughly how much it would cost before they start the work, so there is transparency in everything but sadly, none of those happened and I didn't feel the trust and fairness after the service.

The inspection was scheduled in a few days and I had three MINOR plumbing issues which needed to be addressed. But for lack of the proper tools I could have done it myself. Two service men arrived, I showed them the work and the supplies I had in place. The apparent supervisor had an agitated look on his face and I can only speculate that he was frustrated a few opportunities to pad the bill so when I asked for the estimate he gave me what I considered a wildly unreasonable quote for labor of $230 and a few parts. When I questioned his bid pointing out it was pretty easy work that wouldn't take long he became aggressive and loud. As I was kinda in a spot, I told him to go ahead with the work and that for the remainder of his time on my property I expected to be spoken to in a professional manner. I allowed the second tech into the house to do the work needed, wanting Mr. Smart Mouth to remain outside. The conversation with the second tech was pleasant. The work was done to my satisfaction and took about 30 minutes. Now the average rate for a plumber is about $65/hour. How was it that for one hour of labor I had to pay $230? Is this reasonable? In my opinion, it isn't. The topper was after paying Mr. Smart Mouth (outdoors) and the work was done I was in my house feeling gouged but glad it was over. I turn a corner and there is Mr. Smart Mouth in my hallway. No ringing of the bell, no permission to enter... He said he wanted to make amends and to be honest I was not interested in the least. He said he had called my real estate agent and was offering me $21 back. WHAT? You called my real estate agent to tattle? You 5'5" (ish) little bundle of aggression, act all dominant and at the end of the day you are about as tough as little girl. Amends were not made. It isn't just about money. I don't take being spoken down to by anyone let alone a humonculus that I am paying. My suggestion, learn some ethics and when being a bully doesn't pan out for you try some manners.
