We recently went to the shop to pick up some supplies and we just loved dealing with the staff. I've been a customer of this business since 2018, but unfortunately my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. I ordered a hot tub lid back in December and didn't hear anything for months. After finally reaching out in March, I was told it had already arrived and they were surprised no one had contacted me. When I tried to pick it up a few days later, I was told no one would be available that entire week due to the Home and Garden Show. I then made a special trip, three hours round trip, from Mariposa to Fresno in my diesel truck, especially with fuel prices being what they are, only to find two employees sitting there on their phones who told me they couldn't help me and that I would have to come back Monday between 10 and 4. This was never communicated to me ahead of time. Still frustrated, I made another trip to pick it up. When I tried to express my concerns, to John the gentleman helping me he would not engage with me at all. He turned and walked away while I was speaking to him. I even asked if he could hear me and he said yes, but continued walking away. It was incredibly unprofessional. This was one of the most dismissive and unprofessional customer service experiences I've ever had. After years of doing business here, I can honestly say I won't be returning. I went in to Energy House looking for a new face for my outdated, non-working fireplace before spending $1577.47 to have another highly rated (on Yelp) company repair it. I had already paid them $90 to diagnose the problem. Steve was able to find the new face for me out of town and have it delivered. I told him about the repair needed and he offered to send his repair man for a second opinion. Casey came out and did a great job fixing the fireplace and installing the new face. The repair and cleaning only cost $488. So with the repair, cleaning, and the new face purchased, shipped, and installed, Energy house was $450 less than just a repair and cleaning by the other company. read more

I had a gas fireplace insert installed several months ago and with the recent summer heat the fan refused to shut off. John was able to quickly diagnose the issue over the phone as my not having turned the pilot off for the summer! He was patient with my follow up calls on how to get the screen off and gave a good description of where to locate the pilot light knob, etc. Gentle coaxing with a pry bar got the screen off and the fan is off for the summer! Kevin at Energy House is one of the most exceptional and honest salespeople I've have ever worked with. Period. I was traveling through Fresno a month ago and walked into his showroom as I had been looking for an electric fireplace. He knew way more about fireplaces than any of the other reps I had talked to at the other 5-6 stores I had been to. Not only that, but he took the time to show me a detailed demo and he sent me some videos of the different models AFTER my visit. To top it all off, we realized that I was too far out of Fresno to buy from him so he offered to find me a local rep, and then he jumped on the call with me to make sure I ordered the right setup, just like what I saw in his store. When you're about to spend 6K or more, don't let anyone rush you. Do your homework! WARNING: If you like working with pushy used car salespeople, come here. They rush you, try to get you to put money down and move models by jacking up the price and then pretending to give you a '$1000.00 Discount.' The pricing is meaningless. Then they tell you (that whatever you're interested in is) "HARD to get, especially because of Covid and you'd be wise to put some money down. It's the VERY LAST one we have." That gets repeated.... BTW: UNLIKE other dealer showrooms, NO pricing is visible or listed on any of the products. It's all fabricated on the fly... Terrible listeners just pushing through the sales process or trying to confuse you. I actually had to change sales people because the gentleman I was working with had a problem answering direct questions and essentially ignored mine. The next one, a lady who was evasive with a few questions, did a better job but there was always that feeling that you are an afterthought and they're just pushing sales thinking about other things, you're not that important. Mostly there's a growing sense of uneasiness and distrust that builds.... Listen to that instinct! Having visited 3 dealer's showrooms and talking with various sales people, this place was by far the worst. And I absolutely believe EVERY negative review that I read here! They are great until after purchase. I have a log set that was installed By them last January. I have had multiple issues with the install. First had to have them back out to fix leak in new installation of gas line. Then the igniter did not work. Guy came by said Just wait it will come on. The pilot is fine but it takes more than a minute one time to to light logs , next time 30 seconds, then does not come On at all, then few tries finally comes on. There is obviously a problem but now can't get someone to just return a call. The install guy came by And said just wait it will come on. There is a problem and no one wants to Acknowledge it. Very frustrating so far. Waiting for a call back. Service department won't take your call because you are 15th In line and will only take calls in order received. What an amazing experience! My husband and I went to take a "quick" look at gas fireplaces. We were walking in the door at closing time. But, the owner and Kevin stayed late to accommodate our curiosity. They didn't rush us...the showed us much of their gas fireplaces. I chose one that I liked and they stayed to do the sale! He explained the different possibilities of putting my gas fireplace in the space, but I wanted to maintain the convex "aesthetic" of my old fireplace facade. Had excellent customer service when purchasing new spa. However, a recent work order experience has soured my view. I called service manager(John) about damage that had occurred to my spa during a scheduled service. Service manager stated the damaged couldn't have been done by the service technician and that he believed the technician over me given technician's years of service. This is the same technician who supposedly gained access to my backyard on two different occasions without first ringing door bell to alert himself that he was there or that the work had been completed. When I called to respectfully express my disappointment about the service, service manager(John) completely blew me off. I asked Service Manager(John) why technician didn't ring door bell to at least notify me he had arrived and or that the service was complete, he said it was customary for technician to access backyards without ringing door bells or calling customers first. Had technician let me Know he had arrived, i would made easy access to my spa which sat inside gazebo with netting around it to keep out animals and bugs. Because I didn't know technician had arrived, I found a hole in netting that had been installed just days prior, small dents and scratches on spa panel and a spa top cover that looked like it had been dragged on the ground. I made separate and multiple attempts to speak to sales manager(Kevin) by calling and leaving voicemail. I did not receive a call back. I have since made a warranty claim since according to Service manager(John) the damage to the panel couldn't have been possibly caused my technician. I am not angry just frustrated since all of this could have been avoid had technician simply let me know he had arrived like what most other technicians do when they arrive at your home. I could have opened up the nets to the gazebo and moved things around for him to make his life easier. I get it, things happen but if you're looking customer service that will be sympathetic to your concerns or even call call you back, I would look else where. Waited two weeks to make this review hoping to get call back from Sales Manager(Kevin) who would express some sort of understanding but nothing so far. Company does NOT stand behind their Fireplace Inserts. We had a Fireplace Insert installed and had a faulty remote unit, and Energy House just attempts to state to repair the unit to the remote, which never worked. When Energy House finally came out, they determined that the unit was faulty and needed to be replaced, we were happy as the Fireplace finally worked. That was until we received a bill for over $455.00, are they crazy??? When disputed, all they would say is, nope the bill is correct and is there anything else?? Some Businesses fail to understand that service is very important and not to just focus on the sale. In trying to find a fireplace insert, we stumbled into the worst place, with the worst service. We left unhappy and discouraged. Then we found Energy House and it was the polar opposite of the first place. At Energy House, the staff was helpful and polite and Kevin was the one of the best sales person we've ever dealt with. We came armed with pictures and he was able to help us with choosing and purchasing. He helped us procure a county rebate to reduce our final cost by $3000. He provided step by step guidelines to make the submission process easy and answer all our questions. After the install, I noticed that some of the silver vents shown thru (again, more pictures). He problem solved, and explained to us why it looked different than the floor model. He also provided us with exact match paint and clear instructions to fix the situation....for free. Kevin is a really genuine guy. Sometimes you're just buying a product, but in this case, you're buying the package. When I went in to inquire about gas fireplace inserts after qualifying for a rebate through the San Joaquin Valley APCD, the saleswoman was helpful and answered all of my questions and I purchased a great insert. After I paid for my unit that day, I was put on the back burner. Since then, It was like pulling teeth to get answers/responses about time lines/installation, etc. In frustration, after about a month after purchasing my insert, I texted the saleswoman and told her that I wanted to cancel my order. It was Sunday afternoon. To my surprise, the installer called bright and early the next morning and said he would be at my home by noon. Luckily I was home since I didn't get the courtesy of scheduling an appointment. After waiting six weeks post install, I texted my saleswoman and asked when I should be expecting my rebate check ($3000). She said the average time was 4-8 weeks. Another five weeks went by and still nothing. Due to the poor customer service and negative experience I went through, I decided to call the San Joaquin Valley APCD myself to inquire about the rebate. I wasn't surprised when I was told that there was no record on file. The representative said she would call the Energy House and my saleswoman told her that the paperwork must have been "lost". Doubtful. Even after all of this, I have yet to receive a text or call from the Energy House to apologize or remedy this. Instead, I had to complete the paperwork myself and send it directly to the San Joaquin Valley APCD. All this despite my saleswoman telling me that she is "old school" and hand delivers the paperwork and will handle everything. I guess it goes to show that after the sale is made, you're no longer priority and it's off to the next one. If you go through this program through the San Joaquin Valley APCD, my advice is to go with another company that is contracted. Maybe you'll have better luck than I did. read more

Got my jacuzzi!! It take quite long heads up ask ahead about the time frame. Happy so far, they also offer installation but remember to get you electrician ran prior. They also give you all your chemicals and supplies for cleaning so basically you set up for success once it's delivered we had a very tight space but they accommodated and if need be they can even get a crane retreat almost had to use they have people that they outsource for a delivery which makes your life easier and very friendly service on top of it anytime you need services or repairs you just called them and they send their people out. read more

These people will lie to you to make a sale. I recently purchased a pellet stove for 6k. The salesman said it would heat a 3500 square foot house, which is what I needed. Turns out the stove is only rated for 900 to 2000 square foot home. I called to return it and the store manager Kevin said there is a no return policy. I explained his sales person lied to me and misrepresented the stove capability. Kevin said sorry but that's hearsay. Note: I had a stove prior I purchased from Tractor Supply for $800 and it worked much better But was loud. Don't trust this place they lie and their customer service is terrible! We bought a pellet stove in mid November. Was only a couple of weeks to get it installed; that's the good news. Installers forgot the log set , promised to return later that day to install. Of course that didn't happen and a couple of phone calls later and a text to the salesperson was not answered. Went back to the store and was informed we would need to return once the logs came to them in the store. We purchased the most expensive model (because that was the only product available) yet we felt we did not get treated well after the sale. Once the check was written it was impossible to get any questions answered. Thankfully we were helped with the paperwork for the rebate given by Fresno County which was a nice touch. Kevin and Sandy were nice and knowledgeable about the pellet stove and rebate program. We know this is a busy time of the year for pellet stoves; when you spend over $7,000 for a unit you would expect a phone call to be returned in a timely fashion. Also we feel unappreciated after giving our business to Energy House and told to come back for the log set and figure out how to add the log set ourselves. I have owned Hot Springs Spas for years in the Bay Area. I have purchased not only a spa, but two whole house fans from theses folks. I needed repair on my Hot Springs Spa, it was done, at GREAT expense with a 2 week wait, and I had them come back today for a follow up problem. The "SERVICE" fellow was more concerned about telling me he did not create the problem rather than trying to fix my spa, that I got a little agitated. He WALKED OUT!
