We used Ramon and his company CR Pacific Landscaping for a significant backyard makeover. Our yard was quite nice, but as we are nearing retirement there were a few changes we wanted to make it our dream yard. First, we considered a swimming pool but the cost, maintenance and several other factors changed our direction to a swim spa. We chose the AquaPlay 13FPP. Because the spa stands over 5 feet tall, we knew we wanted it set into the earth. Next: I've had Koi for many years, but all ponds so far were DIY - it was time to go all in. Plants: As you can see from the "before" photo - plants are important to us. Finally: Ease of maintenance. We wanted an incredible yard that we could enjoy without spending a bunch of time maintaining it. After obtaining several bids and meeting several contractors, we signed an agreement with Ramon. Three of the primary reasons we went with CR Pacific: 1) He was the only contractor we spoke with that had actual experience building "The Vault" - (the basement the swim spa sat in). 2) He had experience building water features and understood the basics, but building a pond of this size and mechanical requirements was new to him. 3) He has a great personality and appeared to be collaborative. The Good: Ramon proved to be quite collaborative. He had ideas, I had ideas and we worked together to land on the best ideas. We had problems arise (see "The Ugly"), but Ramon only delivered solutions or possible solutions. He owned the entirety of the project (even through at least 8 change orders). His common response to a change order: "We can do that" - and they did. From a client/contractor perspective, Ramon has great communication skills. He kept me informed every step of the way. Quality: The photos speak for themselves. Ramon was insistent on doing things right. Ramon had put around a dozen drains in the backyard properly piped to the street. I gave him a hard time as before he took the job, we only had two drains. We did experience some minor flooding when we would have the torrential rains. About a week after the project wrapped, we had several days of torrential rains - not even a puddle in the yard. The Bad: On site supervision could be better. Ramon had about 6 employees, most only spoke Spanish. Because I work from home I kept an eye on the progress. When I would see something that needed correction I had to use Google Translate to communicate with the workers. I often had to text Ramon inquiring if he was going to stop by. This was a significant, complex job. That is really my only "Bad". Clearly "The Good" far exceeds "The Bad". The Ugly: Water, water everywhere... While the vault was being dug, we started noticing water in the bottom of the hole at around 38". We spent a little over a week pumping it out. We contacted the water company who told us there did not appear to be a main break in the neighborhood. They suggested it could be groundwater. When the started digging the pond, groundwater continued to be a problem. Ramon dug and installed a permanent groundwater well - groundwater continues to be pumped out daily. Just another example of Ramon's perseverance. I highly recommend Ramon & CR Pacific for any landscape job. read more

We had an amazing experience with Ramon and the CR Pacific crew for our back yard renovation. If we could give him a 10 star rating we would. From the first meeting, we were impressed with his professionalism. He not only arrived on time, but also recommended ways to keep costs down. For example, we thought we wanted a patio cover, which would have added a large amount to the bid, but he advised us not to spend the money because our house blocks the sun after about 1 pm. It's that attention to detail that continued to build trust over an evolving project with a few changes along the way. We knew that he was working to keep the prices fair and that made the process so much more comfortable. Ramon's design was exactly what we were looking for. We knew we wanted a putting green, a pad for a spa (coming late December), and parking for the motorhome - but we had no idea how to lay it out. He made the best use of our space and we were pleasantly surprised to find that we had more space than we thought once the trees were removed and the demo was done. CR Pacific took care of the demo and removal of the trees, put rebar in the concrete to handle the heavy motorhome and hot tub, and included so many little extras that we had never thought of. There were no unexpected costs. The only time a price changed was when we asked for something extra. There were a few items where we needed an outside contractor to complete. We wanted a 30 amp plug for our motorhome, a 60 amp plug for the hot tub and a plug for the lights. The electrician Ramon recommended did a great job and his pricing was fair. The iron gate with privacy screen required another contractor and his price was great as well. Finally, we needed one of our air conditioning units moved to maximize patio space. I called to get bids and none of mine came close to the bid he was able to get for us. The contractors he recommends are high quality and fair priced. Super impressed! This complete project took just under 7 weeks. It would have been shorter if we hadn't had a few days of rain. We are still amazed by the transformation, quality, price and speed of the completion. We will be using CR Pacific for our future projects and recommending them to our friends and family. read more

While the attractive appearance is obvious, what can't be seen are the methods and practices that yield such a positive outcome. The final cleanup was so thorough that the property looked even neater than when the project began. We were amazed that so much was done in so short a period of time. Multiple phases of our project were done wrong and had to be corrected. Turf laid wrong direction and solution was to "power brush" it more (except they never showed up to do that). Workers start at 9am, if they actually show up. Small job took them roughly six weeks to finish (and we supplied the material). All attention to detail went out the window when it was clear the simple things (e.g. making sure the walkway path was in straight line) couldn't get done correctly. Plenty of other issues and poor communication during our project. Only saw the owner when he needed a check. He's personable, that's about all I can say. Don't be fooled. I am not a person who writes reviews, but it is important the next potential customer understands what they may be getting into when choosing this company. He has a lot of high rated reviews, but be sure to do your homework regardless. If you have a "$100,000" job maybe you'll get the service you deserve. read more

My wife and I wanted to completely redo our front yard. This included ripping out existing plants and grass to replace with rocks and new plants, pouring concrete steps, a side patio, lighting and expanding our driveway. When looking to add to the existing backyard, I had 4 different contractors come to the house to give me a quote. Out of all 4, Ramon from CR Pacific was by far the most qualified and professional. He was able to give me a ballpark idea on the spot for the job which I liked. The job was a cluster of all new area drains in the backyard, removing old grass replaced with artificial turf, different planters removed and filled with concrete, removal of a sound wall, etc. His crew always arrived on time and worked all day. He also always has the same crew every day so they worked well together. I really liked the way he took the time to explain the job, gave suggestions where we needed them, and was easy to get ahold of whenever I had a question or slight change of plans on a detail or two. He tried to save me money when he could with suggestions that were much better than some of the things I had planned, and the job came out amazing. I've had artificial turf installed at my last home, and this looks 10 times better, and I can't even see any seems even though I know where they are since I was home during much of the job. His pricing on turf and concrete was much lower than the other companies I had give me quotes and we are so happy with the results. He even took the time to program my sprinkler system and rewire some of the valves that were disconnected at no charge. He added a ton of drains under the turf that all slope perfectly toward the hidden drains and looks super clean. All in all, I am so glad we went with Ramon, and it got to the point where I trust him as I would any good friend with our home. I would recommend CR Pacific to my family and friends and will continue to send him business. We are going to work on the front yard next and we will be calling him for sure to take care of the job. I've intentionally waited a few months to write this review. Due to all the rain, I wanted to know how our backyard would hold up. CR Pacific did an absolutely phenomenal job with the drain system. I don't recall how many drains were added (believe around 8 or so), but they did the job incredibly. During the torrential downpour, the water was draining out as fast as it was coming in. Ramon was incredible to work with. He's definitely a pro who takes what you have on paper, and turns it into something special. He's always responsive, and was a pleasure to work with. Huge thanks to Johnny and the crew. These guys were the fastest working guys we've ever hired. It was shocking how quick things moved along. Tree removal, grading, drains, concrete, turf, etc... These guys know what they're doing and were meticulous with everything they created. I can't recommend CR Pacific enough. I hired Ramon and his team to replace the patio which they completed early January 2019. When I was on vacation in May and returned in September, we found that one beam had completely cracked about half a centimeter wide throughout the entire length of the beam. I told his friend to take a picture and how it to him and he said he would come call the next friday, it's been several months now and he still hasn't contacted me, come to fix this, and has been seemingly avoiding all my calls and emails. He previously said that this could be fixed with wood filler and that this was a natural phenomenon but our previous patio had been up for several decades and never showed any signs of cracking. Doing landscape work during the summer months presents a few challenges. It is a busy time of the year and most companies are booked months in advance. I tried to contact 7 of the most popular landscape companies in the Temecula area. Most of them took up to a week to respond, and when they did I was surprised to find out they didn't even have time to come by just to give me a quote! C&R Pacific came by the following day. Ramon was very quick to pick up on our landscaping ideas and even expanded the potential look with some imaginative ideas of his own. I had a rough idea for how much this might cost and 3 days later he sent me a quote and the price was $2,000 less than I thought.
