Was looking for something to do with my husband yesterday we were going to head to a different Winery but shows this one instead due to the reviews. There are not much of any grounds there with the exception of the main building and a small patio area where you can sit and listen to the music if there is music that day. There is a very small menu and we decided to go with the meat board for $16 which included about eight thin slices of meat a few tiny baguettes three tiny pickles and two green olives not worth it in my opinion and have been to other places which offered the same for Less Price and more food. Saturday, we came to Clearview Vineyard. You can either wine taste indoors or outdoors. A lot of seating is available. It was a lovely day, so we sat out on the porch. Several others were enjoying wine, food and the live music! We ordered 2 wine flights and a yummy fruit and cheese board. Other food is available too. The self guided wine flight included 4 samples, logo wine glass and a description of each wine ($12.00). The Dry Riesling sampler was the highlight! The other sampler wines were pretty good. We did order a glass of the Seyval Blanc and Monet. Both wines were nice. Customer service was pretty good. I know it was a self guided wine flight, but the only improvement would be the outdoor servers having some knowledge of the wine. Clearview Vineyard is located up a twisted hill. I grew up in Warwick and had never visited Clearview Winery so I thought I should give it a try. So much quieter then most wineries in the area, which I loved! We had more time and space to really enjoy ourselves. There is outdoor seating on their balcony but we took a two person table inside as we weren't staying that long and they were setting up for music. I loved how they are doing wine tastings in social distancing times. The five wines came in little cups with the numbers on them and with a tasting list to go back a see what we were tasting. It was nice to guide ourselves through this, it's always the most awkward thing to taste wine right in front of the people working at a winery. The wines themselves were tasty, a bit on the sweeter side but tasty. I didn't have a single one that I hated, which is surprising. I have to say the reds were much better then the whites though! The so so rating is really because we bought two bottles of the Estate Seyval Blanc and one was definitely mislabeled, one was what we had tasted and liked, the other was sweet as anything and not to our tastes. read more

The owner of the winery, Frank was great with our tasting. He explained everything and had a very nice conversation. The wines were all good. It was funny that a lot of their grapes are from Long Island. We went upstate to do something a bit different than the LI wineries. We liked what they did with the LI grapes better than what Long Island does with them. They had live music I wound up buying 3 bottles of wine! Loved the Merlot especially. Small intimate winery with great red wine - this wine tastes better than the other wineries nearby! They have a bordeaux-style which was fantastic along with a good merlot & cab. We did not taste any of the whites as we prefer red wine. If you are a beer drinker, they have some beer on tap! I think that is a great thing to offer something other than wine as not all people enjoy wine! We went on Mother's Day & they had a duo playing music & they were pretty good. Unfortunately it was raining so we were inside but if it's nice out, there have a lovely covered deck. Decent choices on food to pick on. We shared a meat & cheese plate which was delish! My husband and I decided to take a day trip to Warwick. Losing track of time, we stopped upon Clearview Vineyard. Though they were about to close (we, of course, felt horrible!), we were insisted to come in. Frank, the owner, was our guide and he was exceptionally informative! We had so much fun and even got to listen to the Eagles with him before we left. While he cleaned up, he told us to take a walk to the top of the vineyard - BREATHTAKING. Of all the places we went to that day, this was the view we were looking for. If you have a chance, visit this vineyard! Whenever I visit Warwick, it is always timed when there's this country music festival at Warwick Winery which am not into. They charged you $15 just to get in regardless so I bailed out. Thanks to Yelp, that I ended up at Clearview Vineyard. I am happy with my cheese and fruit platter with the wine tasting. They have a live music. Although the grounds are a lot smaller than Warwick Winery, it didn't disappoint me and hubby. I am not a fan of heat so am happy seated indoor with AC. CV offers an outdoor seating in their deck with tables you can seat and drink as well. Highly recommended. read more

Arriving at this big gorgeous vineyard, we were pleasantly greeted by the wine owner himself and taken on a wonderful set-tasting wine tour. Checking us in, with our wine passports (normally 6 wines for $8), he discussed the pros and cons of the passport; mainly letting us know which wineries we could look forward to based on our tastes and where we should quickly try to 'in and out'. We tried: -A Semi-Dry Riesling: smelled like popcorn feet (you know-where you squish popcorn with your feet)-but tasted much better than it smelled -Old Ridge: A blend of a Cab Franc & Noiret-very peppery -Cab Franc: the Noiret took out some of the pepper, so the Franc was wonderfully smokey, with pepper on the fnish (we bought a bottle) -Cab Sav: Bold, full body, but missing the kick of the Franc -Noiret: Bold, unique, strong body, low tannins (we also bought a bottle) -Merlot: a "gateway" wine-sweeter on the in-take, smooth on the finish -Monet: Too light for my taste, but a solid wine During the tasting, Frank gave a lot of wine knowledge, tuning us into NY wine, imported grapes, and changes in the estate wines. They are strict about taking your temperature and logging you in before even sitting you down. We just discovered Clearview Vineyards after getting ripped off at 2 other local wineries. Now to Clearview. We drove up and found the grounds very organized and clean. They had live music on an outside platform. Very nice. Not crowded, we got a table right away. We sat outside to listen to the music. Server came over with menus. We ordered separate drinks ans shared some food. The wine and the drinks along with a platter of chips with 3 dips were very good. The prices are very reasonable. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. The owner came over a chatted with us for a while. All in all we had a very nice time. We are from Long Island and drove 2-1/2 hrs. It was well worth it. Fourth Warwick winery on the weekend trip. I believe this winery is the newest out of all the Warwick wineries. I had been here before a few years ago during the "Around the World" wine event that the Shawangunk wine trail of the Hudson Valley wineries hosted. Clearview was our starting point and we got our passports there. All their wines except for their Sangria are dry, so if you're looking for something sweet this may not be your cup o' tea. But if your looking for perfection and wine excellence then you're in the right place. Their Cab Sauv and the Noiret are top notch and give some of the top name wines of its class a run for their money. Small winery but big on taste. read more

I liked this winery, I really did. They have a great setup with a large tasting room and an outdoor balcony with seating and live music. You can also take your wine outside and go walk to their vineyards to check it out. We each chose the red wine tasting which was I believe 4 reds and one white for $7. The reds all tasted pretty similar, but there's nothing wrong with that. We ordered the cheese platter which was a big hit. The jam that it comes with is the bomb and goes perfectly with the cheese. Now what made me deduct some stars, THEY HAVE NO AC!! We were literally sweating inside there and couldn't handle it. We moved to the patio but it was so hot that day the outdoors didn't give us any relief. The band playing outside was really good but slightly on the loud side. The only air flow they had were slow moving ceiling fans inside. I honestly wanted to stay and order more wine but it was so damn hot that we just had to leave. I would have given them 5 stars and way more of my money if they just had some type of cooling system in there. Please invest in some type of air conditioning so I can go back there! read more

Birthday 2012 celebration continues all week long with good close friends. Stop number two. Clearview Vineyard is one of the newer vineyards to the addition in the Hudson Valley region. It is family own and operated by a husband and wife team, vintners Frank and Karen Graessle who won a gold metal in a amateur contest. The couple are very welcoming into their slightly over 10 acres, while Mr. Graessle is very informative and knowledgeable who exercise extreme care, time, patience, honing his professionalism, and portray respect to all wine enthusiasts aboard including our party of four a tour of his behind-the-scenes operation in his garage. I believe in my adult years of winery and vineyard hopping, this is my first direct encounter with vintners and/or vineyard owners, amid a very good experience. Clearview Vineyard utilizes metal barrel rather than traditional oak and all bottling are prepared by hand. Estate wines are fermented from on-site organic grapes. Wine enthusiasts are able to roam their slightly over 10 acres into the vineyard atop of the steep hill overlooking the valley which bears a breath taking view. Seated atop of the hill is a wooden porch swing which is very romantic for couples to witness a blessed sunset. It is worth the trek on that extreme steep hill to the porch swing as the view is breath taking of Warwick Valley. The air is clear, the sky is blue, the land is green green and the road is dirt, and noise pollution spoiled by city scene is another world. Stress is far far away for a restful chilling day with good wine in the sweet company of good close friends. Be sure to assign a designated driver. N.B. I believe it is cash only for $5.00 for wine tastings and bottle purchases. The $5.00 wine tasting enables wine enthusiasts to keep their tasting glasses. We did a wine tasting here for only $6 and you got to keep the glass. The wine is exceptional and the view from the top of the vineyard was wonderful (see photos). There was live music on the outside deck when we went which only added to the great time my wife and I had. The one thing I wasn't too satisfied with was the cheese plate. This is by far one of the best wineries in southern NY. We came here on a chilly and overcast day in October and had a great time despite the weather. First, the wines here are great. The reds, while young, are well-bodied and wholesome. Our flight ($5) included 2 whites and 4 reds. Most of the reds were on the earthy or spicy side. I'm not a fan of spice but the smoky/earthy ones were wonderful. Their red blend, the Monet, was my favorite. We went home with four bottles of that. We'd inquired about the other wines that weren't on their flight list, and they let us try those, too! We ended up trying 3-4 wines more for no extra charge! Second, the snacks. Oh lordy the snacks. Having visited a number of wineries in the Hudson Valley, I know to fill up on food before go. So few of them have hors d'oeuvres to accompany the wines, which can be pretty dangerous if you're trying wines on an empty stomach! But I digress. Clearview Vineyard serves an awesome cheese plate ($12). It is big enough for 3-4 people to munch on, and comes with 3 different cheeses, 2 types of crackers, pita chips, fruit (strawberry, kiwi, grapes), dried cranberries and such, and wasabi peas. Truly a treat. We also had the baguette with fresh mozz, tomato, basil, oil, and balsamic ($8). Delish! The owners are lovely people and made us feel very welcome. Karen was a great hostess who conversed with my BF and me the entire time we were there. She never made us feel pressured to buy anything (although we did go home with 7 bottles). This review is for customer service only - I have not been there. I called asking about possibility of a reservation for a larger group and then I asked to split into 2 tables for social distancing. Instead of explaining options available, the gentleman who answered went on a rant about social distancing and "absolutely not. you people who split the tables and end up socializing at just one during, ya know, this pandemic going on" was a little blunt. We are healthcare workers and take COVID-19 very seriously while wanting to support local businesses and enjoy a day out of the city. From us in healthcare, thank you for adhering to the CDC guidelines, but no thanks for assuming your new customers would be disrespectful and unsafe. Went to Warwick for apple picking and decided to try this winery. Walked in just as it opened, and could not believe how friendly and kind the staff were! The wines were delicious, and a bunch of them are made from the grapes at the vineyard (many of the wines are made from grapes from Long Island). After the wine tasting, we were able to walk through the vineyard which lead to an amazing view (about 15 miles...hence the name "Clearview") Awesome experience overall! Wow. This place really put the icing on the cake of a fabulous mother's day weekend. My mother and I stopped in sporadically for wine tasting and my mom got a free tasting and dessert (a brownie or coffee cake) for mother's day. The owners were very hospitable, they baked the brownies and coffee cake themselves and later started walking up to tables giving them away (By this point all the mothers had partaken.) What was really surprising is that they serve a cheese plate and a vegan snack plate! They also serve vegan food for dinner too (they get it from conscious fork). That is really going above and beyond in my opinion. Options for all! Now the wine! I loved the Merlot, as so many people mention here. It wasn't too sweet nor was it overly oaky. The grapes were very fresh and tart. We also enjoyed the white wines, which are from the vineyard and are organic. My mom and I bought several bottles and glasses which... ..we enjoyed on their beautiful balcony looking out at the mountains and listening to beautiful vocals and guitar courtesy of a local band called The Hipreplacements. The music was gorgeous and my mom and I gave up our plans of exploring the rest of the wine trail because being at Clearview felt so right. I will definitely be coming back here. read more

As we have been working through visiting every winery on the Shawagunk Wine Trail we have met some really nice people, but far and away the nicest is Frank who owns Clearview Vineyard with his wife. The wines were very enjoyable, and it was interesting to taste his single varietal white wines he makes with grapes grown on his property. Our favorites were his reds and red blends made from Cab Franc and Merlot grown in the finger lakes and north fork. Very nice wines, and I was shocked when Frank said he had only been making wines for about 4 years, as the wines were very good. Frank walked us through each wine, and gave us a great run down of his vineyard, its history, the cat, and the events there. He then walked us up to the vineyard and let us through the deer fence. Here you can walk up a steep hill amongst the vines, and at the top there are some adirondack chairs and a swing bench, and STUNNING views. I could have sat up there until the sunset. Truly beautiful spot to see how majestic NY really is. Definite revisit. read more
