The Cleopatra cafe doesn't look like much from the outside but come on in because the food is excellent. My daughter and I are always looking for good Mediterranean food. They have a good many with variety. We started with a hummus and a side order of spanakopita. The hummus and fresh pita were amazing. The spanakopita was full of spinach. It was good but I prefer more feta. I had the cleopatra plate and my daughter had the beef kabobs. The meat on both plates were full of flavor. Both came with a nice rice side as well as small Greek salad. The salad was very good as well. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. The service was good and friendly. We noticed a lot of to go orders. The tables were not very full but I think they had more to go orders than occupied tables. Very good. Well worth the side trip to find it! read more

Ordered the food via DoorDash, so I can't comment on the Atmosphere or the Service of the restaurant, but the food, I'm here for it. I'll start with the "negatives" Rice wasn't too flavorful, not really special in any way Hummus was very light - (still had really good flavor, I just personally prefer a thicker hummus, so not even really a knock here) And the positives: The side salad, best side salad I've had, the feta cheese sprinkled across the top is just right, not too much that it's overwhelming, but enough that you get the flavor in each bite. Absolutely stunning, for it to be "just a salad" Cleopatra plate and Gyro, OUTSTANDING, I don't think I've ever had the lamb meat cooked the way this place cooks it, tender chunks, FULL of flavor. And as a little bonus, their signature house sauce on the top was amazing also, I finished all the pieces covered in the sauce first and was wishing I had some more on the side to dip the meats in, it is phenomenal. Definitely going on my list of restaurants I will be eating at when I'm in the area, every time I come through Santa Fe. Definitely go check this place out if you're nearby. read more

Side of Tzaziki - completely missing I filed a report to door dash, asking if another driver could pick up the rest of our meal since a SUBSTANTIAL amount of food was missing. They said that they wouldn't do that, and instead offered a credit. I did ask them to send over my feedback to the restaurant and they said they would, but I'm unsure if they did. We were passing through Santa Fe and looking for take out. What a little jewel we stumbled on when we found Cleopatra Cafe! The food was delicious and the help very friendly when we picked up. I had the Spanakopita and hummus and my husband had the Lebanese Lamb salad. Only tough part was that Google Maps took us right to their front door, but there is not a sign on the outside of the building - just a stencil on the window that said "Mediterranean Food." read more

I'm not sure why we had high expectations, maybe because we've been to Cairo and Alexandria, but we ended up underwhelmed. We thought the restaurant itself was dark and cavernous, and we were the only customers there on a Sunday morning at 11:00 when they opened their doors, and we were also the only customers occupying the many tables in the restaurant when we finished eating our meals. We ordered at the counter and were prompted by the credit card machine to provide a tip (before even receiving any service) as loud Mexican music was playing in the kitchen. There was no offer to refill my Pepsi in their plastic reusable cup. It was off-putting that an employee was sweeping the floor near our table while we were eating (obviously cleaning up debris from the previous day). My Cleopatra Plate was recommended by the cashier but it was nothing to write home about, and sadly the avgolemono soup I ordered was bland/terrible. Visiting Santa Fe and found this place for the first time- it is 100% worth your time. - The staff is very friendly and attentive. I told them about my onion allergy and they walked me through the menu and my options. - The food is exactly what you want: warm, filling, delicious. My kids cleaned their plates and an order of hummus with pita. I couldn't finish my gyro it was so full of meat and veggies. Place my order to go they took it and payment proceeded to sit and wait , 30 min go by and one of the teens working there comes up to me and asks me what I'm waiting for whiz I proceeded to as we my food !! After you order and pay, they bring your meal to your table. It's a fairly quiet dining room with good separation between tables. There's quite a bit of carryout business both at lunch and dinner. Was there on 4/6/25 around 1ish. My wife and I ordered the gyro plate (2), fries (1), a happy camper IPA (1) and baklava (1). It was $39. Not impressed with that price. The customers before us were given a number post (used for identifying orders when seated at tables) and receipt after paying. I paid with cash and got none. I sat down with the wife and was wondering why I didn't get a number post or receipt so i went back to the counter to request one. I was not given a number post. I then asked for my receipt. The counter person asked me if I paid with cash and told me that they don't give out receipts for such orders. I told him that was no excuse. He then accused me of being rude. This person is not a customer person. I bit my tongue because I didn't want my food spit on and went back to our table. The food finally arrives. The fries are good. Wife said the baklava was good. The gyros were terrible. Meat was bland and tasteless. I got 7 (count them) small diced tomatoes on my gyro, no onions and a small drizzle of tzatziki sauce. I have eaten many gyros from all over and this was the worst rendition of a gyro I have ever seen. My wife readily agrees. I can't believe people who have left reviews saying this gyro was good. They obviously have never had a good one! Not worth the visit unless you want treated by employees with a bad attitude. read more
