Very disappointed in the service of this landscaping company. I delayed posting this review to get a response from the owner, but the response I received from him after voicing my concerns seemed like he didn't care. I hired Clean Cut landscaping after seeing several people recommended them on the Murrieta FB page. I was quoted $60 for biweekly service for just our front lawn and to maintain our rose bushes and baby palm trees. The first time they came, the service was good and Mike communicated well with me. The 2nd time, I had asked them If they could blow under our rose bushes to get rid of some of the old leaves since it hadn't been done the first time and they said no problem. The day after they came, by the morning every single rose on our shrub rose bushes, there are 5 total, fell off and the bud died. They didn't come off over a period of days, they all fell off over night. After asking Mike about it, he said yeah it's because it's Winter time. I questioned this since other houses still had their roses and it wasn't getting THAT cold, but being new to the area, and being he does landscaping, I assumed he knew what he was talking about. After several more weeks, our grass started turning yellow and I asked his son about it and he called His dad and was told to adjust the sprinklers because they said the 8 minute time we had 4 days a week was too much so they reduced it to 4 minutes. Grass started getting worse. I asked Mike about it, he said it's fine. (I don't even think he knew because only his son was coming) . I asked the previous owner if this was something that happened to them and she said no, the actual roses thin out so it's not as full but with the type of rose they were, they don't all fall off during winter and especially don't die over night and she also said she never had a problem with her grass getting as yellow like ours was. My husband recommended we just keep watching it before we changed gardeners. With that being said, I waited a week to see how the next service was. When they came I pulled up my ring doorbell surveillance I have recorded and noticed he mowed incredibly fast, no edging, no light weed pulling and then took his blower and blew around our porch and a little in the drive way and then left. All he was doing with the blower was blowing dust over everything. Mike also told me they fed the grass (which was not done). Very dishonest. I decided to cancel their service. After cancelling, I was home and I noticed his son then showed up again not knowing I had cancelled and was here 6 min. Arrived at 11:57 and left at 12:03. There was lots of areas of light weed pulling that could have been done because of the recent rain. So we were basically paying $60 for 15 minutes a month and he wasn't doing anything they said they would do. I reached out to Mike and gave him all this information and said I could provide him with the video and all he wrote back was, " no, it's ok, I forgot to tell him." No other comments about what I said which made me think he's already aware that's been happening. After canceling their service, I hired another gardener who also confirmed with our type of grass, it shouldn't have been that yellow and it just needed fertilizer. He put fertilizer down, also trimmed the palms for us (which he said has not been done for quite some time) and trimmed the roses. It rained for a couple days after that and after a short time our grass and roses already look better. Oh he also informed us that we had a broken sprinkler line which was of course was missed by them. I'm disappointed for sure and wish it could have been better and I think if they actually paid attention to detail and treated us like a valued customer, it would have been better. Apparently from the response I got, they didn't value my business at all. It's unfortunate because I like to give my business to a family business. I'm just glad I cancelled when I did before all of our grass died (which was a huge factor for why we bought the house in the first place). My recommendation is just to pay more attention to your work and don't be so quick to get to the next house and address your clients concerns when they have them. read more
