Tomasello Winery at Abma's Farm - Absolutely Marvelous!

Tomasello Winery at Abma's Farm

Tomasello winery has a tasting room at Abmas farm in Wyckoff. I called in the morning to make a reservation for a Friday early afternoon. Nobody returned my call after an hour and a half so I tried calling again. Someone answered and took my reservation for 2. There's plenty of parking around the property, but I really wouldn't suggest visiting when they're busy (weekends, autumn). Pamela and Lauren were serving the wines and took care of everyone. They wanted to ensure everybody got wines that enjoyed. We weren't crazy about too many of the wines, but did find a couple we liked. We really enjoyed the Rkatsiteli wine and bought 3 bottles. You can't bring food from outside into the experience, but you can purchase food from the farm's market. We got some port cheese spread and breadsticks. The market charges a 2 percent credit card fee, but the wine tasting room doesn't charge a fee. If you reserve at least 48 hours in advance, you can purchase charcuterie boxes. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to provide some water during the tasting experience. This is typical at wineries as tasters want to cleanse their palates and glasses.

The farm itself has a really nice petting zoo for the kids and the market food is really good. The woman at the front of the Tomasello winery room was rude and condescending. When she found out we were walk-ins, she mocked us mimicking a rotary phone telling us that we needed to call for a reservation because it was a Saturday and they were very busy. There were multiple seats open and she did agree to sit us. While there, multiple other walk-ins were also seated. The wine itself was not my taste. It was overly sweet or tasted watered down. I honestly struggled to finish the tasting. My feelings were shared by the other 4 people in my group. In summary, the atmosphere was enjoyable, the front desk lady was rude, the wine was not my taste, but the GF donuts in the market were amazing. The tasting was $16. You received 6 tastings about an ounce and a free wine glass.

The live music added a great touch, and it was lovely to relax with friends in the crisp autumn air. Service was friendly, but there were a few letdowns. Seating is limited, so be prepared to stand or get cozy. The cider was underwhelming and not served very cold, which took away from the experience. The charcuterie came in a plastic to-go box and was pretty basic--not quite what you'd expect from such a picturesque setting. Also worth noting: the bathrooms are porta-potties, which might be a dealbreaker for some.

We came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy at all. We opted for the sweet wine flight to share. The wines started off as follows: 1. Waywayanda white 2. Summer fields 3. Harvest time 4. International red 5. Ruby's kiss The first wine was very light and bland tasting for my opinion. My boyfriend loved it and actually bought a bottle of it. Summer fields was sweeter but definitely a lighter style wine. Three tasted like a Christmas season mulled wine but was absolutely delicious. Four was a very dry wine. I left that for my boyfriend to drink as I was not a fan. He enjoyed it and said it was crisp and a nice cold red. Ruby's kiss as always is delicious and a great drink. Taking away a star because we had politely asked our service what the Apple Dave's Distillery was next door and she responded with such attitude and disgust that was asked "that's an entirely separate business" and then abruptly left our table. Not sure what the issue was asking a simple question but it left a weird vibe I did not enjoy.

A well-known Vineyard that is definitely worth visiting. We stopped by this time because we were in…read morethe area and saw there were reservations available. The weather wasn't ideal for a winery visit, but it was still a lovely experience. I'll definitely try to book a reservation again during the warmer months to enjoy it even more. We did both the white and red tasting flights, and they were both very good. We also ordered the Margherita pizza, which was very tasty. The service was excellent throughout our visit. Looking forward to exploring more options on our next trip!

I saw Del Vino and they are so cute on social media. Now, I didn't expect them to be as big on the inside but they can hold a massive amount of people. I'm talking big reservations and these really nice communal round tables so you can talk to everyone. We purchased a couple bottles for the table and I also tried their frozen sangria and apple sangria. I liked the frozen red sangria but I thought the seasonal apple flavor was a bit too sweet for my liking. My sister drank it instead. But the food! The food! It's meant to be family style and shareable with great portions! You gotta get the meatballs! You gotta get the Cesar salad. You also gotta get the tomato based pasta With the meatballs. And the flatbread pizza with crispy bacon sent me to an ethereal place. It was so dang good! They have this insanely good dollop of ricotta cheese with the pasta. Mmmmmm I'm stilling thinking about it! Just go! Just get out of my face and go! Please remember to make a reservation my email or calling. And if you don't get their through they're so great on social media. We made a last minute reservation and I confirmed it through Instagram for like 8ppl. They were so gracious! And they have outdoor seating, best for warmer months obviously, but the inside is massive. The property is beautiful. Go!

-1st Visit to Ocean Vineyards was almost 3 years ago. The…read moretasting room was a small housing area in the back with outdoor table and chairs. At that time, the flights were served in "glasses" as they should be. Please see attached photos. -7/4/25 (2nd Visit) We came for the Fourth of July holiday. When we arrived at the winery, we noticed the winery appeared to be much larger. Later, we realized that this was an addition to the original tasting room. We came to the counter. I asked if they had wine flights. The young woman informed me that 4 tastings were $20 and 6 for $30. She was absolutely delightful. So we chose the 6 for $30. This flight was given to us in "plastic containers". I'd like to say that there were quite a few people in the winery. However, I noticed that they didn't order flights. That being said, I think they could've taken the time out to have the flights in glasses. After ther flight, I ordered a "glass"of the Traminette $10. It was served in plastic cup. I did mention to the server that it should be in a "wine glass". She poured the wine from the plastic cup into the glass. (At this point, the plastic negatively affects wine by altering its taste, aroma, and overall quality). I'm sure "management" has given instructions to their employees on how to serve wine flights etc... So I'm not faulting the servers. During our visit, we shared a chicken sandwich. It was very good. All the servers behind the counter were very courteous and sweet. My issue is with the management. I don't know what happened from a couple years ago to now, maybe management change? My photos from almost 3 years ago, show the flight served in glasses, not plastic. Anyway, we did have a very nice visit despite the issue with the plastic. The grounds of the vineyards are very nice to walk about. We did walk back to the original wine tasting building. It was totally refurbished from our original visit. A large picturesque tree stump parking lot is in front of the winery. Oceane Vineyards has a lot of wonderful potential. Some of their wines we thought were good. In fact, we purchased a very nice bottle of 2017 Riesling $30.00. I would've given the winery a higher score, if the flight and glass of wine weren't in plastic.

The…read moreestate is sprawling, with sweeping lawns, a spacious brewery & restaurant housed inside a beautiful converted stable, a tasting room, and of course, vineyards. The tasting room is easy to miss as it's in a house in the back, and felt like we stumbled upon a hidden gem as most people were out by the barn. We arrived before sunset and enjoyed sipping on a flight of 6 wines while watching the sun go down. The views are scenic and serene...one can imagine almost being transported to the hills of Italy. As it was the cusp of twilight, what was really neat was that we got to see the sunset on one side and the moonrise on the other. For our flight, we tried the following wines: Whites: 1. NY Hibernette 2. Cali Chardonnay 3. Riesling Reds: 1. California Rosé 2. California Pinot Noir 3. Cali Cabernet Sauvignon The rosé was probably my favorite, so clear and fragrant, and we took a bottle home. John who I think is the manager (guy with shaved head and goatee) was very personable and came by to check on the customers and chat, and told us a bit about the history of the place. The property is 200 acres and is a passionate project of the owner Tom. There is lots of space for littles to run around and explore, with some games and toys set out for kids. The atmosphere is relaxed but lively, and there was a band playing. The rustic aesthetic of the barn is very cool, with several stalls to hang out in if you wanted to retreat to a more private space, and an event hall upstairs. We got nibblish toward the end of the evening and the kitchen was about to close, but they were kind to still take the orders of a couple of late stragglers like us. The food is typical bar fare, good enough for sopping up alcohol. Staff were all kind, welcoming, and accommodating. 5 stars for the fantastic atmosphere, hospitality, and experience. Located near Sugar Loaf and Warwick NY, with plenty to do in the area!
