My pool pump was making a loud electrical noise every time it was running, although it seemed to be working fine. I googled the problem and found videos that it could be a problem with the capacitor (ordered one online but it wasn't the capacitor), debris in the impeller (cleaned out impeller but it wasn't that either), or loose bearings (requires special tool and labor intensive to replace). Of course loose bearings was my problem (not any of the other easier to fix issues). I googled pool stores in Fresno or Clovis and came across Pool Mart and read all the good reviews. I called Chris and explained my problem and he knew right away it was the bearings. He was a great listener; since I said I had cleaned the impeller he figured I knew how to take the motor apart. He said he could fix it for $100 with a one day turn around time (or $125 labor if he has to come out). I brought it in the next day and sure enough he called me the following day saying it was fixed. Pool pump is now reinstalled and purring like a charm. While I was there to pick up my pump, Chris also answered my other pool questions around how to turn which drains on/off and fixed my leaky fountain cap for free. A few days later I called Chris for advice about my friend's neglected pool. He gave me some great advice about getting mosquito fish so I did. Now the Consolidated Mosquito Abatement District is happy and off our backs. Unfortunately for Chris, he will now be my go to person for all pool related issues. read more

I can't say enough great things about Chris and Deb! After 3 years of wasting my time with numerous pool supply stores nearby, I finally drove a little further and tried Pool Mart. I love the no nonsense attitude Chris has toward my pool problems. He never tries to up sale me or get me on some sort of step regimen, just good old fashion liquid chlorine and tabs. I've brought my pool-sweep in twice and he fixes it for such a reasonable price, trying to keep it going, so I don't have to buy a new one. Well, Pool Mart did it to me AGAIN !! They fixed the back-up valve I took into the store and didn't charge me a cent! I tried to buy some of the little round things that go on the end of my pool sweep hose and they were out of them SO.. Chris looked in his office and came out with 6 nice used ones, AND WOULD NOT ACCEPT PAYMENT! This is getting old. Half the time he fixes my sweep or whatever for free! I'm gonna have to send him some movie tickets anonymously to repay the service he gives me. I cant say enough about this company and Chris. They are the best. I'm not sure why all of these people like this place. I walked in lost and confused as to how to care for my above ground intex pool, asking for help and advice. The man, who I assume to be the owner was SO RUDE. He just kept going on and on about how I was wrong and I shouldn't have googled anything. At first I thought he was one of those harsh/sarcastic jokers, but he kept going. I was in there less than 5 minutes and left in tears. I had to walk out while he was still talking because he kept berating me and mocking my situation. I was seriously appalled. I told him that maybe next time he shouldn't be so rude. The owner Chris is real down to earth . I had a problem with my pool pump making a spine chilling screeching sound. He not only diagnosed it by listening to it over the phone, but also gave clear instructions to how to remove the pump so I could bring it to him to be fixed. Turn around time was 1 day. Honestly it depends on who helps you. The first young man to help me did a water test and sold me something for ph. He told me that it would be perfect in time for the following weekend, this was on a Sunday. I come back 3 days later and the ph level is sky high. The other guy that works there shows me the numbers and tells me where they need to be. He doesn't try to sell me the biggest bag of stuff and now he says it is more than likely take well over a week to get it to the appropriate level. I also had taken in my above ground pool pump and the first guy told me that it couldn't be fixed and tried to sell me a new one for $400. He wouldn't even try to fix it. Disappointed. read more

In 2011. 100x's better than leslie's pool got what we needed for 5 bucks and even through in some free clorine tablets!!!:-) leslies was gonna charge me like 50 bucks for all non sense stuff just kept tryna add more and more stuff. I wish I could give Pool Mart and Chris more stars. Chris is amazing in being able to fix almost anything having to do with your pool. Not only can he fix almost anything, he does it at a very reasonable price. My pool filter motor was making a very loud noise and Chris came out to my house and picked up the motor and rebuilt it like new for only $200. Which also include reinstalling the motor. Also a last summer I took my Hayward pool sweep to him because it was not working properly and he replaced the bearing in it for only $25. It has been working great since then. This guy saved me! My pool pump was making some really weird noises. I took a recording of it down to Chris who diagnosed the problem in seconds. He gave me an exploded diagram of the pool pp and told me how to take the pool pump off (cheaper than having him come and pull it) and then I brought it to him 10am the next morning and had it back with time to install before night fall. 100 bucks. Everywhere else wanted that just to tell me what was wrong. I asked him a different question unrelated to the pump and he grabbed a tool and handed it to me and said "return it when your done".
