Where do I start? This is by far the BEST customer service I have experienced in a long time--in ANY type of business! We first contacted Clear Defense after seeing great reviews on our Next Door app. We contacted them on a Saturday morning after finding some evidence of a mouse (gross!). The owner, Chase, quickly called us on his personal cell phone! and spent a long time patiently and clearly explaining what they would do, how they would do it, and why they do it. We were very glad to hear that they are more "green" than the big name pest control companies, and they treat with a conservative but effective approach. Anyway, they were full for the next few days, but they graciously squeezed us into their super busy schedule on Monday because they knew we were worried about our problem worsening. Our technician, Michael Jackson, was extremely professional, friendly, helpful, and thorough. He didn't get to our house until about 7 pm and still had two houses left that evening, but he had a great attitude and made me feel very confident about our pest control! Later that night after he left, we discovered more evidence of a mouse, so I called the company to see if maybe Mike could swing back by and set a couple more traps. Because it was so late, they were closed and I left a voicemail. Less than 20 minutes later I got a call from Chase, the owner, who volunteered to come over after work and see what he could do. He had already worked an extremely long day, but very happily came over (after 9 pm, no less!) and got on his hands and knees to plug some holes in our cabinets and set more traps. He was beyond friendly, and set our minds at ease about our mouse problem. He even encouraged us to call him personally if we continued to have issues. Since that initial treatment, we have received several phone calls to follow up and check on us! (We also haven't seen bugs or mice.) We really feel cared for as people, not just another paid bill. We will recommend this company to EVERYONE we encounter. I just can't say enough good things about them! Everyone should use them! Ps. I found Cleardefense through a search online, and my husband handled the set up of our appointments. Though he is a budget conscious individual, we were hoping that the slightly higher price of this company's yearly services would be worth it. After observing their work ethic during the first two visits, we are both very happy with spending the extra money. The appointment was set up promptly, and according to my husband, they answered his questions easily and completely. Jeff Elrod was the first technician who came out to spray the inside of our home. Our main problem is ants, and the little bait droplets he left had the ants feasting in no time, then sent them back to their nest. Within a day or two we had our kitchen back! It's been about five days since the treatment, and I am still pleased with the results. I can finally set a plate down without a desperate ant eyeing it. Jeff explained to my husband the cyclical nature of the ants and the possibility of multiple queens, so they perform a follow-up in about 30 days, which was very reassuring. He sprayed the rest of the house thoroughly, and was very knowledgeable and personable - my husband had a great time talking to him. Because of heavy rains on the evening of our first appointment, Jeff was only able to service the inside. That weekend they were able to send another technician, Chris Timm, to do the initial spray on the outside. Once again, my husband was impressed with the work ethic, knowledge, and friendliness of this company's technicians. Chris was thorough with all of the numerous ant hills in our yard, and he even addressed some of the spiderwebs lurking in the corners outside. We're definitely glad we decided to give them a try. We took the plunge in signing up for the yearly service instead of just a spot treatment for the ants, and I think it was the right decision. If the service continues to be as excellent as our first two treatments, I will happily recommend them to everyone I know. read more

Phiilip from ClearDefense Pest Control showed up today for a scheduled service and notified us when he arrived on the property, to let us know he was here so we could get pets in the house, but he also asked how he could help with any other services, like in house, in garage or in basement service. All of this is in our service contract but it is nice to be reminded. At the completion of his outside maintenance, he let us know that he was done, and explained what was done, and asked me one more time how he could help. I had no need for in house treatments, but it did remind me of questions i have thought about and forgot in the past concering certain pests and habits and behaviours to look out for. He answered those questions and let me know that if i had any issues or remembered anything else to call. As a customer, it is refreshing to get advance communication, communication during the visit and the personal how can i help extra effort. That skillset to take the extra step makes me appreciate the value i get for this service and reminds me of the problems we had with spiders, yellow jackets, ants and mosquitoes in the past. When you haven't had these pests in a while, you tend to forget what is was like, so taking that extra step to communicate and remind people that they are there to help is a reminder of what value i am getting for one of my routine expenses. Did i mention the mud wasps .....haven't seen them in a while either. Can't tell you pleased I've always been with ClearDefense Pest Control. I've used them for at least 3 years in two different locations and their service is always "on point". Extremely professional with most importantly the customer put first. It's a shame most companies have lost sight of "the customer first" thinking but it's a good thing to know there are still companies out there with this mindset. I don't even think I've ever written a review for anyone, any company or any product/service and I think most people only write them when they're flaming mad or crazy happy. I'm crazy happy!!! I had an issue with some very small bugs "mites" in my garage and I called ClearDefense today (Saturday) to get it taken care of and I was pleased to hear them tell me exactly what it was, that it wasn't harmful at all and that they'd be out Monday morning because all their techs were done for the day. But me, not liking any bug around me asked if it was anyway possible to get them out today. I even offered to pay extra but they professionally declined to take any extra monies and said they'd make a trip happen today somehow. They showed up 2 hours later and took care of not just the issue I had but other issues I didnt even know I had. My technician was Mark and man, he explained everything to me, made me feel confident that the problem would be taken care of and honestly before he even left all mites were "stopped in their tracks". (This is an update to my earlier review) I've been a customer of Clear Defense Pest Control for over two years now and I can say, their service is effective and top-notch. But what blows me away every time is their Customer Service. Having worked in the food industry, sales and directly in Customer Service I am keenly aware of what constitutes good service: things like courtesy, knowledge, enthusiasm, eye-contact, and attention to detail, just to name a few. Whether on the phone or in person, Clear Defense is killing it in the bug and service departments. Today, my technician Darrell, along with his trusty sidekick (trainee) Christian, met me at the door, each shook my hand, introduced themselves, spoke clearly, made eye-contact, explained what they were about to do and what I would need to do (stick around to sign) and then went to work. They were fast and efficient. When they rang my doorbell again, Darrell explained what they had done, some extra steps he'd taken to ensure good results, asked if I had any questions. They both shook my hand again and were on their way. No hassles. No mumbling. Nothing unclear about it. I specified a need for an interior touch-up and Christian came in, did the job and made polite small-talk with me. I couldn't ask for a better experience as a customer and, so long as they keep this level of quality up (and the bugs don't turn all Mothra on us) I'll be a steady customer. Keep it up! read more

We had been receiving services from a rival pest control business. Just prior to their scheduled service, we had received a timely visit from a Clear Defense employee who had done a thorough review of the house. Because we had not been unhappy with our former service, my husband and I decided to see the competitor's next service through and test our level of confidence. Unfortunately the competitor's technician, new to us, did not introduce himself and then spent more time asking personal questions than spraying the house, or so it seemed.The nosy competitor missed the outside issues Clear Defense had picked up on. Because of the discomfort at the too personal questioning and the lack of insect control, we called Clear Defense. We've just completed our first service and are happy to report the total opposite. Justin arrived right on time, introduced himself, chatted knowledgeably about the service he'd be completing and set about his business. He was personable and courteous without being forward or asking personal questions. He was able to look at a specimen of an insect that had been plaguing our back porch and knew immediately what it was and made sure to inspect the surroundings for it and treat the probable area. The treatment of the house and grounds was the most thorough I've come across. While our contract with Clear Defense is brand new, we are looking forward to this most excellent level of service in the future. read more

Extremely pleased with ClearDefense! I'm so happy they were my first and only call for handling this issue. My family just moved here a few months ago and noticed a ton of bees, wasps, and hornets around our home, which is a real problem when taking our baby out and while walking our dog. I called ClearDefense a couple of days ago, I got an estimate over the phone, they were very helpful, friendly, and able to get me an appointment right away. Our first service was June 11th, our technician Michael Jackson (not kidding, he even let me check his license lol) arrived right on time. My dog is quite the barker but Michael was understanding and very friendly to him. We went over all the areas I was concerned with and he really put my mind at ease with explaining what these bugs were up to. He went over everything he was going to do before starting. I was also impressed to know that they definitely listened to everything during my initial call and communicated even minor ant issues to Michael. He was very thorough in checking for nests all around the property. FYI he was able to get all 10 nests down (I had no idea there were so many)! The whole process was very quiet, I didn't even notice he was out there, which was great for the baby's nap time. I greatly appreciated such prompt and knowledgeable service. If you *love* having spiders, wasps and bugs in and around your home and personal space, Clear Defense Pest Control is not for you. (Because they will kill them) :) I hate bugs. Unfortunately, I live in the south and we have everything from bees to spiders to fire ants. Specifically I have aggressive wasps and recently discovered a few black widows in my garage and a few fire ant hills in the yard. My usual method of pest control is waiting for a new company to knock on my door and sell me their business and often times, false promises. Therefore, every year I am back on the hunt for a new pest control company that meets my needs. In between mediocre pest control, I trap bugs under a bowl and wait for someone to come over who is less grossed out and I make them dispose of them. It has been a struggle to say the least. :) However, my search for effective and honest pest control is finally over. Jonathan Wilcox (my tech) with Clear Defense Pest Control delivered on his promise of pest control, but for me it was a promise of peace of mind. He listened to every concern I had and patiently walked me through their process, explained the products they use, what they do and why they work. These guys do excellent job!! They do take care of you and your family! If you are looking for pest control service, they are strongly recommended!! During today's service all webs were removed and pest hot spots noted. The exterior of my home was then power-sprayed 3-4ft up, and 3-4ft out around the entire perimeter of my home taking into account the noted hot spots and cracks/crevices. All eaves and overhangs were treated during the same perimeter treatment to prevent harborage of bugs and flying insect nests. Technician named Justin Christian completed our treatment by applying a water activated granule 5-10ft out from the perimeter of my home to help create an added barrier of protection. The interior of garage was treated today using handheld sprayer. He made sure to cover the entry points, corners, and hot spots thoroughly. All webs were removed to the best of his ability and glue board monitors replaced with fresh ones. The interior of my home was treated today using hand held sprayer where the baseboard meets the ground. Treated and inspected stonework around home. A FIREANT inspection was conducted during todays service and all visible mounds were treated. He treated all temp vents around the perimeter of my home today to prevent bug entry. Light fixtures where treated during todays service to prevent webs and pest activity. read more

We recently moved into a new home and had the misfortune of discovering a few bugs we didn't know the home had. Much to our surprise, ClearDefense was in the neighborhood and stopped by to see if their services were needed. I was skeptical at first but after hearing their prices, which proved to be VERY reasonable, and the coverage they guaranteed, I became a customer very quickly! The very next day, our service tech, Tyler, showed up to my house right on time, and even called to let me know he was close, which was very thoughtful and helped me to straighten the house and get the dogs situated before his arrival. He was very kind, respectful of my house, and very knowledgeable about his products, services, and anything that crawls. He went through my house with great attention to detail and explained his process as he went along and how it would protect my house, which made me feel confident that the services were worth more than what I paid for. Tyler has given me peace of mind about any pests we may have had. I was referred to Clear Defense by our tenant who raved about them from her previous experience in her home she had owned. She'd used them for years and she only great things to say about them re: the types of products they used to the customer service to their actual service and how they treated her and her family. So, we decided the bugs/roaches were too much to handle any more and gave them a try AND WE ARE SO PLEASED! EVERY single person who's been to our properties or who I've spoken with on the phone is of the highest customer service level--it's really incredible. Brian has been our technician several times now and he blows us away with his level of service he gives our properties. He discusses any issues we may have and then gets to work. No bugs any more! And then 3 mo.ago we had an inside flea problem which I just didnt want to believe but apparently it was so -- and Brian sprayed inside and within 24 hours our cat was NO LONGER BITING AND ITCHING and in distress. Revolution&other topical products from the vet NEVER worked for him over the years and then eventually the fleas were in our house. Not any more! After dealing with a recent infestation that self-remedies were not fixing, I saw the pest that broke the camel's back. I wanted professional help. I quickly came across ClearDefense, called them after 9 PM on a weeknight, and someone answered. The representative actively listened to me while I mostly vented. She went over plan options, we made an appointment, and I hung up reassured that our problem would be solved. The next day, someone called to verify the service and appointment day/time and he too was knowledgeable on the specific pest and again, I hung up feeling confident in my decision to work with ClearDefense. My technicians, Holbrook and Keymeir, showed up at the beginning of the appointment window. They had also given me a heads up text that they were on their way about 40 minutes prior. After reiterating to them the problem and the primary areas of concern, they got right to work and were done within the hour. When they were done, Holbrook summarized what they did and his assessment of the problem and confirmed that after another 1-2 treatments our problem should be taken care of. We just moved from FL to NC and before the movers even showed up with our stuff, I found a couple little roaches making themselves to home upstairs. I found ClearDefense on Google and chose them from their stellar reviews. When I called to inquire and get pricing, I spoke to Matt who was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and really took the time to understand my situation and answer all my questions. I signed up for their quarterly service without hesitation. Just a few days later, my appointment with Darrell from ClearDefense arrived, and the excellent service continued. Darrell was also very polite and friendly. He already reviewed the notes and knew before I told him that I had cats in the house and I was worried about roaches, etc. He explained everything about what's included in the service, what all he would be doing for my initial visit, how subsequent visits would go, what to do if I saw pests in between appointments, took care of all my questions before I even had to ask. His work was thorough and he made sure I was comfortable and happy with it all before he left. I'm so glad I found this company. My good friend runs a pest control company in Atlanta, so I asked him for advice when I noticed trailing ants and other insects in my house in Charlotte. He said to stay away from the big national brands and stick with someone local. The big guys don't treat their technicians well, and they treat their customers like just another number on a spreadsheet. I then found ClearDefense, and saw that they had excellent reviews. They're based out of Durham, NC and just recently expanded into Charlotte. I spoke with Alan over the phone and immediately knew that this was a top notch group. He was straight-forward, informative, and extremely helpful. They had a technician out to my house the very next day with all the details figured out. Bill (the technician) was awesome to deal with! He explained everything he was doing and how it would be working. We're remodeling the house, so it's a complete disaster area, but that was no problem for Bill. They're prices are completely fair, and they'll come out to take care of any specific pest control issues I have along the way (even in-between scheduled services). We were unhappy with our previous pest control service. We found Cleardefense on Next Door - they came highly recommended. I called and spoke with Chase, who was amazing. Incredibly friendly and professional. He answered all of my questions and set us up for our initial visit, which was today. Our technician was Jeff Elrod, and he was just as great. He took time to describe the process and everything he was doing. He spent a lot of time at our house. He was really thorough and found issues that we didn't even know were there, like some fire ant mounds in our front yard and bees nesting in the eaves of our roof. He even took the time to carefully treat our hummingbird feeder for ants. AND he gave our toddler a book on bugs, which became an instant favorite. This company is delivering a level of customer service that is way above and beyond the competition. I love that the products they use are pet and child safe. Other companies that we have used in the past charge you an extra premium for the "safe" products. I called on a Saturday to schedule my initial visit and spoke with Bill (GM). He was very pleasant, down to earth, and professional. Said he wished he had an opening the same day so he could come out an treat my home himself, but being it was a Saturday (short business day), he needed to keep his promise to his wife and child and go to the park for family time (as a mom of four children, I liked him already!!! - way to put family first!). My technician, Chris Coffey, came out today. Very nice young man! He asked me to show him all my problem areas (lots and lots of ants) and treated it right away. He even worked quietly in the same room as my sleeping toddler and did not wake her up! He seemed very thorough and efficient. Once he was done treating the inside, he cleaned spider webs out of my garage and around the outside of the house. Even in this Charlotte heat, he took his time (about an hour outside), spraying and de-webbing the exterior. Very pleasant to work with and I hope I get the same technician next time! My wife and I recently noticed sugar ants inhabiting our home whenever it would rain. Nothing too crazy, but still enough to be annoying. I looked up pest control companies in our area and Clear Defense was the first one to pop up. I immediately saw the 5 stars and thousands of reviews. The reviews were all positive. I contacted the company right away and they were responsive and extremely professional. They had immediate availability too! Holbrook Youmans and his partner (I forget his name and I apologize, but I lost the paper!) came to my home. Both employees were extremely professional, knowledgeable (I had a few questions). They were quick, but thorough and very courteous. I have been in contact with Clear Defense since. They check regularly and timely for follow ups and are extremely responsive with any questions I might have. I would definitely recommend this company and their services to others. My wife and I immediately noticed a decrease in bug activity in our yard. We have a small patio area with our townhome but the bugs are insane in the warmer months (we live near water) and after 1 treatment we were able to sit outside in the evening and not be swarmed. read more

I had an amazing pest control company when I lived in Orlando, FL, so when I relocated to the Lake Norman area two weeks ago and started to see ants and spiders coming into my new home, I didn't hesitate to find a new pest control company. However, I was very doubtful that any company was going to stand up to my previous one. Well those doubts were easily put to rest when I contacted Clear Defense. The gentleman on the phone was nice, informative, and provided direct quotes over the phone (he was also pretty funny, good sense of humor). I was then able to schedule for a pest spray within 6 days... not bad, really competing with my previous company, again. What really sealed the deal for me to keep this business as a long term pest control company was how pleasant, informative, and "quick to get to work attitude" of my service man, Vitaliy. He did an excellent job and continued to reinforce the idea that all people at his company are nice, hard working, and dedicated to their company... which are all the things I loved of my one in Orlando... Today, after a long time I have developed faith in a pest control company. Before using Clear Defense Pest Control I used many other companies.They all left me disappointed and I started taking care of the bugs myself but I needed someone professional to go in nooks and crannies. So after my failed effort to keep up with the pests. I had no choice but to pray for a company who will provide the professional and effective service. I called Clear Defense Pest Control . MY experience with them from the first phone call to the day of service been excellent. They kept me updated on their exact time of arrival. When Brian came in the house to spray he was so informative and polite. He told me of the ants that I didn't even know were creating a hill. He took care of the hornets nests which I thought was at one location but there were several.
