New to Murrieta and excited to not have HOA, we were unaware of the City's Municipal Codes for landscape boundaries and what homeowners are responsible for. Until we met one of the officers of the City's Code Enforcement Department (via notice/warning letters) for a quick tutorial of covering the landscape areas between the public right of way sidewalks, curbs, and gutters alongside our property line. Eager to fix what we have been unaware of for months, we reached out to several landscape companies and obtained several quotes... Wow!!! What it costs to look at an appealing yard and surrounding areas!! For a moment we appreciated HOA, just for a quick second... Considering our 3 quotes, Rock, Turf, and Landscape worked with changing up materials that our budget would appreciate. They scheduled us to meet our Code Enforcement deadline (yes, we got a fix-it ticket from the City!) and landscape crew were quick to prep, complete and clean up. We didn't want to deal with maintenance or monthly landscape and water bills, so we opted for a rock landscape as it was much cheaper than fake turf. With a few minor changes, Gus was knowledgable with material and explained why, what and how we would expect to maintain. While there were more permanent solutions, it will cost more when cosmetic designs on permanent landscape come to play. Working with our budget and offering options for our needs, we were pleased to opt for rock landscape as a best fit for us based on what we expected for the long-term. The crew were friendly, professional, and courteous, especially toward heavy foot-traffic as they worked on the sidewalk areas. They had to cease work twice to accommodate heavy foot traffic on a school day, however, they were done long before our deadline! Final inspection and a walkthrough with business owner before we closed out our project and paid off what we hope will be lasting investment (curb appeal and code enforcement friendly!). It was a pleasure working with Rock, Turf, and Landscape and would definitely seek their services again when in need!! I highly recommend them for your landscape needs! read more

Rock Turf and Landscape did my entire landscape for a big project of mine in Newport Beach on a luxury home and exceeded all of my expectations. Gus (the owner) and his crew are extremely hard-working and honest people. They were there when they said they would be and didn't have a single hiccup during the whole job. Gus carefully sourced hundreds of different plants and trees. He was there every day working alongside his crew and making sure things had proper placement and aesthetic curation. He also charged a fair price and never tried to include hidden/extra fees we didn't agree on. I would highly recommend him. read more

Gus and his crew did a great job on installing turf in my backyard! Gus was really professional and friendly. Not only was he the most affordable quote I got but he was available within the week and did an excellent job. There was extra work to be done but they did it without a problem. The existing base dirt had to be dug down about six inches to make room for the base and to level it and they did me a huge favor moving it to another area of the yard. The turf came out really great, they made it to the level I requested and with a slight slope for drainage. Gus even made sure the turf was laid down the correct way so that it looked best when viewed from my patio or home and it did make a big difference. He had all the tools and skills to do the job right the first time, looks amazing. His crew cleaned up really well too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gus to anyone for turf install and I will use him in the future for various landscape projects of mine. read more

Gus and his team were incredible! We bought our house in June of 2022 and the landscaping was the worst part of the house. Gus and his crew literally transformed our entire front yard and the look & feel of our house. I absolutely LOVE pulling up to our home now. They were quick, responsive, worked within our budget and more than exceeded our expectations! I will definitely be using them again when we tackle the back yard next. read more

One star is generous. I have made two phone calls and sent a video for landscaping of my back yard. Each time Cassie Briones said she would, "check her schedule" and then never got back to me. The first contact was Wednesday January 24 and the second on March 4, 2024. I wish she would have just said they were too busy and unable to schedule my job. This is very poor communication and no way to run a business let alone create good will. read more

Gus and his team are a dedicated group of individuals who from the beginning of our project gave us several outcomes and pricing. When he and his crew showed up it was nonstop hustle from start to finish, no fuss just honest hard work. I wholeheartedly recommend his work , not only because of his knowledge, but for his honesty and trustworthiness. You will not be disappointed! read more

We have been looking for a reliable landscaper for months. Everyone we have hired has either flaked, started work and didn't finish it or never called us back. From the first interaction Gus impressed us by responding right away and quoting us on a long list of plants we were interested in. He went out of his way to make sure the trees we were getting were the best quality in our budget. Gus also is very knowledgeable about plants and helped us pick the best ones considering our small kids and dogs. He met our rushed deadline and did everything he said he would do. His prices are very reasonable and he gets the job done right and we couldn't believe how clean the crew left our yard when they were done working. So many times we have been left with a mess after having work done to our yards and this was the opposite with Gus and his crew. I highly recommend them. read more

Was looking forward to working with this company on a good size project but when I called because a smaller issue, irrigation leak in pipe, two places, was told I would receive a call back, which never came. I left another message asking for guidance as to a timeframe when they could attend to the problem, again, no response. So relieved I didn't tie up 5 figures on a job where their response to a problem was poor. read more

I'm trying to figure out how to articulate this review in a way that helps the reader understand what happened. If I could summarize it, it would be - Gus took the landscaping of my home and transformed it into the landscape of my dreams! I don't even recognize my yard! We have already gotten so many compliments! Now, let me break things down: I liked Gus from the beginning. I knew I wanted to change the landscape of my front/back yard and had some particular ideas and requests, but didn't quite know how they would look. Gus was very knowledgeable and took his time over the phone to discuss, thoroughly, some things with me. I didn't feel rushed and actually felt like he was educating me on certain aspects of my landscaping. Then we set up a time for him to come out and offer a quote. When he came out he listened to my thoughts about the project and my desires for the overall look and took his time doing so. He never rushed the process, we talked about my ideas thoroughly, and he answered all of my questions. I received his quote a couple days later and to my surprise Gus had not only suggested a selection of plants that I absolutely loved, but also gave me a pretty awesome quote. Within a couple weeks he and his team got to work and finished up within a few days. It is OBVIOUS he and his team know what they are doing and they take pride in their work. No corners were cut. They took their time, making sure every detail was situated. My yard has never looked better...not at this house or any other house I've owned, for that matter. I'm still like - what the heck happened! LOL! Gus is a very good business man, you can definitely trust him with your landscaping needs, he'll for sure exceed your expectations. He's a perfectionist so no detail goes unnoticed. If you are a consumer looking for a company that will do good work, give you fair pricing, and stand by their product, hands down, you need to contact Rock Turf and Landscaping. For sure will be recommending him to others! read more

Gus is very knowledgeable & reliable. His pricing was reasonable & very competitive, for our complete landscape job. He & his crew worked long hours in very hot weather, and never complained. When the company that made our pavers didn't have a smaller version for our front porch, Gus hand cut every one in half, just to get it right. Impressive! The follow up service has been excellent also. You can read reviews all day long, but the best recommendation is, "Would you hire this person/Company again?", and the answer is Yes! read more

Gus really helped me out. I needed some urgent help with trimming and landscaping. I was in office and my bin was in the garage. He came over at 4pm (so that he can work before the sunset) and did an amazing job with everything. I didn't have to tell him anything at all. Since the trash bin was not available, he used his own truck for it. Have already scheduled with him to work regularly. read more

For my family, deciding to take on redesigning our front flower beds was slightly intimidating. We contacted Gus about working with us and he was awesome from beginning to end. We told him we had a limited budget but wanted to freshen everything up by starting over. He spent time listening to what we liked and then educated me on what works and what doesn't. We wanted low maintenance and clean modern lines. He listened to us and truly cares about the end result: a happy customer with plants that will thrive.
