Fantastic food service and ambiance at the in house bar - restaurant for the Marseilles Hotel. Note the outdoor part is called Chloe's Patio and the indoor part The Backyard, but it's the same kitchen and fantastic service for both. 5 star service: at both the patio portion and the interior bar portion, staffers were friendly and efficient. I think everyone who worked there may have asked if all was good. 5 star food: berry and spinach salad with grilled chicken in it was out of this world. Woooah there the drinks we ordered were sweet and had us leaning like crackheads after a few sips. Barely made it back to our hotel without me slipping out of my TB chancleta . 3 stars because the kitchen was closed way too early in the day. Thanks to Yelp, I found this little gem. Located behind the Marseilles hotel, you can order food to go and immediately walk out a few steps to the beach to enjoy your meal. The bartender was so kind. Didn't catch his name, but he had a beard and was just so chill. Great service! The grilled chicken sandwich was juicy and the patty was large! It included a thick slice of grilled pineapple. VEGAN REVIEW Ate here both at the bar & beach service. GREAT drinks. Friendly bartenders. As for the bar, fun vibe. We were there on a very busy weekend (hotel was hosting an event), so it was hard to flag down our server-- shout out to Amanda, the hardest working girl in South Beach! At the beach, I think it's just 1 server for the whole section! So again, our girl AMANDA was hustling. They do a pretty good take out set up for you. There are a handful of vegan options. Had the impossible burger & the avocado corn salad. The sweet potato fries are really good! To be honest, I wasn't expecting much when I ordered this sandwich on the beach. However, it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was grilled nicely and not dried out, and the pineapple, tomato and lettuce were all fresh. The Backyard itself is a very cute space with tables where you can order and dine. I opted for beachside service, which took a bit of time, but the food was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised, and I'd recommend checking it out if you're in South Beach. read more

Oh I love this place. We stopped in for food and drink on our way to South Beach as we waited on friends to arrive. It is located behind Marseilles Beachfront Hotel and has a unique vibe. Although it is a bar it has some non traditional bar fare. I had the Crab sliders nd Truffle fries both were great. We also had wings at the table and BBQ chicken pizza. Only con was that the sweet potato fries were not seasoned and not really very warm. Service was good and drinks were very cold and refreshing. This review is for the events team! We had a very short notice semi private event for 70 people and the process was incredible. The team was so positive, helpful, and seemingly glad to have us. From planning to day-of, all details were so easy and clear. The food was amazing and the cocktails were a hit for our group. Our group had an amazing time. I'm scared to even post this because I'm afraid this good thing I'm about to tell you will come to an end but: they have the best happy hour. Period. You're probably like, "Yeah, whatever. Everyone says 'best happy hour'", but when this happy hour is FREE, you best believe it's the best. Happy hour is literally just an hour between 6-7pm where you can get a free well drink of choice and enjoy it in their fabulous outdoor space. They have hammocks. Hey have lounge beds. They have fooseball. It really is like a magical backyard bar. And even after this magical hour, you can enjoy some very tasty specialty drinks for a great price. Cute little spot inside the Marseilles hotel. I like the vibes, the bartender was super sweet (though swamped with HH goers) and the areas were clean. Happy hour was great I'm not sure of the exact times but I know it ended at 7pm and it was $1 per drink they had listed. Wells really, but who's mad! My biggest problem though was there was no music, and it closed at 8, I was just getting started! And ready to order more full priced drinks... unfortunately we were kicked out. read more

The scummy behavior of the employees of this business would have resulted in it shutting down a long time ago if it were situated in a smaller town. Unfortunately, the workers of this establishment are well aware of the fact that no matter what they do they will always receive an endless supply of tourists, giving them carte blanche to be as insolent and audaciously greedy as possible. I had been at an event there where it was an open bar, as I was getting ready to head out I asked the bar tender for a bottle of water, they were just beginning to close and put things away. When I asked, they said no with a passive aggressive and dismissive behavior - without reason or explanation - and quickly hauled the bar cart back to the bar. I wasn't sure if they had understood the question since they barely spoke a word of English, I reconvened with them near the bar and asked again, pointing at the water bottles. Again they responded no, and this time irritatedly commanded me to go to the bar. This was followed by an "Oh my god" which they thought I hadn't heard. They then proceeded to quickly remove the pack of water bottles and quickly stash them in the kitchen fearful that I might steal one, not even caring about the fact that if I were actually a thief I could have just grabbed the bottle of wine that was at the top of the cart. I went to the bar, waited ten minutes only for the bar tender to tell me with a smirk on his face that what was less than a couple minutes ago a free bottle of water, was now selling for $4.00. read more

Do not go here. Horrible drinks. Horrible service. Horrible food. I'm not sure who they paid to write these positive reviews, but they're not accurate. Waited 20+ minutes for drinks to come out. They brought us a different table's food order. It sat on our table for 10 minutes and was then taken to the kitchen for a minute, then delivered to a table near us. Food was edible, but not worth the time waiting around or money. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. read more

This place is great. They have an amazing pool area where you can lounge on mattress sized floaties with your girls or boys. The bar area is very cute and chic and there's a lot of other life sized games you can play. There's cute little lounge chairs everywhere and it has the right amount of shade to cover you from the sun. Love this place! read more

This place was so great! A friend an I couldn't find a place to eat on the beach and this was the perfect option. The service and staff was incredible our food came out in just a few minutes. The bartenders were nice and we were so happy to eat on the beach and enjoy the day. I got a lobster roll and it was a nice size and very good. Truffle fries too! Definitely go here. read more

If you have no concept of time, it's fine. If you like things in a timely manner, wouldn't recommend. Seems like one server for all the tables. Took 10 min to get the first round. Waited over an hour and ended up leaving before we got food. Waitress was nice, just didn't have a system to back her effort. Didn't use the pools, so might be a different experience. read more

Their happy hour is the best around! Only a short happy hour from 6-7pm but totally worth it! Free well drinks and cheap specialty ones. Lots of areas to hangout and relax. My girlfriend and I are from Orlando and drove down to Miami for my birthday. We stayed next door from this bar at the South Seas Hotel. The happy hour at backyard bar was a thousand times better than the one at our hotel! Nothing beats a FREE happy hour from 6-7pm. They also had ping pong and several other games. Years ago I'd come here after the beach, sit on the balcony, people-watch, and cool off with a strong, frozen drink. In that sense, the place is exactly as I remember, with cold drinks on a hot Miami day and a fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, the billing experience completely changed how I felt about our visit. When the check arrived, I noticed the suggested tip percentages were unusual (around 7%, 8%, and 9%). I was planning to leave my normal 20% tip, but then the gentleman behind the bar explained that a 15% gratuity had already been added and the listed percentages would be additional. To be clear: I always tip, and I generally tip well. But adding a gratuity without authorization or clearly disclosing it up front is a big deal. A tip is supposed to be voluntary, and quietly including one, especially in a setting where you're already prompted to add more, feels misleading and wildly inappropriate. That part honestly overshadowed the visit for me. The drinks and the memories are still there, but check your bill carefully before paying. I enjoyed the nostalgia, yet this practice alone makes me hesitant to return. This practice of discretely tipping themselves is borderline theft.

My wife and I got married at The EDITION and had our welcome party here. Two hours of open bar in a roped off area with two signature cocktails being poured at all times...it was amazing. The bartenders themselves absolutely know what they are doing and I've never been poured a cocktail that wasn't perfect or close to perfect. The espresso martini is definitely a go-to but I'm also a big fan of their old fashioned and my wife loves the ginger margarita. Come for the drinks, stay for the vibe.
