I get my nails done here a lot and I've always been a big fan of Donna's. The staff is incredibly friendly and does a great job with my nails every time. I usually get the gel manicure and a pedicure which comes out to about $40+ but well worth it. As for the service, there are times that this place can get pretty busy (particularly weekends and lunch times). I would call ahead to see if they have any openings or even make an appointment. I always do walk ins which they are okay with as well. Overall, very attentive and friendly staff who do awesome jobs. They trimmed the tips I already had on to keep the length I wanted while allowing my nails to grow so the next time I go I will only have my natural nails thanks to the SNS powder allowing nail growth, which is something I didn't know about until the first time I visited and they informed me about it and helped me choose what to do with my nails! I let the owners know I was getting my nails done right before I went away to Florida to go to Walt Disney World and they brought up the idea of adding some themed stickers with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and comic book details! I went with the "Poof!" to keep it subtle yet still in the theme. After totally giving up on manicures I decided to try Donna Nail Spa. And so far I have been very happy here. The staff are cheerful and pleasant and speak English. The shop itself is very clean and bright. I work with my hands so typical manicure only last about three days before it's chipped off my fingers. The same can be said for gel manicures, which I don't care for because I don't wanna stick my hands under UV light unnecessarily. So I have been doing the powder gel manicures and I'm thrilled with the results. The manicures last a good three weeks. Great nail salon! Joan and her staff ( I can only rememer Sarah and Nina's names) are all experts and perfectionists when it comes to nails, waxing and massage! Sarah especially can create amazing art on your finger nails in matter of seconds! I love that Joan doesn't push you to do the most expensice treatment they offer in the salon but instead assess's your nails and explains to you why one treatment would work better than the other. I highly recommend that you leave it up to her and go with whatever she says! Usually I get a tip set and by the end of the first week I've either broken or cracked or the entire tip has lifted but not so the case here. I went a full 2 weeks and they were still like new. I like that they staff both men and women so that if you want a more aggressive pedicure or massage they got varying levels of intesity to accomodate. read more

I think I'll be going to this place more often! It's difficult to find a nail salon that delivers on not only making your nails look great, but also one that provides great service as well. I enjoyed my time at Clearview Donna Nail's and I think Joyce did a great job with both my manicure and pedicure. Granted, I only got the regular treatment for both, but that's really all I get anyway at a nail salon. The place was nice and quiet, scheduling an appointment wasn't a problem, and I appreciated how the polishes were all neatly color coded on the side of the wall. Sometimes when the polishes are displayed randomly, they can look unorganized and I feel like I'm spending more time than I should trying to compare or find certain shades, but this place made choosing a color stress free! This place was refreshingly good! I am so tired of the nail salons in Bayside/Whitestone not being up to par. I only stayed in the front of the salon, but from what I could see everything was clean. I had asked for red and gold ombré nails for the holiday, and they really did a great job! I've gotten so many compliments, and after two weeks you can barely see growth. My mom had come with me, and she's usually not completely satisfied with nail salons. However, this time she said this is the best nail shaping she's ever gotten and cannot stop talking about her nails. It's the day before my engagement shoot, and I find my go to nail salon randomly closed for vacation! At this point, I haven't gotten my eyebrows or nails done in about two weeks, knowing that I wanted everything fresh for my photo shoot. Let the stress commence! After driving to a few different salons and seeing they had big waits, I decided to go back to Donna Nails. I used to come here when I was a kid, but I haven't been here in YEARS. I think the last time was probably my high school prom. I was a little nervous, but at this point, didn't have much of a choice. I was taken right away, and luckily I brought my own color because the first thing I noticed was that they had a very limited selection of Essie colors. I liked that everything seemed very clean...they line the pedicure bath with plastic, which I've never seen before but appreciated. My manicure and pedicure came out good as did my eyebrows. I'm really picky about the quality of my nails and I am 100% satisfied every time with how they come out and how long they last. I get get fill-ins and Joan is a goddess with them. She is precise and takes her time to make sure I am pleased. It gets crowded from time to time but I can't get angry at a business for having too many customers. read more

But I went this weekend because this was the only place that was able to do my nails without waiting. The chinese girl acts so snobby and rude and wears the shortest skirt . Had my gel manicure done by one of the Korean ladies (not the one who sits directly behind the front desk) and she was SO rude. She rushed and finished my sloppy looking manicure in almost 15 minutes. I got a half-assed hand massage with the lotion and I had gel Polish stuck to the bottom of my fingers by the time she was finished. She never bothered to polish up with nail polish remover around or under my fingers. When she painted my first nail with the color I chose, I realized i didn't like it and asked to try a different color. Instead of providing good caring customer service, she replied with "when I asked you before what color you said white this is white." I told her yes, but I see how it looks and I'd like to change it. She rolled her eyes, proceeded to pick another color that fit the description I was looking for, began to paint my nails and never asked if this new color was what I was looking for. Not once did she ask how I thought it looked. Was looking for a relaxing self care moment but instead left stressed with a lousy manicure. Omg STAY AWAY. By far the worst manicure and service i have ever had in a salon. Went in on a Friday morning. It wasn't even really busy - I'd say full but not overwhelming. The girl doing my nails must have been the owner or manager. She was so overwhelmed and distracted - by not much happening might i add- she did a terrible job on my nails. Kept skipping nails and skipping steps because she kept getting called upon. My nails were filed so crooked and uneven i had to bring it to her attention because she was going to leave it like that due to her rushing and just not paying attention. Then she cut my cuticles AFTER they were painted ??? Wtf? I have never seen or heard of this before. When i got home i had to completely re file and re shape my nails and remove all of the excess nail polish off. Terrible stay away. read more

This is the second time they don't listen to the customer, I will not makes this another visit. I'm done. Just file my nails and don't cut i would like them a little longer. They cut, they filed like 3 times. nails are so short, why even bother putting polish on them, they are now stubs.they were longer than my skin when i walked in and now they are shorter than my skin. My pedicure was terrible, i still have to go and do my own stone on my heels. they did a mani, pedi, waxing in less than 40 minutes, because they just rushed, cut, filed and get out. No, no no very disappointed. I live up the block so i wanted this place to be my go- to SO BAD but its just horrible. I tried to give it a shot few times thinking oh they were busy or they're closing soon but no. My mom and I went to go in for a mani-pedi and the place was empty, i was excited to get some good treatment thinking they wouldn't rush, but boy was i wrong. BOTH OF US were rushed so much and for two mani pedis it was awfully expensive. If im going to pay that much, treat me like a human. So im already ticked off halfway through my rushed pedicure as my lady is supposedly buffing my heels, while shes looking at the women doing my moms nails talking in their language which is incredible rude. So my pedicure is done (took less than 10 min) and its time for my manicure. I politely asked the lady to give me two min as i was finishing something I immediatley had to send into work on the iPad. She yelled at me telling me she had "more customers" meanwhile there was no one in the place and it was snowing out. She came back two seconds later just grabbing my hand about to do my nails in my pedicure chair after i had asked to give me a few. I guess what she meant by "more customers" was that she was impatiently waiting to sit in the chair as her coworker did HER nails (but apparently she couldnt wait two min for mine). I never get worked up but this really pissed me off, good job losing two good clients. If you are going to run an expensive business, run it effectively. read more

I went in yesterday for an oriental pedicure ($18) and uv gel fill-in with gel color ($40) and I loved everything about it! The oriental pedicure comes with a honey scrub and hot stone massage, giving it a spa pedi experience at an amazing price. I usually get acrylic on my nails, but Joan explained the benefits of uv gel so I gave it a shot. My nails feel light, they were shaped beautifully and meticulously! I didn't feel like she was rushing through, as she carefully cut, shaped and colored my nails. I've gotten so many compliments on my nails today and I'm so obsessed with the quality of their service. Clearview Donna's is my new go-to salon. I will definitely come back and recommend it to anyone who wants high quality manis and pedis at a reasonable price. read more

Disrespected for the last time. Will not frequent this place again. This nail salon used to be very good when the original Donna owned and operated it. If you had to wait, she would explain that and estimate wait time if you asked. Once again today, I went in, wanting gel manicure, pedicure and eyebrow wax. They took 5 other people first who all walked in after me. Last time I was there, I was left "soaking" my gel manicure polish off for one hour, before anyone came back to me to proceed with the manicure. Again on that visit, they serviced everyone else first including those without appointments. I am not a weekly customer but have certainly gone there enough, to expect that I would be taken before other walk ins, if I had arrived first. 5 others walking in after me today and being taken first, is just plain disrespect. I walked out today. Also, salon is not top notch as it was under Donna. Donna kept every thing immaculate and now the best worker who gave divine pedicures (Grace) and who had been there forever recently resigned. ( Wonder why??).
