    Long driveway past apple orchard

This winery is situated as its name implies next to an apple orchard on about 90 acres of rolling hills in Warwick,NY. Many varieties of wines of course along with other beverages and food items. Pizzas and charcuterie boards are recommended. They also have trivia nights and band nights. You can also rent the main room for a party! Friendly owners/staff and beautiful setting. I'm sure you'll enjoy it

Came to Applewood Winery yesterday after making a reservation online about a week prior. It has nice vibes located in Warwick. The drive there was beautiful and obviously parking was not an issue. There were plenty of open tables and our waitress was very nice. They were having an electricity issue so some of the glass towers were not available I assume bc they weren't able to be washed quickly and we were given plastic cups for wine tasting. We requested to switch to glass towers and they were nice enough to do so. The wines were very nice and food was fresh. The vibe was nice as well. Just be aware that this is a winery and not a vineyard. I originally thought it was a vineyard and expected to see some grape vines but I guess that wasn't the case. Overall though it was a very nice experience. There are also a nice alpaca farm and ice cream place near by so it's great for a weekend day-trip!

I went with five other friends and we rented a cabana as I know it gets quite crowded on the weekend. It happened to be one of the most beautiful days so we were thankful to have it available for us. We were quite disappointed to see the changes that were made over the last year and a half since I last went. They added an area with chickens and sheep which blocked the view of the lake and on top of that we were told that the path down to it was now closed off and that the business behind the winery, Applejack, will not allow people from the winery to go down there unless they drive their vehicles and pay for parking which is absurd. Why wouldn't you want foot traffic from there down to your location? We laughed at the thought and were not about to do that. Honestly, no one would know about that place if it wasn't for Applewood, I didn't until I went to the winery and walked down to check out their little shop but it is definitely not worth going to. After our two hours were up at the cabana, our incredible server, Jen, held the table for us inside that we had for another hour.

Great place!!Beautiful view!! Loved how they present the wine tasting. Staff was very friendly and attentive. She helped us determine which sampling was best for us based on our preferences. Price was perfect. Cheese board was delicious. We enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend stopping by and just chill.

Wine, cider, and cocktails with the classic fall/farm/rustic/chill vibe. We usually do the wine and/or cider flights inside the winery which is pretty opened and spacious. Then we move outside as there's a lot of seating to just chill on the grass and few different areas to get drinks if you're not sitting down with table service at the winery. They make subpar pizza on site as well as a few other things and there's also a food truck which is excellent. There also seems to have been a falling out between Applewood Winery and the adjacent Apple Dave's (which now charges a $5 admission fee whereas Applewood Winery does not) so now you are no longer able to walk back and forth between the two.

I had a nice relaxing time at this winery! I really liked the sweet flight; it went from less sweet to the most sweet and they all tasted really good! My favorites were the rose and the concord wine (the last two)! The specialty pizza for that day was yummy, but I wish the crust was a bit more thin. The only other thing I wished this winery had was a better view; there is a body of water (lake? pond?) past the fence but you can't get to it or really take pictures of it. Would recommend coming here for the food, drinks and relaxing vibes but not so much for pictures!

Came to Warwick for the long Labor Day Weekend and found this spot shortly after we arrived. Thought we would just poo in to see and we stayed for hours! They had cool seating out back. Kid friendly, dog friendly and huge space! You can have beers at the distillery, pick apples in the orchard or just hang and order food and drinks like we did. They have a cool southern food truck up front with delicious food!! The pulled pork sandwich was just perfect!! Full of tender well cooked shredded pork with just the right amount of sauce and seasoning. The pizzas inside were just perfect and the cider apples at the barn were even better!! Live music on Saturdays! Great seating out back. You can sit indoors or outdoors and have just as good a time!

Applewood Winery is adjacent to the orchard. Throughout the year they're open: Jan - Feb, Wknds Only; March - Aug, Wed - Sun 11am - 5pm; Sept -Oct, Open Daily 11am - 5pm; Nov - Dec, Wed - Sun, 11am - 5pm. Starting in November it's recommended to buy a ticket for reserved indoor seating. Outdoor seating is on a first come, first serve basis. After Apple picking and taking numerous pics we decided to grab some food and partake in the winery. We lucked out and were able to find a seat at the picnic table for our group. We had chicken and steak tacos along with their original hard cider and pink moscato. I was amazed at how good the hard cider was. It was my first time trying it and I've been hooked ever since. My brother's girl bought my hunny and I a bottle of Pink Moscato which is as equally delicious as the hard cider. I wish this place was closer because I'd definitely go back every weekend. They have A Wino Club where they ship you two bottles of Applewood wine or cider 4 times a year at a 20% discount. The 20% discount applies to all of your wine and cider purchases throughout the year. There's also offer free wine tastings for you and up to 3 guests whenever you visit the winery. Their winery includes Cider, Mead, Red Wine, and White Wine. They offer free shipping of six bottles or more and they deliver to NY, NJ, and CT. They currently hand deliver orders to areas within 20 miles of Warwick.

I love this place. Not because I got proposed to right by the lake, but their wine is fantastic. They make a LIT sangria, and their wood fired pizza you cannot miss out on. They have a cozy indoor setting, wine flights are a good choice for first time goers. Also their outside is extensive. They are right near a distillery (not in association). And view is so sweet. ... you also pass an alpaca farm on the way there.

The wine here is absolutely terrible. So sweet and undrinkable. The cheese pizza tasted like a frozen pizza. Also no tap water. The scenery on the lake however is very pretty. Skip this place.

Try the things you might think are weird- they are the most delicious. And definitely go outside and see the sheep and chickens.

First time to the winery/distillery. We tried a flight of cider, and shared a chicken empanada (which was delicious) and pretzel bites. Our server, while new, was more interested in sitting and chatting with someone she seemed familiar with, than providing service. We asked for a fork, she went to the kitchen and came back with more napkins. ?? All in all, it was an "ok" experience.

The self guided wine flight included 4 samples, logo wine glass and a description of each wine ($12.00). The Dry Riesling sampler was the highlight! The other sampler wines were pretty good. We did order a glass of the Seyval Blanc and Monet. Both wines were nice. Customer service was pretty good. I know it was a self guided wine flight, but the only improvement would be the outdoor servers having some knowledge of the wine. Clearview Vineyard is located up a twisted hill. Upon entering, it looked more like a wine store than a typical winery tasting bar area. Cramped with lots of liquor, oils, and wines-with loads of signs around displaying the 'rules of the winery' (not your typical intoxicated people won't get served, but literal how he does the tasting rules) Entering the winery, we overheard the owner speaking with another group. He sounded passionate; discussing 'old world wine' and had a lot of wines to run through ...we got our hopes up-but our excitement quickly went away. Our tasting experience was very disappointing. We checked in with our passport (the normal tasting would have been $7 for 7 wines), and we informed of the many rules posted around (like no sharing), and learned apparently another rule is no choosing which wines. The man just started pouring: "Wine 1-a white" "....when we asked what kind of white, what kind of wine, grapes, flavor, etc. we got a grumpy (unintelligible) response. He merely moved onto "wine 2-a sweet". We asked for a tasting sheet to understand what we had in front of us, and he became even grumpier. We noticed there were more dry whites and lots of dry reds, and meekly asked to only do the dry reds. Out of nowhere he brings out bottles of random balsamic vinegar and vanilla extract and suggested we try these instead of wine-but we declined. Maybe we should have because the dry red wines he poured tasted as if they were all skunked. They tasted like took pre-used barrels from making his liquor to make one same red table wine, and then bottled this same wine into a variety of different labels based on it being from a different barrel each. Worst wine we've even had. We weren't given the time to learn anything about the wine, heck he wouldn't even tell us what some blends were blended with. We'd ask and he'd merely repeat the name of the wine and move on to the next. We were pushed in and out in less than 10 minutes.

At that time, the flights were served in "glasses" as they should be. Please see attached photos. -7/4/25 (2nd Visit) We came for the Fourth of July holiday. When we arrived at the winery, we noticed the winery appeared to be much larger. Later, we realized that this was an addition to the original tasting room. We came to the counter. I asked if they had wine flights. The young woman informed me that 4 tastings were $20 and 6 for $30. She was absolutely delightful. So we chose the 6 for $30. This flight was given to us in "plastic containers". I'd like to say that there were quite a few people in the winery. However, I noticed that they didn't order flights. That being said, I think they could've taken the time out to have the flights in glasses. After ther flight, I ordered a "glass"of the Traminette $10. It was served in plastic cup. I did mention to the server that it should be in a "wine glass". She poured the wine from the plastic cup into the glass. (At this point, the plastic negatively affects wine by altering its taste, aroma, and overall quality). I'm sure "management" has given instructions to their employees on how to serve wine flights etc... So I'm not faulting the servers. During our visit, we shared a chicken sandwich. It was very good. All the servers behind the counter were very courteous and sweet. My issue is with the management. I don't know what happened from a couple years ago to now, maybe management change? My photos from almost 3 years ago, show the flight served in glasses, not plastic. Anyway, we did have a very nice visit despite the issue with the plastic. The grounds of the vineyards are very nice to walk about. We did walk back to the original wine tasting building. It was totally refurbished from our original visit. A large picturesque tree stump parking lot is in front of the winery. Oceane Vineyards has a lot of wonderful potential. Some of their wines we thought were good. In fact, we purchased a very nice bottle of 2017 Riesling $30.00. I would've given the winery a higher score, if the flight and glass of wine weren't in plastic.

We arrived before sunset and enjoyed sipping on a flight of 6 wines while watching the sun go down. The views are scenic and serene...one can imagine almost being transported to the hills of Italy. As it was the cusp of twilight, what was really neat was that we got to see the sunset on one side and the moonrise on the other. For our flight, we tried the following wines: Whites: 1. NY Hibernette 2. Cali Chardonnay 3. Riesling Reds: 1. California Rosé 2. California Pinot Noir 3. Cali Cabernet Sauvignon The rosé was probably my favorite, so clear and fragrant, and we took a bottle home. John who I think is the manager (guy with shaved head and goatee) was very personable and came by to check on the customers and chat, and told us a bit about the history of the place. The property is 200 acres and is a passionate project of the owner Tom. There is lots of space for littles to run around and explore, with some games and toys set out for kids. The atmosphere is relaxed but lively, and there was a band playing. The rustic aesthetic of the barn is very cool, with several stalls to hang out in if you wanted to retreat to a more private space, and an event hall upstairs. We got nibblish toward the end of the evening and the kitchen was about to close, but they were kind to still take the orders of a couple of late stragglers like us. The food is typical bar fare, good enough for sopping up alcohol. Staff were all kind, welcoming, and accommodating. 5 stars for the fantastic atmosphere, hospitality, and experience. We went here on a random Wednesday afternoon so we basically had the orchard to ourselves. The first parking lot you see is for their store, you have to keep driving up for the u-pick orchard. There you check in to pay your admission fee, get your wristband, and get your apple picking bag(s). They give you a map where the ripe apples are highlighted for you. My favorite apples were the honeycrisp and snap dragons. They grow vegetables too but honestly we didn't explore the orchard that much (it was huge) so the only other thing I picked besides apples was a tomato, which I felt like was pretty difficult to find a good one. I handed out the apples to other friends and colleagues and they all liked them! There's something different about picking the apple straight off the tree than the apples you would normally just buy at a grocery store. It's a lot crispier when you pick them yourself! The store has apple cider doughnuts! Now being that I am a Californian where we don't have this apple picking culture, I was wondering what all the hype around apple cider doughnuts was about. NOW I GET IT they're so good! Unfortunately since we went on a weekday the doughnuts weren't fresh (they make them fresh on the weekends) so some of them were stale, but most were still good. It's honestly more of a cake than a doughnut, but so good! The doughnuts are self serve towards the back. The store also had a cat on the prowl haha We ended up not even having time to visit the petting zoo, but overall I think my colleagues had a good time here and I would recommend this orchard for anyone trying to have a no frills apple picking experience. I believe there was like a building restroom closer to the store and port o potties closer to the u-pick orchard.
