Sweet potato black bean burger- must try soooo good! I had my dog so we sat in the back patio which felt like s tranquil backyard retreat. We also ordered the poutine which was fresh but felt like it could've had more salt. The curry lentil soup was also new for me and it was surprisingly tangy with a little spice at the end. All in all really enjoyed our time here and can't wait to come back.

Friends from Halifax were in for a visit, so, after viewing the polar bears we stopped at The Park Cafe for a late lunch on Monday of the August long weekend. The building is beautiful with a huge bank of windows flooding the area with natural light. The food was good, particularly the Park Burger. The beer list was a little skimpy and the Barnhammer special was the stout. Not a good choice on a hot day. Service was good on what was obviously a busy day. I felt like we received value for money. I know it's hard for a restaurant of this kind to accept reservations, but that would be an improvement. I would not wait more than 15 minutes for a table. I would recommend this establishment for breakfast or lunch.

One of the best spots to have eggs benedict in Winnipeg, perfectly executed with rich, creamy hollandaise. Great ambience too.

This is probably my favourite spot to go if I want coffee and need to get some studying done. I had ordered a cortado, which is my new found favourite beverage second to latte. The cortado tastes good. They also offer daily soups with bread, and they also carry a selection of gelato, which I have yet to try.

The service was alright, we ordered sandwiches and then she told us the total although we still wanted drinks. I had the pesto and roasted red pepper panini, the bread was really wonderful and overall it was very good. Afterwards we had gelato, I had matcha and it was really nice, along with an iced latte. The coffee itself was really nice, not overly bitter, and the latte was sweetened the right amount. Only qualm was the lemon gelato had a metallic taste, which is common when acid reacts with aluminum. We all tried it and decided it was inedible so I brought back to the counter and just let her know that we could not eat it as it had a metallic taste. She tried it (out of the same bowl we all had been tasting it from) and basically said, no that's just how it is. Considering we had spent $50 at the cafe, it would have been easy to get a replacement gelato, without arguing with the customer. I think she knew we were irritated and came to our table to ask if we were okay. I appreciate that you approached us afterwards but a little goes a long way in the beginning. I will be back and will review again, hopefully service is a bit more forgiving.

The atmosphere was just as inviting as the staff; there was a side for serious breakfast eaters and a side for coffee and pastries type people. Speaking of pastries- the "cafe style" display of various goodies (cinnamon buns, muffins, croissants etc) was *drool* delicious looking. Will I eat here again- definitely. My husband and I both got the eggs benedict (he got the braised beef, I got the avocado smash). The English muffins were clearly made in store so they did not have that "store bought" flavour.... which some of us may prefer ‍. But the eggs were cooked perfectly soft, the hollandaise was to die for, and can we just highlight the POTATOES for a second . I was skeptical at first because they were a little dark, but seriously- they were amazing. Crispy, salty.. what more could you want. I also had the cappuccino, we know how I love a cappuccino- however this one hit a little under the bar. The coffee was strong so if you're into strong coffee then this is the place for you. Next time I'll try a different warm beverage. We loved this little spot- keep an eye out for more visits here. Next time- Cinabun french toast!
