Incredibly rude and aggressive for no reason. They should probably include a section of customer service in training as they are essentially serving the public. No one is saying they need to be personal butlers but the audacity and attitudes were egregiously horrendous. If you are looking to feel welcome and for a place for family fun this is definitely not the place. Highly recommend you look for other options!

The park has a lot to offer from playground play for children of all ages to swimming. There are several shaded areas for families or anyone to relax and enjoy the nature. You can easily miss this park in seconds but you cannot miss the beautiful building that looks like it was just plopped there. There is parking avaliable along with street parking. Maintanience comes on a regualr basis to clean up the park if there is trash and basically makes sure the park is kept as pristine as possible. The swimming hours varie and is posted on Madera County Parks and Recerational site. You can even reserve your time at the pool and even throw parties there as well. I have to say that this park is one of my favorite parks to sit back eat my lunch and enjoy nature all at the same time. I see alot of happy children running around and the play structure appears to be pretty safe for all ages. They even have infant swings too and a public restroom if needed. If in the area and need something todo with the kids or nature, this is the place to be!

You'll see Shell Mountain and the lake is at the base of it. You can try fishing, sit by the lake, or go swimming. Since you can get the stats on the pool from various sources, I will go into the layout and logistics for parents of swimmers. There is plenty of parking and all extremely close to the actual pool, so no long treks to get to where you need to go. There is concrete, open flat theatre style seating going around one pool in an L shape. I believe there are 4 steps, each large enough to actually put a lawn chair on with all your coolers, etc. Above the theatre seating is a huge grassed area that many people set up their canopies. There is ample space, as many families had plenty of room to spread out. Our meet was split between one pool, and it had a north and south end. (one closer to the clock, other closer to the concession stand.) if this is the case for your child, ask your coach where your child will be swimming and try to set up camp in that area. I was personally as far away from where my son was swimming, but it's really no big deal. It would be convenient to watch the race from your space, though if you or someone in your party does not want to be down on the deck. There were bathrooms that I did not go into, and some outside showers next to them. The concession stand was set up by the hosting swim club and was nice. Closer to the entrance, a swim store set up speedo backpacks, goggles, swim suits, etc. I found the prices a bit expensive, but they did have some nice things. I would definately get there early to get a good space on the grass or concrete steps. For any individuals with mobility issues, there are stairs with rails to get up to the grass area and the grassed area has a gradual incline to walk up to the area for anyone who cannot take stairs or are in wheel chairs, etc. Beautiful facility. I look forward to coming here again.

Sometimes these bigger meets overwhelm the facilities with the large amount of swimmers and families. Not this place. Only area for improvement would be more grass area for spectators. You need a FREE campfire permit if you're staying there overnight available from the Hume Lake Ranger Station, but we just did a day hike. There is lots of climbing involved, you have to cross Poop Out Pass at 3.7 miles and I was dying to get to the lake cuz it felt like I had been hiking Forever. It's the highest point on the trip. The lake is at 9,000 ft and I could tell we were up high because of the headache I got. Took some aspirins then felt a bit better. The lake is nice, lots of small fishes that I couldn't see but they kept jumping out of the water I guess eating bugs. Had lunch there then turned back down the trail.
