As mentioned below, Cleanly is great until you have a problem. Then they're terrible. I sent a brand new white dress to be dry cleaned before I took it on vacation (had only worn it one time). When I got my laundry back, I took the dress out of the bag to find an enormous brown liquid stain across the front that had not been there previously. The whole dress looked a shade dirtier as well. I emailed them immediately with pictures of the dress and a screenshot of the dress for sale online as I had recently purchased it. All in all, my dress cost $268 and cleanly only refunded me $125 plus some credit. I took a loss for their mistake and they took no responsibility for the enormous stain. They said their policy only allows them to reimburse 10x what it costs to dry clean the item- terrible policy if you plan to dry clean anything other than t shirts and undergarments. I'll never use this service again - they need to reimburse customers the appropriate amount for damaged items. They won't be in business for long if they keep treating loyal customers like this. read more

Cleanly has been amazing so far! I started using the service a few months ago after not being able to find a decently clean wash and fold place in my new neighborhood. I also love cleanly's options of hang dry and the temperature you want your clothes washed and dried on. Overall a great service! Wish it was just a little bit cheaper! read more

I was originally so excited to find this place. The app was so easy to use and everything came back perfect. Always! I put my family and friends on it. But something happened. Quality changed. Socks were missing. But hey even when I do my own laundry socks go missing. Then I started to receive someone else's pieces. Ok with apologies and I can understand. Shit happens. But now the worst thing happened. Light blue sheets, pillow cases, duvet and white socks came back pink. Devastating. Did they not think I would notice? Did they think that pink is in? So I sent an email and they offered to rewash. Thanks but no thanks. I rewashed myself. Bedding had to go to the trash. Socks are ok. But it's fall, I can hide them well. Anyway onward and upward. I guess they don't separate brights and colors. Will be using another service. It's been real cleanly . Two stars cause u have a great app. The rest bec you just don't care read more

Cleanly - Not really caring to attract feminine energy into my bedroom. When your blue sheets arrive pink - Laundry Services Near Me

See all

Good idea and nice customer service, poorly executed. After some back and forth with them realized they are simply a high tech middle layer - your laundry still goes to the same sweatshop wholesaler your local dry cleaner sends it out to. There are no pleasant trader joe employee happy hipsters gingerly doing your laundry at a cleanly owned facility. If anything goes wrong or there is inconsistency, they can still blame it on the vendor or say they are just getting started and bear with them. Nice to have interface, app, and text message, but simply paying a premium for same old laundry service. Laundry bag came back ripped after first try, gym clothes still smelt like sweat, socks and underwear not folded or inconsistently folded and some missing. Only had two try's so no horror stories like whole load went missing so I am sure some people had good experiences. Very similar to synergy maids who they were spun out of it. My first few tries with synergy maids were extremely inconsistent and frustrating but after raking management over the coals several times they finally got it right and are now quite pleasant and very convenient. If you've got the time and energy to go after them until right or you just really don't care that much about your laundry, give then a try. read more

Great service and clothes come back smelling lovely. Very easy to schedule in the app, too. Use my referral code to get $5 off your first two orders. Code: JAKEDO10 read more

I LOVE Cleanly. I had seen an ad for it and was a bit skeptical (as my previous building had a laundry room and I did it myself). The experience has been amazing. The app is very easy to use and super flexible based on your laundry needs. They provide you with a bag to use and will send you notifications when they're on their way. I haven't had any complaints at all about the the laundered clothes either; comes back smelling so fresh and clean. Highly recommend! read more

cleanly has been so useful for a busy student such as myself. all three times i have used the service so far there have been no hiccups. pick-up is always on time, and drop off is kind and quick. this service leaves my clothes clean, smelling good but not overwhelming, and with crisp folds. i will definitely rely on cleanly going forward! read more

Always an enjoyable experience with cleanly:) I have never experienced any serious problems with clothing. It always comes back smelling nice and fresh. Sometimes the pick up/ drop off is late due to traffic, but only by a few minutes in my experience. read more

Horrible service, horrible customer service, they will ruin your cloths or lose them. Best advice is to stay away. Also, I'm pretty sure that all the positive reviews here are simply FAKE- look at all the negative ones and the positives in between- they are clearly trying to DISTRACT you read more

I have used other cleaning services, but I must say Cleanly is the best. First their app is seamless. It works fast and is very clear. Secondly their pick up and delivery are always on time and get it right. That is a big thing since that is where I often had problems with other services. I also subscribed to their service so that makes delivery free and gives me lots of other options. Last but not least, my laundry always comes back just as requested. So the whole thing is pretty worry free read more

Though it is nice to have someone else do you laundry, the business just isn't capable of executing well. First, and most importantly, they lost my husbands dry cleaning. It was expensive work clothes. I just don't really know how they lose laundry? BUT, they did provide a reasonable reimbursement offer that I was satisfied with. Secondly, they never have dates/times available that are reasonable and the delivery dates get changed on you last minute or the pickup/delivery is late. Just solidly annoyed by this company as a whole. I wouldn't say I would never use them again but I won't send them anything important or that I wouldn't be willing to part with. read more

I've been using Cleanly for 2 years or so now - Always reccomend my friends and anyone looking to make their life easier. You pay a slightly higher price but its defintiely worth it. Also shout out to their customer service team always responding quickly read more

I started using cleaning the very first week I moved to New York. I haven't quite been able to break the habit. Ordering and scheduling are quick and easy. Their staff both on the customer service side and the pickup/delivery side, are communicative and friendly. I have saved a ton of time since using it and can safely say have not had a single bad experience. My clothes always come back clean and neatly folded. If there is ever an issue, Cleanly customer service has been front and center to meet my requests. I am looking forward to using Cleanly for a long time. read more

I've had a really good experience with Cleanly so far. Things come and go on time and I love that they are using tide and not using fabric softener. The app makes it easy to place a pick up order and coordinate drop offs. I really appreciate the hang dry options for clothes that are more delicate. Glad this service is available in my neighborhood. read more

I've used Cleanly's services a handful of times, and don't have anything really negative to say at all. It's the first laundry service I've ever used though.. so I don't have a comparison. The pricing I wish was a little cheaper for items that need to hang dry (I wear a lot of work blouses and don't want to pay $1 extra for each item that needs to hang dry, so I use Cleanly for wash & fold only). They've never lost any of my items, that I'm aware of... some towels seem to have bleach spots on them, but I can't be sure if its from my face creams or from their washing. read more

Cleanly has been a lifesaver. I was complaining to a friend that my work schedule never fits with laundromat hours and she recommended Cleanly. I was a little hesitant as I can be a bit particular about my clothes (hang dry, gentle cycle, etc.), but I decided to test the Reserve free trial. I love the app and the service. It's so convenient to schedule (and even reschedule) pickup and delivery, and the valets are always on time. I like the option of hang dry, and that I can send in my delicates in a separate lingerie bag. All of my clothes have come back clean. I had a couple items come back with some leftover suds dried on them, but Customer Service got back to me right away with a solution/credit. read more

I would stay away from this service. Notice that the number for customer service online is (999)999 9999, which directs you to 911. The promised delivery of one day was actually 5 days later. . When I emailed to ask where my laundry was, the reply was rude! read more

Great service! Use it whenever my laundry backs up - they are always courteous and polite when they pick up and drop off. I cannot recommend cleanly enough - they get my business every time! read more

Cleanly's service is incredibly convenient. Scheduling a pickup when useful for you is great (even if you need to be home 30 minutes before your set time to ensure you get your laundry). However, they can't do laundry. I probably used this service 10 times because it was very convenient, but of those 10, at least 5 they made a serious mistake, including: losing an expensive garment (did provide a partial refund), laundered white shirts with something dark - dying them dark and forcing me to throw them out, charging me for putting comforters / other expensive items into laundry when I had not. I usual received a $5 off coupon or something similar, but at a certain point, I just need my laundry done correctly and without a headache. read more

Perfect service for a busy family, nice app which is very easy to use with convenient pick up and delivery times. With the reserve membership its equal costs to the local laundromat with so much added service read more

I've used Cleanly 4 times now and quickly upgraded to the premium service. The pickup has always been prompt. Last time I selected a window of 8am-9am and at 8:01am my buzzer rang. Delivery has likewise been quick and easy, and they'll bring it up to my 4th floor walkup. I've never had an issue with missing clothing or anything lost, and the app is incredibly easy to use. read more

Horrible service! They collected my laundry and then unilaterally pushed back the delivery of my clean laundry by THREE more days! What's worse is that they just told me a few hours before the previously scheduled delivery and they offered me a $5 refund!!! $5 for three days without my stuff, REALLY? read more

I have used Cleanly exclusively for my laundry needs since relocating to manhattan. The app makes it very easy to schedule pick ups and deliveries, the customer service is responsive, they sort colors/whites for you, and they do 24 hour turn around with no extra fee! read more

Reliable service. Have used it for a year. No major delays. Haven't lost anything. App is very easy to use. Like all the options - laundered shirts, dry clean, hang dry, etc. Only complaint is sometimes the clothes could come back a little cleaner and a tiny bit shrunken - but they smell great!!! read more

I discovered Cleanly when I moved into a building in NYC without laundry in the building and it was a godsent. I've used it religiously for 2 years and had no issues. Consistent, easy, and I've found myself still using it even though I now live in the building with laundry. It's just too convenient and worth the money. Highly recommend read more

This was a great first experience! The valets arrived on time and followed collection instructions carefully. My clothes returned clean and in expected condition. They even brought NuNu chocolates during the pickup and provided both a laundry and dry cleaning collection bag. I'll definitely continue to use Cleanly. read more

This is my favorite way to get my laundry done in NYC! Extremely easy for pickup and delivery. The valets are always friendly. I love that I can send out my laundry when I get home from work and get it delivered before I leave for work. Works great with my schedule. Like others have said, the hang dry items normally come back very wet for me. I immediately take them out of the plastic (I had one load sour this way) and hang them individually. I wish they were a little more dry, but nothing stopping me from giving them a great review! Thanks Cleanly for your service!! read more

Hands down the best on demand laundry service out there. They always arrive on time and with a smile! I've tried all the competitors and none of them compare not only cost wise, but also customer service and timeliness. read more

I've used cleanly a few times & 50% of the time, my clothes have come back wrinkled after dry cleaning. I have reached out to support 6 separate times & they refuse to respond. I'm not sure they know how to run a customer focused business. This has been really frustrating, but there are too many other services like this for me to fret. Just beware, they don't know how to rectify customer complaints and will ignore you. read more

This is my first time using Cleanly and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was prompt and my clothes were clean. I will definitely use them again and I highly recommend their service. read more

Cleanly is super convenient. Pick up and delivery were timely, and the app is easy to use. It's pricier than dropping off to your local wash-and-fold, but that's the cost of not showing up to pick up your laundry to discover the local shop has closed 10 minutes earlier than the already ridiculously early hour they officially close. read more

SO glad I found this service. It is faster, more reliable and easier to plan for than my regular laundry service down the block. Professional and always on time and the live tracker feature is awesome. I LOVE this service and the app is super easy to use! read more

We decided to try Cleanly after some negative experiences with Hamperville. Bad choice. On the plus side, their website and use of automated communications is far more effective. But they messed up our laundry service in almost every way possible. We specifically requested scent free detergent and our laundry came back reeking of detergent. They also sent us someone else's underwear. So we arranged for them to pick-up (with the stranger's stuff marked) and redo. The pickup was delayed more than a day. Then the return delivery was delayed twice. When we finally opened our laundry, the scent was gone, but the foreign underwear was still there. The whole process took a full week, and was not worth it. We're back to doing laundry ourselves. read more

The first time I used this app everything went smoothly. I was super happy with how everything came back until I could smell the detergent and fabric softener. I requested the non scented and no softener, reached out, customer service offered to have it re washed for free. I declined. I said I'd never use it again but my crazy busy schedule made me give it another try. Pick up yesterday was fine. However I'm now sitting here wondering where my clothes are since it was supposedly delivered 45 minutes ago and is nowhere to be found in my building. They're still confirming that the valet has my bag of laundry and I have to wait for potentially another hour and half to see if I'll receive the correct clothes I need to wear to a clinical shift tomorrow. Two stars because customer service is responsive, but really not that helpful. They offered me 20% off my next order, but I definitely won't be using it again. read more

Great service - super convenient. They also have a feature in the app tHat you take a picture from stains or anything in your clothes that need special attention. Super cool. read more

Pretty good service. Very reliable I would definitely use it again. Great for winter time when you don't want to leave the apt and drop off the laundry. read more

There are times when sending out laundry is the only thing to be done. In my case, I needed two queen sized comforters washed. I specified that unscented detergent be used and it was for one comforter, but not the other. I knocked one star off for that - holy hell, Tide is really, really strongly scented! Other than that, Cleanly's pickup and delivery service was great (24 hour turnaround on a weekend), and their app was easy to use. Now, if only they would actually pay attention to the customer's laundry customizations! I would definitely use this service again for anything I couldn't launder myself. read more

Cleanly is definitely the best on-demand laundry that I've tried. Compared to FlyCleaners (which I have had awful experiences), Cleanly is professional, generally on-time, and consistent in their service. I think with these services, quality of service in both with the physical laundry portion as well as the delivery/pick-up logistics are the most important, and I think Cleanly does a fine job with that. read more
