- good Thai chili wings - good service - while active, the music from Thursday night was all over the place - $5 jose cuervo shots on thursdays - I liked the watermelon rose, but they were kind of weak - plenty of open space read more

Rooms are extremely small . When I arrived my room was dirty. There were splatters on the wall, dirty/stained sheets and bathroom not clean. Management was notified and only offered to clean the room again. Management was less than customer- friendly. They have a sister hotel around the corner which is newer. The location is great . The beach is across the street and the hotel connects to a night club. I would not stay here again read more

Came as a group of 5 for a bachelorette party. We had bottle service and a table. The service was really slow - we waited forever to get our champagne. Also, the appetizers were not great (nachos and mozzarella sticks). But, everyone who worked there was friendly. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you actually want to swim - the pool is tiny. The place is also not particularly clean, there's dirty water everywhere. The music was great though! There was a DJ and she was great, and so was the emcee. It's a fun environment but just know what you're getting into. read more

Came here to ring in my 29th birthday! We got here around 11pm so we could have drinks at midnight to celebrate. There was no line and just a few people in and around the bar. There was HOWEVER already a girl puking her brains out into a nearby trash can but hey it was also spring break so go girl. The bartender (wish I had her name!) was so nice and made amazing drinks! I got this berry lemonade vodka type drink and it was delicious! I wish all places could make this drink. It was dangerous. I had about 4 in an hour. She also made me a complimentary birthday shooter. By 1am it was getting pretty packed and the DJ had the jams flowing. We wanted to stay longer but we could feel the rain starting to drizzle so we decided to leave around 1:30am. Will definitely be back! I love the set up and how spacious it is. It seems like a super fun place! read more

The Hotel is party central. If that's what you are looking for, look no farther. If you book a room and decide you want a more quiet experience, the staff is more than accommodating. They have a sister property called Essex House and they will send you there and help make you more comfortable. The music plays until around 3 am. It's very quiet, safe and peaceful there. Shout out to the staff Chris and Michelle, and the others at the Essex. Very cool people and very friendly! Take plenty of plastic for your Miami Beach experience. Awful experience. This hotel is very different from the pictures. Our room was gross, stinky and dirty, so was the hotel. No front desk upon arrival and the hotel door was locked. The bed had no sheets and the pillows were super thick and uncomfortable. The staff were slamming the doors for hours while cleaning in the morning. We booked this through capital one travel where it was falsely advertised as a 4 star hotel with gorgeous rooms. It was hardly a 3 star hotel. We left the next morning and it caused major inconvenience in our short trip. read more

*For the food only!* We spent a great Saturday lunch outside of the Clevelander. the food was perfectly fine - nothing crazy and not especially exciting. We split a bbq chicken pizza and the hot honey chicken sandwich. They were definitely pricier than they should have been and it felt like we were in a tourist trap, but sitting outside was a lot of fun! read more

Update: This place fraudulently signed a transaction I paid cash for; essentially double dipping. Will be reporting this to the BBB. Shame on this place. Bottom line This place has a very lush and vibrant scene -- yes, even in COVID-19! But the prices here are exorbitant and IMO not enough to justify the visit unless money is of no object. On a Friday or Saturday night be prepared for long wait times and cover charges too. Be wary of their 'hidden charges' policy. It's absolutely insane! As a consumer, I always want to be informed exactly what the costs of everything are. That's why there's a menu, and I can compare and contrast. Well, if you're knew to Miami Beach, consumers have to adjust to 'hidden fees' that might be levied against them. We're beyond sales tax, but 'resort fees' 'service fees' and whatever else you wanna call it. Some charge between an extra 5-20 percent. And then there's Clevelander. And get this: You're charged an additional 30% surcharge, resort fees, just because. To add insult to injury, on some days Clevelander will also levy a cover charge. This place is outright committing highway robbery. So that eight dollar inflated bud light costs now eleven and twelve dollars. If you're not too careful you easily drop over a hundred dollars for a few drinks that normally would cost you thirty or forty bucks in total and just about any other restaurant. And since bartenders have absolutely no incentive to hustle since they're essentially being tipped 15-20% no matter what, this actually hurts customer service in the long run. Yeah, it's a complete ripoff. But the scene is actually interesting; especially on Sunday game days. You get people coming here of all flavors, shapes and sizes. The majority are tourists, but you also get a good crowd of natives here as well. Not gonna lie, It's actually a pretty good place to meet people of the opposite sex and possibly get their number to hookup later -- assuming that's your thing. Update: I had an extra 30$ mysterious charge to my credit card. Gonna have to contact my CC to clear that up. read more

We walked miles (yes probably 2 miles lol) along South Beach to get to the Clevelander. This is a pretty cool place! Managed to hit happy hour at 4pm so there were drink specials and $8 appetizer/picky foods. They get you on the drinks.... special might be $6 but they ask you if you want the $2 extra alcohol shot. Otherwise you're drinking just a sugar drink I think... hmmm... But who cares. We had fun! It's a great place to people watch. There are also cool cars cruising up and down the street. Service was great. Just watch it when you get your bill - they automatically add in 18%, then still suggest a tip at the bottom. read more

I've been to The Clevelander several times, but it's been 15 years since my last visit. We stayed for 7 nights, on this visit...and decided to watch the UFC fights, on our last night, at Kush. I cant say enough about our amazing experience!!! The food was great. The fights were on more tv's than we could count. And most importantly...our bartender Renata was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!! Even beyond her excellent drink-making skills...she took to most amazing care, of my lady, who was feeling kinda sickly...after a week of indulging!! If we didn't already have a dozen reason to return...we'd easily come back, to be lovingly pampered by Renata!!! Give that Hungarian angel a raise!!!!!! Idk what to say. Comparing July 2021 to July 2009, Clevelander was surreal. There wasn't a night when the bar wasn't packed with a line to get in -- day or night -- once upon a time. Man, COVID has really hit these tourist spots. But, I'll be fair and review this place in an appropriate 2021 context. With that said, tip your servers well!!! Went looking for a spot to grab a drink and a bite. DJ was good, so we stopped in. Decided to get salads.... needed to get some greenery and roughage for a change :) Both salads were surprisingly good, considering the whole menu has elevated bar food vibes. Large portions on the salad too!! As always, good people watching right on Ocean Dr. Good music & drizzling breezy weather. Not a bad way to end a Tuesday. read more

Drinks were weak tasked like sugar water and was lied to when came in, was told can ask to change music. We could not have been more disappointed in this hotel. We have visited South Beach many times over the past 4 years. This hotel is the worst. We found hair in the room. The pool is so cloudy & dirty you couldn't see the crud on the bottom {see pics} We were solicited three times in one day for illegal drugs on their property. It was loud no matter where you went in the hotel. This hotel is not by any means on par with the other hotels in the area. There are so many better choices when visiting South Beach. We tried to discuss our concerns with Mariano the manager on site but he said the hotel was full and they couldn't make any exceptions for our requests. Make note of this before you book Hotel in South Beach. They choose not to accommodate their guests needs. read more

I visited in January and Yelp has been nudging me to leave this review, so here I am, mainly because I was so put off by my visit here most recently. My sister and I wanted to have an afternoon drink one weekday and so we figured we would stop by here. Shortly after, our parents also joined us. Suddenly, it started pouring buckets, so we kind of got stuck here. No big deal right? Wrong! We decide to order food and some more drinks since we are stuck. The thing that really annoyed me the most was the "complimentary extras" on two of the many appetizers that we ordered to share. We order the wings and the nachos. The waitress "threw in" beef on our nachos and celery, carrot, blue cheese, and ranch for our wings. Awesome right? No. When they bill came she charged us for all the "complimentary extras" that she added on her own. The reason why it really bugs me is because we spent close to $300 here during torrential downpour when barely any other patrons were there. There was no need to add all that extra and charge us for things we didn't ask for. I honestly just paid the bill with no question because I didn't want any bad vibes. However, as a grown ass woman, I will not return here to be taken advantage of. It's honestly obscene. read more

The location is great and ambiance is eye catching. I came here strictly for drinks and was highly disappointed. A friend and I were sharing the 45oz drink w two extra shots and it was WEAK. We pretty much paid $60 for juice only. The fact that two girls did not get a buzz with a 45oz shows the lack of alcohol. Extremely disappointed! read more

The Clevelander is a pretty cool bar that really gives you that South Beach vibe. The area of the outdoor bar is unique with fun lighting and that retro font. There are two bars, a pool, and lots of seating. I happened to go on a few days where it was cold- so I really appreciated the heat lamps they had all around. On my first visit, I ordered the frozen pina colada- which was a huge waste of money. There was zero alcohol in it which was so uncool considering it was expensive. It really bummed me out, so I stayed away from their frozen drinks and stuck to the beer specials for the rest of the trip. So how did they still earn 4 stars with me? Their pizza! It was such a awesome surprise and I really can't recommend trying it enough! When I ordered it- I really wasn't expecting something that would delight my taste buds. But by golly was it good! I purposely ate it really slow, just so that I had more time to enjoy it. The pizza was drizzled with a balsamic sauce and it was really out of this world. I'm hankering to find something similar home in NYC now. The servers were generally friendly and they had good music playing. Being so close to the beach is pretty rad too. I'll be back for the pizza. read more

Absolutely the worse service for drinks and eats. Security folks at the entrance having people lift their shirts (woman included) above their belly is laughable. Meanwhile you could have a weapon in your back or ankle and never have it detected. Security folks are a joke and rude to customers. Waitress for our table during a slow time was horrible, meanwhile, you have three bartenders all on their cell phones while customers are waiting to be served. The automatic built-in tip only results in piss poor service because they don't have to truly work for their tips. I wouldn't go back to this hole if I were paid. read more

If I could give less then a 1 I would. We had to beg for a waitress on a Monday night who didn't understand that we wanted to pay cash right away and close bill. She never came back at all. A 21% service fee for no service is ridiculous. I am a bartender and I understand if it was busy. It wasn't busy at all and there were multiple Workers everywhere. The pitcher of hurricane was EXTREMELY WEAK I would say basically no liquor $55 and $72.54 after 21% is down right crazy for the service and alcohol that we got. read more
