Great little local winery and vineyard. Our volunteer sever was great. Beautiful grounds to have a picnic and trails to walk. We were here on a rainy day but the tasting is under a tent so crisis averted. The wines were diverse in grapes and flavor profile. The prices were great and they prefer cash but accept cards. Can't wait to come back in better weather and enjoy some time.

This is the wine tasting room or bar area. Very nice inside.

Cool place we stumbled upon kinda. We were in the area of high point state park and looked for a local winery. The place was great we got 10 tastings for $10 and they gave us a plate of chocolates. The man behind the bar was very friendly. And the people also there for the tasting were nice also. They offered us some cheese that they had.

    Just another day in paradise...

First, this family is passionate about their wines! Incredible attention to detail and quality is the hallmark of great vino and these folks are all about making great wine. Also, a visit to their winery feels like you are at a family picnic because they treat you so well. You can sit out amongst the vines and sip great wine with your friends. If you do not have any friends don't worry because this place puts everyone in the friendly mood! Finally, forget what you may think about wines at a NJ winery. Gene and family are turning out liquid gold. One sip and you will believe!

Most NJ wines are fruity and sweet, well Ventimiglia wines are truly the exception. If you like well balanced, mature and re-fined wines then you will truly appreciate Ventimiglia Wines. They have a wonderful mouth feel, giving you a lovely finish. Gene the wine maker is truly a magician at blending wines, ensuring that each varietal that is added to the blend improves the overall balance of the blend. The winery is located in a beautiful part of NJ, in Sussex county. It is a lovely drive, and a perfect location for a picnic. Visiting the winery is like visiting a dear friends house, because Gene is so gracious. His knowledge of wine making is impressive, and he is clearly passionate about wine making and his wines. As one reviewer noted very often when I have visited wineries in Ca, NY, or Az, there are one or two wines that really make me say... WOW... . This is just not the case with Ventimigilia wines, each one is distinct, and well balanced. it is very hard for me to visit the winery and not come home with a case of wine. I have had many Cabernet franc wines from NJ and have never found one I liked, but His Cabernet Franc is outstanding, Medium body with some light fruit and just enough tannins to make it a pleasure to drink,. If you like an old school full bodied blend then the Fratelli blend is for you, with cab fran, cab sav, and merlot. Now i like whites but am often disappointed with NJ whites, either they are really sweet or have no body. This is not the case with gene's whites, his chardonnay is the perfect summer white, nice medium body, not overwhelming oak and just enough brightness to make you take notice. The winery was featured at the 2010 crystal spring food and wine festival, take a look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYQcF_CVzew&feature=share

One of my top three wineries in New Jersey I recommend visiting this winery. I'm a red lover but also enjoyed their whites. The owner stayed he doesn't like to be bored while he was giving us a tasting, which you can tell from the variety and complexity of their wines.

What a delight off the beaten path down a gravel driveway. A tiny vineyard with some outside seating and a small tasting room. Had a fantastic time with Diane who not only was knowledgeable about the wines but gave us insight into the owners. Tastings are 5 for $5. Or all 14 wines for $10. We optted for the 5 since we had plans for another stop today. Enjoyed all 5. Prices range from $13 to $37. Loved the history behind the Carignane. Almost all grapes are New Jersey grown. Will make another trip just to meet Gene & Anne and enjoy all 14. This is the only winery worth visiting in the area.

Several others were enjoying wine, food and the live music! We ordered 2 wine flights and a yummy fruit and cheese board. Other food is available too. The self guided wine flight included 4 samples, logo wine glass and a description of each wine ($12.00). The Dry Riesling sampler was the highlight! The other sampler wines were pretty good. We did order a glass of the Seyval Blanc and Monet. Both wines were nice. Customer service was pretty good. I know it was a self guided wine flight, but the only improvement would be the outdoor servers having some knowledge of the wine. Clearview Vineyard is located up a twisted hill. Parking is available. A very pleasant way to spend a day!

We came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy at all. We opted for the sweet wine flight to share. The wines started off as follows: 1. Waywayanda white 2. Summer fields 3. Harvest time 4. International red 5. Ruby's kiss The first wine was very light and bland tasting for my opinion. My boyfriend loved it and actually bought a bottle of it. Summer fields was sweeter but definitely a lighter style wine. Three tasted like a Christmas season mulled wine but was absolutely delicious. Four was a very dry wine. I left that for my boyfriend to drink as I was not a fan. He enjoyed it and said it was crisp and a nice cold red. Ruby's kiss as always is delicious and a great drink. Taking away a star because we had politely asked our service what the Apple Dave's Distillery was next door and she responded with such attitude and disgust that was asked "that's an entirely separate business" and then abruptly left our table. Not sure what the issue was asking a simple question but it left a weird vibe I did not enjoy.

At that time, the flights were served in "glasses" as they should be. Please see attached photos. -7/4/25 (2nd Visit) We came for the Fourth of July holiday. When we arrived at the winery, we noticed the winery appeared to be much larger. Later, we realized that this was an addition to the original tasting room. We came to the counter. I asked if they had wine flights. The young woman informed me that 4 tastings were $20 and 6 for $30. She was absolutely delightful. So we chose the 6 for $30. This flight was given to us in "plastic containers". I'd like to say that there were quite a few people in the winery. However, I noticed that they didn't order flights. That being said, I think they could've taken the time out to have the flights in glasses. After ther flight, I ordered a "glass"of the Traminette $10. It was served in plastic cup. I did mention to the server that it should be in a "wine glass". She poured the wine from the plastic cup into the glass. (At this point, the plastic negatively affects wine by altering its taste, aroma, and overall quality). I'm sure "management" has given instructions to their employees on how to serve wine flights etc... So I'm not faulting the servers. During our visit, we shared a chicken sandwich. It was very good. All the servers behind the counter were very courteous and sweet. My issue is with the management. I don't know what happened from a couple years ago to now, maybe management change? My photos from almost 3 years ago, show the flight served in glasses, not plastic. Anyway, we did have a very nice visit despite the issue with the plastic. The grounds of the vineyards are very nice to walk about. We did walk back to the original wine tasting building. It was totally refurbished from our original visit. A large picturesque tree stump parking lot is in front of the winery. Oceane Vineyards has a lot of wonderful potential. Some of their wines we thought were good. In fact, we purchased a very nice bottle of 2017 Riesling $30.00. I would've given the winery a higher score, if the flight and glass of wine weren't in plastic.

The tasting room is easy to miss as it's in a house in the back, and felt like we stumbled upon a hidden gem as most people were out by the barn. We arrived before sunset and enjoyed sipping on a flight of 6 wines while watching the sun go down. The views are scenic and serene...one can imagine almost being transported to the hills of Italy. As it was the cusp of twilight, what was really neat was that we got to see the sunset on one side and the moonrise on the other. For our flight, we tried the following wines: Whites: 1. NY Hibernette 2. Cali Chardonnay 3. Riesling Reds: 1. California Rosé 2. California Pinot Noir 3. Cali Cabernet Sauvignon The rosé was probably my favorite, so clear and fragrant, and we took a bottle home. John who I think is the manager (guy with shaved head and goatee) was very personable and came by to check on the customers and chat, and told us a bit about the history of the place. The property is 200 acres and is a passionate project of the owner Tom. There is lots of space for littles to run around and explore, with some games and toys set out for kids. The atmosphere is relaxed but lively, and there was a band playing. The rustic aesthetic of the barn is very cool, with several stalls to hang out in if you wanted to retreat to a more private space, and an event hall upstairs. We got nibblish toward the end of the evening and the kitchen was about to close, but they were kind to still take the orders of a couple of late stragglers like us. The food is typical bar fare, good enough for sopping up alcohol. Staff were all kind, welcoming, and accommodating. 5 stars for the fantastic atmosphere, hospitality, and experience. Cramped with lots of liquor, oils, and wines-with loads of signs around displaying the 'rules of the winery' (not your typical intoxicated people won't get served, but literal how he does the tasting rules) Entering the winery, we overheard the owner speaking with another group. He sounded passionate; discussing 'old world wine' and had a lot of wines to run through ...we got our hopes up-but our excitement quickly went away. Our tasting experience was very disappointing. We checked in with our passport (the normal tasting would have been $7 for 7 wines), and we informed of the many rules posted around (like no sharing), and learned apparently another rule is no choosing which wines. The man just started pouring: "Wine 1-a white" "....when we asked what kind of white, what kind of wine, grapes, flavor, etc. we got a grumpy (unintelligible) response. He merely moved onto "wine 2-a sweet". We asked for a tasting sheet to understand what we had in front of us, and he became even grumpier. We noticed there were more dry whites and lots of dry reds, and meekly asked to only do the dry reds. Out of nowhere he brings out bottles of random balsamic vinegar and vanilla extract and suggested we try these instead of wine-but we declined. Maybe we should have because the dry red wines he poured tasted as if they were all skunked. They tasted like took pre-used barrels from making his liquor to make one same red table wine, and then bottled this same wine into a variety of different labels based on it being from a different barrel each. Worst wine we've even had. We weren't given the time to learn anything about the wine, heck he wouldn't even tell us what some blends were blended with. We'd ask and he'd merely repeat the name of the wine and move on to the next. We were pushed in and out in less than 10 minutes.
