Chai latte

We knew Clementine is popular and with no reservations to be had, we needed to get there early if we wanted to be seated right away. As we cruised past looking for a parking spot, there were only two people lingering near the door. By the time we circled pack around, the line was reaching down the street. The sight filled us with determination, and we took up a post at the rear. Happily, we were able to be seated right away at the bar even with our odd group size of 5. The decor inside is eclectic but considered, and despite the rush of diners, food came out fairly quickly once we had all finally made up our minds on what to order. The food itself was absolutely stellar, especially for the price. The fried chicken was perhaps the best I'd ever had, and I can't get over the spicy cucumbers. I'm usually skeptical of foams, but the peanut lime foam on this dish was one of the few I thought genuinely improved the experience. The chai latte was the best we've tasted in a long time, and my alcoholic drink was tasty as well. Everything at Clementine just feels polished and perfected down to the last brunchy bit. Highly recommend stopping in if you can.

AMAZING FOOD and great service. I went alone and got sat immediately at 10am. I recommend reservations if you have more than 2 people. Definitely worth the visit. Vibes are great too!

If you take a stroll down Princess Street in Winnipeg don't blink or you may just miss Clementine Cafe and they're not something you want to miss. There's an eclectic vibe in a small space and it was crowded the whole time we were there. The reason is the amazing food. We had brunch there on a Sunday morning. They don't take reservations, but it's worth the wait. Their matcha lattes are beautiful and tasty. If you're feeling adventurous you can even order your cappuccino with maple whiskey. There were so tasty options on the menu. I went with the Braised Bacon Benedict (Cider Hollandaise, Dill, Poached Eggs, Black Pepper Biscuit). I've never had dill on my eggs Benedict and it kicked it up a notch. I was craving it for days after. The braised bacon was also delicious. It was so filling. I also had the Yogurt Panna Cotta, with Kiwi, Freeze Dried Raspberry, Hemp Hearts, and Green Granita. It was so good. I didn't even realize I didn't get a picture and there was nothing left to take a picture of. It was amazing. I could seriously be in Winnipeg for a week and eat here every single day for breakfast.

Stopping by Winnipeg to visit a friend of ours and heard great things about this place! Seems to me that you can only get a table without any wait time if you come for lunch on a weekday. Be sure to try their matcha latte! It is a must have!

Now it's my favourite

Fast and good service, nice interior and great prices, I will definitely come here again

Smoked Steelhead Trout with Crispy Potato Cakes, Horseradish Crème Fraîche, Cured Dill Cukes, Roe

Wow!!! This is breakfast / brunch place of my dreams. Everything on the menu is exceptional with standouts being the Buttermilk Fried Chicken (a must-try!), the Trout, the Benedict and the pannacotta. They serve fresh squeezed orange juice which I love. The vibes are great. Service is excellent. It is always very busy so pop in 30 minutes to an hour before you want to dine and put your name on the list. You can walk around the exchange district in Winnipeg until your table is ready. Bravo to the amazing chef, Chris Gama and team!

clementine was highly recommended on Reddit and it's worth the hype. Had to wait 40ish mins for a table but the food came quick. The menu is not your typical breakfast/brunch items but this over the basics!! Tasty food, and affordable prices compared to Toronto!! A must if you visit Winnipeg & you gotta order the bacon and fried potatoes. Fried chicken on toast, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Dill Ranch, Calypso Honey, Pickles, Sourdough Toast ($16) Smoked arctic char, Crispy Potato Cakes, Horseradish Crème Fraîche, Cured Dill Cukes, Roe ($16 ,+$1 for egg) Maple Braised Bacon ($7) Fried Potatoes, Tamarind Sauce, Curry Aioli, Green Onion ($7)

Transcendent: the flavours, the service, the exhilarating energy of a place where everything is operating at such a high level. Had lunch before just before they closed and there were 12+ plates in the window. I commented to my sister they were serving staff "family style" like The Bear (fantastic show). I corrected myself, it wasn't exactly family style because it was specific dishes. She incredulously had to check and it was indeed for staff. That says a lot, the waitstaff will always be knowledgeable, the chefs are always tasting their own dishes, and the care for staff.

What made this Benedict special was the quality, texture and flavour of the bacon

The food was amazing and the service to complement it However the bacon was truly something else A real jewel tucked away in Winnipeg

This adorable little place has great ambiance, fast service and wonderful fresh food. We came right at opening and got a table immediately. We already knew what we wanted to ordered quickly and the food came out very fast! I had the waffle and a side of potatoes. The waffle was the perfect balance of sweet and creamy with the fresh fruit and the cream. The potatoes were perfectly crispy. My husband had the Benedict and said it was the best meal he's had in a long while. The cappuccino was good but the breakfast drink was even better.

Omg this was literally the best brunch I've had in a very long time. Came to visit family in Winnipeg from LA for Xmas and my husband and I both agree, this is probably the most underrated spot in Winnipeg. Be prepared to wait on weekends and holidays, but it is worth the wait. Such a cozy atmosphere and the staff were super friendly. Honestly, can't recommend anything in particular cause everything we had was delicious. We will definitely be returning next time we are in town.

Had a lovely brunch at Clementine this morning before Festival du Voyager. The fried chicken on toast was outstanding and the spicy cucumbers were so interesting and unique. Our server was incredibly helpful and attentive. Love how cozy and warm the interior was.

Alright food, and long wait times. Very expensive. It's very trendy and modern but I think there's better spots in the area.

Very charming and did everything to make our evening very special. He gave good recommendations and was very attentive without being intrusive. I had the prime rib with Yorkshire pudding, garlic mashed potatoes and roasted red peppers (I specifically asked for those) and my dinner was 5 stars. For dessert I had their Key Lime pie which was melt in your mouth scrumptious. If you want a memorable and wonderful dinner, I highly recommend The Gates.

We came for an early dinner on a Wednesday so it was very quiet in the restaurant. I started with scallops which were cooked perfectly and had a very tasty aioli. For our entree's I had the beef tenderloin, my wife had pork tenderloin and my mother in law had a chicken linguini. My beef was cooked perfectly medium rare and was awesomely seasoned. The accompanying vegetables were great and I had an order of asparagus with bernaise. The bernaise was thicker than I expected but still had good flavour. My wife's pork was filled with apples and other things and wrapped in prosciutto. She said it was the best one of the best pork dishes she had. Lastly my mother in law really enjoyed her pasta We would all come back to The Gates for a special occasion in the future.

It was more firm. We are in an adjoining room (338) and the person next door is showering and blowing their nose nonstop. It's like I'm right in the shower with him. Other guests also complained about hearing entire conversations from the rooms next door. It's clear that the current owner has tried to update the place to look more like a Motel 6 than what this beautiful building should be. Cheap renovations and tacky Target bargain furniture and light fixtures have stripped this place of its charm and history. All of the beautiful wood in the unit is painted white now and the hallways are a horrible and depressing dark grey. The furniture is cheap and over sized for the rooms. Room 619 had a bed so tall we had to ask to switch rooms. The front desk suggested they bring us a step ladder instead. Seriously?! We finally switched to 808 which had two regular sized beds that were a normal height and we didn't have to be watched as we went to the bathroom. Not sure why washrooms that face other units don't have window coverings! There are absolutely no amenities in the rooms. No fridge. An $8 plastic bottle of water. A Nespresso with coffee only. You have to ask for tea if you want it. Toiletries in the bathroom need revisiting. They're the same ones from 2010 from L'Occitane; tired, dated and horribly scented. More hotels have switched to more sustainable and options but here, you will still get a shoe mitt and shower cap. One bonus was two robes in each room. There is a small gym but no access to a pool. You can pay $12 next door. Apparently yoga is included, but no one told us about that upon check in for our weeklong stay. The wifi didn't work after the first night and staff weren't overly helpful about it. At $252 a night, this is not what we were expecting. Had we known how downhill this place has gone, we'd have opted for the Holiday Inn. Parking is $22 a night and the front entrance is permanently occupied by crowds of smokers. It's absolutely disgusting. This place is for sale so we really hope that the new buyer will help bring this beauty back from the depths of sadness.
