The food is ok. We came on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. After 10 minutes of waiting and not being acknowledged, we were seated. A young girl came and took our drink orders and 5 minutes later we got our drinks. 15 Minutes after getting our drinks, we FINALLY have someone come take our order, after I turned around looking for someone. We were sitting in the booth where the wall behind it is where all the menus go. Every single server thew the menus in the slot and it banged against where we were sitting. Very annoying. Can't they set them in there instead of throwing them? All around it was a bad experience. I won't be coming here again. read more

I noticed that there were Yelp reviews for Clementine, so that meant that the restaurant was finally open. I've passed by the restaurant several times, it's located in a strip mall on the corner of San Ramon Valley & Bollinger Canyon Rd where a Marie Calendar's used to be. The thought of a new place to eat in San Ramon was exciting, but I was not that impressed with the food at Clementine's. It would be great if the jambalaya was more spicy and if the mac & cheese were had more cheese like some of the other yelpers have mentioned. It might be a good breakfast place, so I'll give it another try at lunch. I think most of the diners were like me and wanted to give the new place in town a try. The staff is definitely friendly. Clementine's offers a bread basket when you get seated that includes white bread and cornbread. The cornbread reminds me of a citrusy pound cake, but it was delicious and kept me happy for a little bit. Just a note, the bar is not up and running yet but they do serve wine and beer. I ate here for lunch on a weekday. Oyster po-boy was a special of the day, so I gave that a try. The po-boy was pretty good, it didn't make me jump for joy, but it satisfied my craving. I tried to add some of their "hot sauce" onto my po-boy, and it was more of a vinegary concoction than hot sauce. Their were some spices in a shaker that I didn't see until later. What a find! Wow this place specializes in authentic Southern comfort food. Our first visit we tried the high and meaty Deli sandwich, w/crunchy sweet slaw, Cajun seasoned fries. Oh so good! And we tried the earthy Prime rib & vegetable soup. They nailed it, tender chunks of prime rib, tasty as it is comforting: as good as it gets! This is the second time I visited Clementines and they were out of oysters. Today I called ahead to ask about the oysters. They claimed they had them. We arrived at 3:00pm. My friends are hard to convince, but this is one of my favorites in the entire east bay. First of all Creole food... way out there in Northern Cali. AWESOME. Secondly, they have so many specials throughout the week, there is always something to choose from when it comes to value pricing. Third, they have the Dark & Stormy here and it's way better than the other places that serve it. IF they serve it, at all. Just visited Clementine's for Sunday brunch a few days ago. We came at noon and while the place was busy, we were seated right away. The lunch/brunch vibe was clearly different from our dinner experience. With the sunlight streaming in through the shutters and a live band in the bar, the place was not as gloomy. Service was relatively quick when we could get it. The coffee was good. However, we had to flag down a server for the one refill we managed to get. We also didn't get ice water until we asked. I had the chicken & waffle. The waffle was tasty with a nice crunchy exterior and a soft interior. The problem was it was room temperature. The butter served on top of it didn't melt at all. They also didn't give enough syrup and it was hard to flag down a server to get more. The chicken was tasty but again was just warm, not hot. It was also a little greasy and just a tad overcooked. I think the chicken was parcooked and sat under a heat lamp until an order came in. Then they did a quick refry to heat it up and crisp the skin. Then it sat under a heat lamp too long waiting for a server to pick it up. The 2nd dish was the Smoky Joe's scramble. This was a generous serving and came with a choice of side. Instead of potatoes, we got toast & fresh fruit. Again, the problem was not in the taste but the fact that it was not hot. Nice spot. Nothing stood out for me. Food was pretty good. Our waitress was great. She was able to help those of us who haven't been there before decide on what to get. They bring you out cornbread to start. It was very moist. We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp. It was pretty good. Shrimp was cooked perfect, wrapped in a large strip of bacon with BBQ brushed on top. We also had the chicken and waffles (the waffle was huge) and Jambalaya. The jambalaya was my least favorite, which was unfortunate because that's what I was looking forward to the most. They have a full bar. Thank you for being open! I can imagine how hard it has been for restaurants to manage with Covid. They have outdoor seating where tables had a good distance apart. The staff was kind and attentive. We came for breakfast and I thought everything was well done. The kids gobbled up the pancakes. They said it tasted like cupcakes. My other daughter also had the kids waffle that she also enjoyed. We also got the Benedict with crab cakes and chicken fried steak that were both delicious! The best part of brunch was the Bloody Mary. Never had one with bacon in it. Deelish! Walked in around 1:30, we were seated immediately. Host and waiter were super friendly. So hungry!! We order the favorite on yelp ! The Crab Cake Benedict to fulfill my starving stomach and tried to filled up my last night alcohol with these carb ! The Crab Cake Benedict came right after we put our other order it ! Perfect timing ! Love it !! We ordered the hot wings !! Duh ! For sure ! Look at me ! Then we also ordered crawfish étouffée !! Crawfish étouffée was spicy and instantly cured my hangover ! Space: There is plenty of space here with an area for a bar and a family friendly section as well. It is almost as if they split the restaurant into half. Service: They are pretty busy on weekends but they keep checking how you're doing and if you need anything which is wonderful. Price: The food is not unique but the price is average for San Ramon. It will cost about $10 or more per person. Food: There was nothing unique on the menu that I really wanted but they have a good brunch selection if you're in the mood. Decor of the restaurant is New Orleans theme and very pretty. The restaurant is big with s bar and the service was good. Menu seems pretty reasonable with items and prices. We had the large platter which ate everything on it. My chicken sandwich had a lot of flavor. My only critique is that the chicken was very small and then. Staying at the hotel next to Clementine's. Nice gem. The waiter, Brian, was a delight, very knowledgable about the food and the restaurant. The shrimp and greats were hot and had amazing flavor. An authentic Cajun recipe. The music was good. I could have enjoyed some New Orleans Jazz (for atmosphere). They open at 7:00 am for breakfast, 6:00 might have been better for business travels, like myself, especially being next to a hotel that host a fair amount of business people. I came from Oakland to see a friend the other night and we went to Clementine's. We checked the web site to make sure they were open until 10:00 PM. We arrived at 9:15 to locked doors. The hours of business posted on the door confirmed what the web site stated. There must be a mistake, I thought. So, I called their number since I saw someone inside. I asked about their early closure and was told that they were doing some cleaning that involved harsh chemicals. Now I can understand the need for cleaning, especially in a restaurant. The part I don't understand is the lack of any kind of posting on the door or the web site to let customers know of a schedule change. I own a retail business and provide services to my customers. Whenever I cannot provide those services, I post signs in advance and post it on my web site so to not inconvenience customers. I wish I had the opportunity to eat at Clementin's and write a favorable review, but alas I drove there for nothing but a locked door. read more

This place does not abide by it's posted business hours. Last night (Friday) some friends were looking for a place to meet for celebratory drinks. There's few places in San Ramon that stay open past 10p, but Clementine's hours said 11p. At 9:36p, I called to confirm their hours and the gal answering the phone said they were indeed open until 11p last night. By 9:50p, we arrived to find the doors LOCKED, but could see customers inside the bar area and could even see someone still performing live music. I tried calling again but no answer. A few minutes later an employee exited, and he told us the place was closed. When I asked him why their hours said 11 and that i had called to confirm, he just shrugged his shoulders. Having lived in Lafayette Louisiana I am finicky about Cajun food. While the Cajun at Clementine's is not a broad selection the dishes that are were nice! The crawfish were nice but minuscule, the red beans and rice was perfect. The waiter was attentive and prices OK. 4 stars. read more

I have to give zero stars. The customer service is no good. I got the sampler platter with Fried green tomato's , fried okra , hot wings and fried shrimp . The shrimp have a funky smell of if the had been left out of the fridge , the fried okra was ok. But the fried green tomato's did not have the tangy fried tomato taste it had no taste and the wings were so dried out as If they has been refried. I'm happy it was just the 1/2 platter . My family and I love southern food and have been looking for a real authentic southern restaurant and we have found finally a great place! The price is moderate but totally worth it! Easy location not to far from freeway. Only saying this because if you don't live in the area it is worth the drive. There is a seperate bar area that has tv's and lots of seating for a little sports bar feel! Let's start with the dessert! Absolutely my favorite A la mode Peach cobbler! Great portion size served in a soup bowl with an even crumbly toasted crunchy crust that is to die for! They brown the top a little which gives it a light burnt taste that gives it that special kick! I did have dinner before dessert! It was a great choice! I had the prime rib dip sandwhich with sweet potatoe fries and coldslaw. The sandwhich had a horseradish spread very light with your choice of cheese! The juice served au jus was smokey and gave the perfect flavor to dip the sandwhich in. We were given cornbread and bisquits with butter while we waited for our meal. The corn bread wasn't as flavorable as i expected but the bisquit was huge and delicious! We ordered fried Okra for our appetizer it was delicious and came with dipping sauce called remoulade. My other family members ordered the fried chicken dinner that came with coldslaw and your choice of potatoes. They loved the mashed potatoes! The side of greens was also delicious. Last but not least Pecan pie topped with vanilla icecream was a big hit! The sweet tea was pretty good and one of the better teas we have had! Service was quick and our waiter was very nice.
