We had such a great time at this rooftop pool. We came for a Pride event and it was so much fun! Everyone was vibing to the music, the dj was awesome. The service was good, it sucks that there is only 1 bar that accepts card. The 1 bar that accepts card was also kinda hidden and a mission to get in and out of. The other bar is cash only which was a bit annoying. The pool was nice! It looked very clean. To get to the rooftop you have to take an elevator which was a little old school. We were instructed to hold the button until we got to our floor, it was a bit slow. Other than those little hiccups, our experience was nice and it is a great spot to hang out with friends. The event was on a Sunday and lasted from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. They were pretty punctual for last call and everyone was heading out on time. If you are in the area, you should totally check this spot out. read more

Came up to the awesome rooftop pool after spending a nice day at the beach. We came right on time for happy hour and ordered the mango margarita and the regular margarita with chips and guac. The bartender was so awesome and super nice but she was of course working alone and doing SO much. For $8 you can get a margarita during happy hour M-F 3-7pm which is awesome. That said, the margies were pretty average and tasted like they were made out of a margarita mix. The guac was very onion forward so it was hard to enjoy but it's nice for a poolside snack for only $8. Other than that, great poolside bar, you can sunbathe, enjoy the sunset and soak up the breeze with a drink in your hand laying down and enjoying the vibes. read more

Amazing rooftop bar and hotel!! Booked 2 rooms for the night at the Dream South Beach. The rooftop bar was awesome. Heated pool, full bar, clean and beautiful, AMAZING STAFF!! The front desk was so helpful, friendly, and accommodating! The building had a brief AC outage during the overnight of our stay, and they volunteered to refund our resort fee without us asking for it. The front desk, valet, butlers, and hotel/food and beverage crew were top notch! We will return !! read more

Like my friend hosting our little get-together herself said, "You live and you learn". In my particular case, and given my experience with their lobby restaurant, I guess I needed special education. A couple of friends hosted their "Rooftops with Friends" series at this location partly based on the fact that their website showed also nighttime events happening. When we all get there 8pm or thereabouts we were practically the only people there. While it's great to have your own bartender in concept, it's not when you have to remind about your drink or food. While my mojito was semi-decent with the mint leaves and pour, it wasn't sugar cane stick authentic. You know it has to lose points for that. Since I was hungry after a full day of work, I ordered a burrito from the Naked Taco restaurant in their lobby..and waited. I had to remind the bartender to check on my order. My food was eventually brought out in the type of container I expect from a fonda in Hialeah or a roach coaches at one of my construction sites - definitely not South Beach and 18% automatic gratuity glam. To his credit, the bartender did say the automatic gratuity was included. Lesson learned.. read more

My sister and I visited the High Bar for happy hour on Thursday afternoon. The view here is great, nice pool, and fun music. We got the happy hour margaritas which were tasty and a good deal. The bartender was by herself but Erika did a great job getting us all drinks and food. The spicy guava jalapeno and lavender tequila margaritas were delicious! The pool attendant Justin also needs to be recognized for his great customer service and proactive work ethic. There was a part in the evening when not that many people were coming in to get towels from him, so he took it on himself to pour water for all the guests sitting at the cabanas and chairs, which was so thoughtful because alcohol and sun can cause some problems! The highest of bars, and funnily enough, a mistake to find myself in. While trying to venture and meet friends at Naked Taco, I headed a few steps (and an elevator) in the wrong direction. Once you get to the roof there is a guy with a list verifying if you are a hotel guest or just going to the bar, if you are not a hotel guest, you are not allow to go to the pool side of the roof. We recently went to a Halloween party at Highbar, which is in the Dream Hotel in South Beach and we had an amazing time. It's a rooftop bar/lounge with a pool, oh so very Miami! Contrary to its name, Highbar is not that high... it's probably on the 5th floor if I'm not mistaken but the views are still great. All those art deco buildings aren't really that high anyway and nothing really obstructs your view. The drinks are a little on the pricier side... but comparable to most South Beach bars. The free tapas were great and not just because they were free; they have great mini burger sliders. The venue is beautiful , kudos to the party organizer! read more

I pretty much lived here while staying at Dream hotel. With your stay you receive beach towels, chairs/couch access anytime. Famous and Ana assisted me each time, always greeting me with a smile and taking care of me by setting up the space to lay out, and bringing around flavored water to help stay cool. I loved the pool size, the music and squeaking clean bathroom. A perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun! They have HH everyday, 2 for 1 specials on their cocktails. I consider myself a happy hour hunter, I accidentally found this place while looking for a pool bar. Usually, you don't find both at the same spot. BOGO specials, the naked taco is downstairs, and you can order from the bar. Thankfully, the bartenders know how to make a margarita with a smile. I'll definitely recommend High Bar to my friends, drinks are good and service is great. Usually when the tip is included, service sucks, that is not the case here. There isn't much wrong with a rooftop poolside bar, especially when it's only a short flight of stairs from my hotel room. What docked stars for me was the price (all signature cocktails were $13, basic Tangueray and tonic was $11) vs the quality. While my signature cocktail was tasty, it didn't pack much of a punch. Womp. I expect high prices in South Beach, but there just wasn't anything alluring enough about this place to make me want to come back. They do a 2 for 1 deal for "happy hour" (it actually runs much later than that) so you'll get your money's worth then, although when the sun goes down so does the primary reason for hanging out here. read more

Very unpleasant experience: Do not go if you're not staying at the hotel****** After I was fully unpacked and laying someone (the manager), came over to me and asked for my room number since I didn't have one he asked me to leave... when I asked if we could spend money on alcohol to stay being one of the only places with a rooftop pool and he said no.... then I said I was upset and said I'd write a bad review he then proceeded to say go ahead we'll have less people coming here that don't belong. read more

It's getting to the point where I don't see a difference between Club A and Club B or Bar A and Bar B in South Beach. It's not that I don't mind a uniformity for all the establishments, but I just don't see much of a distinction. Here's the checklist: A) Loud music. Ironically, from a business standpoint, I actually know why the music is as loud as it is. The answer is rather simple, there is something in human physiology that causes us to consume more food and/or alcohol when the music is loud. Is that a bad thing? Well, not for businesses who overcharge for their drinks (see further down on the checklist). I'm not looking for awkward silence, but you shouldn't need to have to shout at the person next to you to talk to them. B) Infinity pool. Just like opinions, everyone seems to have one. They look cool, but for the most part, that's about it. They are just pools. Squared, circular, whatever shape you want them to be, they are still just pools. C) Mono-color. Highbar is mostly white. Other clubs are mostly black, or red, or blue, or some color. I'm not saying that the mono-color is bad. I think white is probably the best choice of all the colors, but it just feels cookie cutter after a bit. D) Illusion of exclusivity. Oooh. A private elevator that can only be accessed via a hidden doorway. Meh. E) Overpriced drinks. This is a staple of South Beach. You really can't go anywhere (on South Beach) without paying higher prices for mediocre options. I do recognize that if a bar or club wants to keep a certain clientele out, they need to keep their prices higher so that the clientele they don't want won't be able to have a good time. Fortunately, the bartenders were quick and friendly. I can't speak for every night, but my experience with them was positive. Bottom Line: Not a bad spot, just nothing new. I would just avoid it on rainy days since there is no roof! read more

My friend and I came here on a Wednesday after it had just been raining, so we were pretty much the only ones there, but that was to be expected. I loved the decor- so clean and classy. We ordered a cocktail each and enjoyed the beach view as the sun came out. Man do those drinks pack a punch. It was also happy hour so they were verrry cheap (for Miami). We went during the day. So you need to pay 10$ to get in- even ladies - then you have nowhere to sit- literally every single Spot - where nobody is sitting has a reserved sign. You either have to pay 300$ for bottle service or stand in the pool. Nobody told us that - I don't mind not having a fancy seat but by paying entrance fee I expected to sit my butt down somewhere. It's a nice place if you are staying at the hotel but if not then it's $100 to use the pool. With that being said, the $100 fee to use the pool is no where mentioned on the website and when confronting the manager about it, saying, "I think you should put this on your website so people don't get blindsided," he was being rude and disgusting to my gf and I. It wasn't as much of a big deal whenever we were told that we needed to pay money to use the pool, however, I was dissatisfied with the lack of leadership and business skills the manager had taking in feedback to potential customers. Definitely come here during happy hour. The drinks are BOGO and from what I could tell, weren't watered down like some happy hour specials tend to be. Otherwise, I don't think it's worth it. The pool itself is nice and it's always super to sit by the pool in the sun with a cocktail. I'd return just for that. The problem, though, was the bartending staff. They were SO awkward. Like some of the most awkward people I've ever encountered working at a bar. I walked up to them and they ignored me once and just stared the next time...what? I'm writing this review because High Bar recently changed their management and their new policy is: the rooftop pool and sitting area is no longer open to the public even if they are willing to spend money on food and drinks. I hope this new management gets aquatinted with the words "lost business." High bar was a gem to many locals like myself. Awful! Ruined our 4th of July!!! We went up at 9am to claim a seat, had a great time until 4:30 then they kicked us out telling us our space was "reserved" for someone paying for bottle service! Had they said that at 9 when the entire pool area was open we would have chosen another space! When they kicked us out it wAs too late, everything was taken! This is the bar on top of the Dream Hotel. It's nicely decorated and if you are a guest you can get a nice tan going. My biggest gripe was they need more elevators here. It's so slow. The pool is kinda small. When I was here it was pretty dead at night so I am not sure how it would be if it was packed. I just came to swim/drink/relax. It was nice that they had something like this on the rooftop and we didn't have to go out. read more
