This is an odd restaurant. It's super dark inside. Order at the counter. No offer of drink refills. I'm glad I looked at Yelp reviews before ordering because I got the cleopatra platter, and it was very yummy. The Cleopatra cafe doesn't look like much from the outside but come on in because the food is excellent. My daughter and I are always looking for good Mediterranean food. They have a good many with variety. We started with a hummus and a side order of spanakopita. The hummus and fresh pita were amazing. The spanakopita was full of spinach. It was good but I prefer more feta. I had the cleopatra plate and my daughter had the beef kabobs. The meat on both plates were full of flavor. Both came with a nice rice side as well as small Greek salad. The salad was very good as well. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. The service was good and friendly. Ordered the food via DoorDash, so I can't comment on the Atmosphere or the Service of the restaurant, but the food, I'm here for it. I'll start with the "negatives" Rice wasn't too flavorful, not really special in any way Hummus was very light - (still had really good flavor, I just personally prefer a thicker hummus, so not even really a knock here) And the positives: The side salad, best side salad I've had, the feta cheese sprinkled across the top is just right, not too much that it's overwhelming, but enough that you get the flavor in each bite. Absolutely stunning, for it to be "just a salad" Cleopatra plate and Gyro, OUTSTANDING, I don't think I've ever had the lamb meat cooked the way this place cooks it, tender chunks, FULL of flavor. And as a little bonus, their signature house sauce on the top was amazing also, I finished all the pieces covered in the sauce first and was wishing I had some more on the side to dip the meats in, it is phenomenal. Definitely going on my list of restaurants I will be eating at when I'm in the area, every time I come through Santa Fe. Definitely go check this place out if you're nearby. read more

Every single thing we ordered for had something wrong with it.. We ordered the following: 1. King Tut Plate - it was missing the Pita and Tabbouleh 2. Cleopatra Plate - missing the Pita 3. (2) extra sides of Pita - completely missing 4. Side of Spanakopita - completely missing 5. Side of Tzaziki - completely missing I filed a report to door dash, asking if another driver could pick up the rest of our meal since a SUBSTANTIAL amount of food was missing. They said that they wouldn't do that, and instead offered a credit. I did ask them to send over my feedback to the restaurant and they said they would, but I'm unsure if they did. I had the Spanakopita and hummus and my husband had the Lebanese Lamb salad. I'm not sure why we had high expectations, maybe because we've been to Cairo and Alexandria, but we ended up underwhelmed. We thought the restaurant itself was dark and cavernous, and we were the only customers there on a Sunday morning at 11:00 when they opened their doors, and we were also the only customers occupying the many tables in the restaurant when we finished eating our meals. We ordered at the counter and were prompted by the credit card machine to provide a tip (before even receiving any service) as loud Mexican music was playing in the kitchen. There was no offer to refill my Pepsi in their plastic reusable cup. It was off-putting that an employee was sweeping the floor near our table while we were eating (obviously cleaning up debris from the previous day). My Cleopatra Plate was recommended by the cashier but it was nothing to write home about, and sadly the avgolemono soup I ordered was bland/terrible. Queen Cleopatra and Ptolemy wouldn't know what to make of this place. read more

I told them about my onion allergy and they walked me through the menu and my options. - The food is exactly what you want: warm, filling, delicious. The hummus was creamy and not overpowered with garlic. Good pita bread. The spanakopita was flavorful not too heavy of dill but the phyllo was not as crispy as should be. Avogolemono soup was on the bland side. The greek salad was excellent. The wait to place order at front counter and have it delivered to table was reasonable. I been visiting here in Santa Fe for 3 weeks and probably have gotten good here 4 or 5 times , every time whomever is at the counter taking orders stands there with an attitude and face like you are bothering them or they're doing you a favor . Place my order to go they took it and payment proceeded to sit and wait , 30 min go by and one of the teens working there comes up to me and asks me what I'm waiting for whiz I proceeded to as we my food !! Well somehow they neglected to place the order . This is not acceptable of any establishment and the attitude from all the kids working there isn't as well. Maybe the owner should have an adult supervising and explain to them that just because they take an order they don't deserve a tip . After you order and pay, they bring your meal to your table. It's a fairly quiet dining room with good separation between tables. There's quite a bit of carryout business both at lunch and dinner.
