He checked up the day after he worked for me to make sure that everything was OK. Not only will he get the job done, but he's also a great storyteller! We called Spa people to get help, but no one answered. And right then we looked up to see, walking toward us, Kim Henderson, our karmic plumber! He had stopped by to say hello, and then became our hero. Kim dropped what he was doing that day and stayed with it till the problem was corrected. This was no small thing because it involved many phone calls, dealing with rural internet issues, a trip into Cotati, a tutoring session by the spa technician (whose installers had wired for 220 instead of 110, and who had misinstalled the pump system), driving back, and then making all the repairs. When Kim left at 9:45 that night, we swore he was walking on water. Hot water!

My wife looked up people to help and Jacob looked to be the best option. Too right it was. He had our pipe fixed in no time. He happily came after finishing another install, so it was late in the afternoon on a Friday. He didn't mind me asking questions about how the process of fixing the pipe worked, and we joked about previous jobs. Overall a great guy and great work. Thank you for saving our vacation weekend. It would have been a little sad w/o water.

However, my second experience confirmed ongoing issues with communication and follow-through. After the water line repair, I later contacted him about a broken toilet flange. He said it was an easy fix, and since it wasn't urgent, I told him he could fit it in when he had availability. About a week later, he reached out with several possible dates and we agreed on a specific day. The day before the appointment, I texted to ask what time to expect him and was told between 10 a.m. and noon. That morning, I let him know I was briefly running an errand and asked him to text when he was ready to head over, as I could be home within 15 minutes. By 10 a.m. I was back home and texted to confirm I was there. He never showed up and never responded to any of my messages that day. While the quality of work may be good, the lack of communication and missed appointments make it difficult to rely on him. Based on my experiences, I would recommend this plumber only if scheduling reliability and responsiveness are not critical for you.

After discussing options among themselves, they clearly explained the best possibilities for our small bathroom--solutions we hadn't considered. We first met Jake in 2020, when he worked for another company and replaced our home's water pipes. He is experienced with homes that have wells and has extensive plumbing expertise. Now, as a business owner, he and his team exceeded our expectations again. This time, we needed an accessible bathroom for a relative with mobility issues, and Jake, Chris, and Russell delivered excellent, knowledgeable service. Their vision transformed our tiny bathroom into a much safer, modern space. We will continue to call Jake Varnadore for future projects on our aging home because of his reliability and consistency.
