Holiday Pools built our pool for our new home. They have been quite slow to fix issues with our pool, which are many. Sloppy work installing the pool paver deck around the pool. Many pavers are cracked, have chunks missing from them and/or are missing. The entry one side has a brick missing from it and no cement poured for that brick, and the entry on the other side has several hugely flawed pavers. It almost looks like they used factory seconds for the project. There are also issues with the snub nosed bricks cemented in around the pool, with cracks and chunks missing. Again it looks like they used factory seconds. Worst of all they have not been responsive in getting us a firm date to make repairs. They said they we coming on a Friday recently to make repair, but never showed, called to tell us they were not coming, or called to reschedule. we have not heard from them for 10 days since they missed their appointment. In short, they just don't seem to care. I would be very careful contracting with them to build a pool. I hope someday soon I will be able to give them a better rating read more

I was trying to get a quote from these guys, however, they didn't think my desires would pass HOA approval so they wanted me to get approval from the HOA before they did anything. I have some plans drawn up but they aren't complete and where they might be complete they're more than I'm doing and so I'm not ready to have those submitted. The bottom line for me is that if I was going to go through that whole process myself, I would build my own pool. It would be immensely cheaper I'm sure. Rick was a nice guy but I'm sure he and the company have a lot going on so my business wasn't crucial. Anyway, I recommend finding a company to actually help you in the process and not make it harder. This might be too much to ask at this point in time as the companies are all very busy, however, some better service is definitely preferable. As I have other companies willing to work and do the work, I will be going with them. read more

When I was first searching for a pool company, I thought Holiday pool was the best in the area. My neighbor had his pool with Holiday and I just thought it was amazing. We negotiated our contract as they were in fact pricey. For all the items we got, I feel good about the price and the overall deliverable. The Pros: Only due to negotiation, I received more decking, pebble tec, upgraded lights, and gas line to a future BBQ pit. The workers are very nice, they try to take care of your property. They also clean up as much as possible and put up a temp fencing (for my small dog). Cons: Only one person working in the office. She is really nice, but she is definitely overwhelmed and very hard to get status or a correct schedule from. There were times where we did not have any activity for a month (not due to permits or anything like that either)! We asked for diamond tile around the steps, and they totally forgot about them. The whole time we had to call and be on top of things in order to not be missed or forgotten. The only time I did not, it was forgotten. The worst. When the pool was finally finished. The pool was dirty for about two weeks. The issue was that the pump came with no filter. A simple check list would have discovered this issue. My pool was nasty for two weeks, and was only discovered because I had hired their partner company for pool cleaning J&T. They figured out the problem after the 3rd visit, and the tech was really nice and hunt down a filter and had it installed an hour later. This is my honest and true, non-exaggerated experience. There are more negatives, too small to mention. Overall, now I am happy with the pool so far. I just hope it was built right and I don't have problems in the future. read more

After interviewing several companies in the Fresno/Clovis area, we chose Holiday Pools to build our swimming pool. We decided to go with Holiday based on their great reputation for building quality pools in a timely manner. They were also able to meet our needs with our desire to landscape our yard while the pool was being built as many other builders in our area declined to provide us a quote for this. The landscaping consisted of rebuilding half of the backyard with a sprinkler system, rebuilding the damage to the front yard from the heavy equipment, and planting trees and shrubs around the pool. The Sales/ Design Process: Our salesperson, Rick B did an in-home sales presentation and he was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He was able to answer all of our questions and came up with a design that we felt was perfect for what we wanted in our yard. His presentation included a computer rendering of what the pool would look like right down the exact measurement, and we were able to change certain things on the fly. He provided us with a quote and when we decided to go with Holiday, we signed our contract right in our home. After signing the contract, we had a short appointment at the office to choose our tile and interior. We signed a few more papers and the building process was explained. I suggest you take notes if you want to try to remember everything that is going to be happening over the next few months. The Building Process: Rick told us when we signed our contract that they would be able to complete our pool within 6-8 weeks after the initial dig started. Our digging process started on April 13th, 2017 and our pool was complete and started on June 30th, 2017 coming in at just over 11 weeks. So, what happened? Well, Holiday Pools is very busy for a reason. Their reputation and quality has them pretty stacked up with work, and with the rainy season we had this winter, it put them behind with their schedules. Early in the process we were informed when the guys would be coming over to work and things moved along rather smoothly. Around week 5 or 6 we started to notice that things were not happening very often, and after reaching out to Julie for better communication, I started to receive updates (via email - my preference) almost daily as to when things would or would not be happening. Julie did an excellent job informing me of when an event would be taking place, or when something would be delayed. I understood why the delays would be happening and felt they were acceptable reasons. With a construction project of this size, some minor mistakes are bound to occur. As long as I communicated these concerns with Julie at the front desk, they were taken care of very quickly. I really appreciated this and felt that they had a good system in place for concerns and responded well. The building crew was always polite and professional. They cleaned up after themselves daily and kept the noise down to a minimum. My wife runs an in-home daycare and they did not interrupt her daily work whatsoever. We were extremely pleased with the way they conducted their work. The Result: Our new pool is beautiful! We are so very happy to be enjoying it during this hot summer and will be enjoying it for years to come. The quality of the work that was done makes us feel like we definitely made the right choice when we chose Holiday. We have received a lot of compliments from our guests and have already thrown a nice 4th of July party. The landscaping crew also did a great job and finished their work concurrently (to the day!) with the pool crew. If I had to go back and do it all over again, I'd choose Holiday every time. read more

Decided to get a pool for the kids, and I did call them and left a VM and never got a call back, saw them at the home show in Fresno 1.5 weeks later spoke to Mike at the booth and mentioned that they never returned calls he looks in his phone and there was my request....regardless he came out 2 days later with a fairly high price with things I didn't really care about, he came over we tweaked the design and the price was much better he says he will email me the quote, GUESS WHAT, HE DOESN'T, he even txts me and says he will. What ever happened Io honesty and integrity, apparently This company lacks both.....oh well I am happier and DEFINITELY more comfortable with who I choose. So impressed with Holiday Pools! We are adding a free-standing spa to our yard, which it turns out is about the same cost as a small pool. We have had several companies give us quotes on the project and I think that's about the fastest way to conclude that there is a giant difference between Holiday and the other pool companies. It is hard to overstate Holiday's professionalism and competency. Super professional and trustworthy. One thing that really impressed me was that when Rick arrived at our house, he had already looked at our yard on Google Maps and had creative ideas for a spa. None of the other companies did that, nor did they have the kinds of solutions that Rick offered for getting power/propane to the new addition. My meeting with him was dramatically different - it is just so evident that this is what they do. Not a "here today, gone tomorrow" company and not a company that does cookie cutter work. Even in the midst of "lockdown" due to the Corona virus, communication has been fantastic. I just can't say enough good things about Rick and Holiday Pools! read more

We are a customer of Holiday pools. The main point of this review is post how they treat customers after service. Our pool was installed in 2015. The heater is leaking. It also has a waterfall from a hot tub into the pool. The stones are coming off of the waterfall. We are thinking about changing to a heat pump. For over a month, I have been trying to get them to come out and look at the issues and paying to change out the heat pump. Many messages left with the secretary and the answering machine. No response. A phone message was received from the secretary last Thursday that they would be out by the end if the week. I was at home. They never showed. This is not the first time problems with their customer service have occurred. Getting a call back from the owner is almost impossible. Buyer beware. read more

We're about 7 weeks into Holiday building our pool, and the only complaint I have is that we've been sitting and waiting for two weeks now because Holiday is too busy to get me a written price for some changes we've decided on (which should not have been a surprise on any level, as we discussed them with the pool designer before we signed off on the contract). At this point it is just silly, I call several times per day and they do not return my calls, or call me and tell me "we'll email it to you", or I get an excuse about how someone is out of the office. I get it, you guys had a few slow years and were not staffed right for the unexpected ramp up that you got this year. This is not an acceptable excuse for not communicating with the customer. I'm very happy with the quality of the work that has been done, and every crew that has been out has cleaned up after themselves very well. From the day we signed the contract up to this point I have been very disappointed with the lack of communication from Holiday. We chose them for the stellar reputation, and based on some of the conversations I had with other builders in the area, they are working at a level above their competition, but they REALLY need to work on their communication skills. C'mon guys, this is 2013, lose the yahoo.com email addresses, get serious about keeping your customers informed and responding to their attempts to communicate with you. Tomorrow I will be going down to sit in their office until they can print out the quote I have been hounding them for over the last two weeks. We'll see if they can earn a star or two back. UPDATE: I got a call back from Randy at Holiday last night to give me numbers for one of the changes. They even sent an addendum for that change via email. I went down to Holiday today, and got lots of "we'll get those addendum to you", but I have yet to see anything. I dunno, it seems to me that someone there at the office should have been able to print those out for me immediately. Of course no one was in the office (except Marty, super nice guy, unfortunately he doesn't have anything to do with the addendum). Did they earn back any stars with their performance today? Not yet. I'm about 4 weeks into the construction of our pool so I thought it would be a good time to post a review here, at least as far as dealing with Holiday Pools during construction. We interviewed 3 different builders in Fresno but decided on Holiday for a few reasons. One was the quality of the design. What I didn't realize when I first pool shopped was the design of the pool is critical. It's like the design of your home, it makes a huge difference! Their pool designer is excellent, and right away he had a pool plan that looked great, lots of custom touches, he totally understood what we wanted. It's the difference between just a hole in the ground and a custom pool. The designer/sales man, I think his name was Dave, is great. He suggested a lot of things we never would have considered, and after talking with him we realized we wanted a lot of things different than what we had originally thought. He listens to what you want but also has the experience to say don't do that, or do it this way, when necessary. Another reason was that they do most of the work themselves, some other builders subcontract almost every part of the pool. Holiday does most of the work themselves and the part they sub out they use subs that they've used for years and have a relationship with. What does that mean, it means that the crew in your back yard cares about the quality of the work because they work for the company. Just a word about pricing, what I found is that it is very difficult to do apple-to-apples pricing because there are so many variables in the construction of a pool in terms of what quality of materials are used etc. I looked at the top 3 builders here in town and the pricing was all similar. Lower quality builders will be cheaper and the construction will show that. But if you're going for the good builders, you probably won't be deciding based on price. Because they are all in the ballpark. So with our pool about 80% done, we're still happy with them. The work has been timely, some delays due to weather and some due to them working on other pools, but they are on schedule with what they told us. The crews have been very professional, they speak English, are very friendly and considerate of the noise and mess they are making. They clean up after every day's work which is awesome. I've had 2 neighbors come over and say they were the cleanest pool builders they've ever seen. The quality of their work is great, my gunnite and concrete deck look amazing, it wasn't rushed, it was done right. We should be swimming in our pool in 10 days or so so I will update my review then, but so far I'm definitely pleased with the work. Given I'm spending upwards of $60k on this thing by the time it's landscaped, it's a big decision to choose a pool builder and I have to say we've been happy with them so far. I give them 4 stars because I'm not swimming in it yet, so we will see when it's all done. One nitpick, I would have liked a little more communication from the company as to what would be happening the next day and where we were in terms of the plans a week or so at a time. I think they are so used to doing this that they forget a bit that I have no clue how things are going timewise. Update - I've had my pool 18 months now, and continue to be very satisfied with it. I had a single issue with the lights working correctly after completion and Holiday took care of it. I continue to recommend them. read more

I had contractors come from other areas, and they looked at his pools and said they can't find quality work like that in their areas. Highly recommended. Come see my GREEN pool before you let them build yours!! I lived in a house with a pool for 15 years and never had a single problem with it. Then I moved to a house with a Holiday pool built in 2004. In the 3 years I've lived here we have had to replace the motor, replace the filters, have the filters deep cleaned, had the water tested and the pool cleaner tested. I had some guy from Holiday come out, twice, he was rude, would not answer my questions, would not share any information about the pool or its system, sprayed some chemical in my water, charged me and left. If you want to have fun in the sun, find another pool builder!!!!! read more
