Many pavers are cracked, have chunks missing from them and/or are missing. The entry one side has a brick missing from it and no cement poured for that brick, and the entry on the other side has several hugely flawed pavers. It almost looks like they used factory seconds for the project. There are also issues with the snub nosed bricks cemented in around the pool, with cracks and chunks missing. Again it looks like they used factory seconds. Worst of all they have not been responsive in getting us a firm date to make repairs. They said they we coming on a Friday recently to make repair, but never showed, called to tell us they were not coming, or called to reschedule. we have not heard from them for 10 days since they missed their appointment. In short, they just don't seem to care. I would be very careful contracting with them to build a pool. I hope someday soon I will be able to give them a better rating

I was trying to get a quote from these guys, however, they didn't think my desires would pass HOA…read moreapproval so they wanted me to get approval from the HOA before they did anything. I have some plans drawn up but they aren't complete and where they might be complete they're more than I'm doing and so I'm not ready to have those submitted. The bottom line for me is that if I was going to go through that whole process myself, I would build my own pool. It would be immensely cheaper I'm sure. Rick was a nice guy but I'm sure he and the company have a lot going on so my business wasn't crucial. Anyway, I recommend finding a company to actually help you in the process and not make it harder. This might be too much to ask at this point in time as the companies are all very busy, however, some better service is definitely preferable. As I have other companies willing to work and do the work, I will be going with them.

Ive had this service for about a year and in the beginning they did a really nice job but these…read morepast few months have been frustrating and you only get to deal with the wife. Anyways, this is the reason for the review... The past few months my pool had been building up yellow Alge AGAIN, this was an issue that I had with them in beginning that I had spoke to the wife about it. (Note: I did not have this issue with the previous pool guys) They had got in under control with chemicals and setting the pump on a different schedule. As the weeks go by I've been noticing that the pool isn't being scrubbed, algae is back, the baskets aren't getting cleaned and chlorine tablets aren't being put in. My husband does his rounds once a week on the pool himself so he was noticing things. Mostly making sure the machinery is working properly, checking the basket and what not. So finally after a few weeks of this, the guy replaces our floater for a new one and adds chlorine tabs but he threw the old one behind the pump and said we didn't have one. Idk what that was all about. Though It was a little beat up so it needed to be replaced. I was charged 10$ for that but not a big deal. Anyways, They charged me $125 for cleaning when it was just a rinsing of the filters with my water hose, which I don't care about him using my hose, I thought maybe he was going to pressure wash them with soap or something since the word "cleaning" is what she used when she texted me. We saw on the camera that he had rinsed them on my red concrete which left residue all over the place. I paid the bill and moved on. The last straw... The pool is still looking a little rough with him coming once a week and with my husband doing his little bit on the pool. I tried not to be that weirdo that's watches the camera systems but I started checking them and noticed that he will be back there for about 4-5 minutes tops. So I took pictures of it on Monday since my service day is on Tuesday hoping he'd clean it and he did not.... I really liked this company in the beginning. The owner was such a cool guy and knows a lot about pools and he took on my pool after dealing with a company that had turned out to be scammers.

Since hiring this company (Valley Pool Service) in January 2026 to perform my weekly pool service…read moreand maintain my pool, I've made three legitimate compliments. First compliment: The very first time the technician came out in January to perform my weekly pool service, he failed to complete all the services that were in my contract. So, when I was aware of this, I notified the company (owner's wife) and their technician contacted and instructed to come back. He did return and performed the services he failed to do the first time. Second complaint: Was last week (May 26th) when I noticed a heavy build up of sticky blue/black residue on the wheels/tires of my pool sweeper. So, I called the company and was advised to send a video of the wheels/tires, which I did. Plus I sent in a few still photos too. I had cleaned most of the heavy residue prior to calling the company and instructed to send a video to her. However, from the video and photos attached you can still see the sticky residue in between the grooves on the wheels/tires. In addition, I Googled what causes sticky residue on a pool sweeper to see learn what the cause could be. The results I found are shown in the photos provided. I took a sample of my pool water to a reputable pool supply store and had them run a test on the sample of water provided. They were surprised to learn the water wasn't properly balanced; the pool water was either too high (Acid -140) or on the low side (Alkalinity - 57 and so were a few other readings) see photo of test results provided. Two different companies advised me to my pool/spa drained, refilled with fresh water, and then have the correct amount of chemicals put in order to reestablish the correct balance/level of chemicals. Also stared, "If left as is without doing anything would allow the wheels/tires to further deteriorate and cause damage to the surface walls/floor of the entire pool/spa. Again, I was informed by the owner's wife on May 28th that the test results performed by their technician on May 27th is that pH reading of 7.5 was spot on. That is when Muriatic would be used -- to adjust it. I have that the last time we used Muriatic acid was in February. Once pH is set correctly, it basically stays consistent. I had him send me verification of his test yesterday and it was at 7.5 which is what it is supposed to be at. For Pool tires, they are just like car tires and get wear and tear. If you google how often vacuum pool tires need to be replaced, it will say every 1-3 years. If you would like us to replace them, we can. they cost $15/each. However, I don't think they need to be replaced at this point. That is what the company's wife/owner wrote as an explanation. She didn't address any other of the chemical readings that were off. This made me question what was the technician testing and checking during his weekly service. As the problem that I currently have should have been identified much earlier before becoming a huge problem. Third complaint: Was on May 28th, when the technician came out on May 27th, he left my gate open with the lock unlatched. This was the 2nd in less than 5 weeks my gate was left open. I travel a lot and may not be home to ensure my gate is closed correctly, locked, and secured every week. As the homeowner if someone enters my backyard and an accident occurs, I'd be the one liable for it. This was my main concern so I addressed it to the owner's wife as well. Consequently, this is the response I received back from the owner's wife... Apologize for the locked gate. I'll make sure to talk the Phoenix. You seem very unhappy with our pool service. Please find another pool company to service your pool moving forward. Unfortunately, this isn't working out. My response back to her was... No problem in finding another pool company to service my pool. I appreciate you for letting me know addressing my pool service problem(s) on three different occasions was an issue. Per your request, as of today (May 28, 2026) and moving forward your company providing my pool service is no longer required. Respectfully, My Name Note: The gate was left unlocked but she apologized for a locked gate... Smh! As a business owner and on a professional level the company, if they value their clients should be willing to address their concerns and/or complaints without terminating them. Makes one think do they value their companies reputation. I would not recommend this company to any one looking for a company to service their pool. Bottomline is pay attention to your pool. If you find a problem address your concerns. My pool will be drained, refilled, and chemicals replaced . And, my grandchildren will be able to enjoy swimming and playing in it throughout the Summer.

Freedom Pools, Fresno: 2023 Mar to Sep (2.10)…read more Putting in a swimming pool is a huge project. It took us several years of discussion before we finally took this BIG step. Just like purchasing a house, we went through several different emotions; anxiety, confusion, excitement, fear, nervousness, and absolutely stressed-out. After going over the beginning to the end of this six-month long project, I decided to break the work done by the pool company's in-house crew and average the points for this review. Our 31' X 10' swimming pool took 6-months to complete. The entire six months were filled with stress and anxiety, and we nearly called off the built. Our pool is now completed - in time for the cold season. The break-down of my review is as follows: Freedom Pool owner(s): Owner John (1 of 5) Freedom Pool: Son Brandon (3.5 of 5) Planner/Diggers: Dave & Donny (4 of 5) Cement/Pour crew: Israel, Jose, Jose, Abraham, Mario, Marcus, Saul, Julio (.5 of 5) Cement Cracker/Re-pour: Gustavo and Rogelio (3.5 of 5) Electrical: Joshe & Lie (.5 of 5) The delay and unacceptable work not only caused us time and money, we had to put our life off-track, and reschedule friends and families visit. Our family, friends and neighbors who have been following the flow of this project said I am generous with this review.

Pine Ridge Pool Care, Inc: 2025 Jan 24 (4 of 5)…read more We have Pentair pool pump. The pump stopped working for months. It was still under warranty, but it took me weeks of texts, emails, and phone calls, before Pentair finally sent a local company out to look at the pump. Cody, from Pine Ridge Pool Care, Inc came out to look at it. He immediately noticed the issue. Pentair company had installed a refurbished unit that looked like it didn't go through inspection. Cody said he'll check with them before sending the parts that works. The 'drive' was ordered the following week, and Jonathan from Pine Ridge Pool Care came out to change the broken drive. He showed us the drive that was totally mangled. Pine Ridge Pool Care, Inc. saved the pump, and the day. Zero for Pentair and 4 of 5 for Pine Ridge Pool Care, Inc. *Note: Jonathan gave me permission to post his image

I googled the problem and found videos that it could be a problem with the capacitor (ordered one online but it wasn't the capacitor), debris in the impeller (cleaned out impeller but it wasn't that either), or loose bearings (requires special tool and labor intensive to replace). Of course loose bearings was my problem (not any of the other easier to fix issues). I googled pool stores in Fresno or Clovis and came across Pool Mart and read all the good reviews. I called Chris and explained my problem and he knew right away it was the bearings. He was a great listener; since I said I had cleaned the impeller he figured I knew how to take the motor apart. He said he could fix it for $100 with a one day turn around time (or $125 labor if he has to come out). I brought it in the next day and sure enough he called me the following day saying it was fixed. Pool pump is now reinstalled and purring like a charm. While I was there to pick up my pump, Chris also answered my other pool questions around how to turn which drains on/off and fixed my leaky fountain cap for free. A few days later I called Chris for advice about my friend's neglected pool. He gave me some great advice about getting mosquito fish so I did. Now the Consolidated Mosquito Abatement District is happy and off our backs. Unfortunately for Chris, he will now be my go to person for all pool related issues.
