James came by to give a quote, was clear that his rate was based on truckload, not by hour. This was crucial for us as we had a large project. Maybe for more routine painting, I'd re-hire A1 Paintings. However, I hired Larry to paint my…read morekitchen cabinets and there was a lack of detail and follow through leading me to be more cautious about a full recommendation. If I could give 3.5 stars for the job itself, I would. First, the good - he was very responsive during the quote process, sent a good scope of work and contract via email, and used quality paint. He and his helper showed up on time, and were kind, courteous and professional. I really enjoyed chatting with both of them. The price quoted was fair and reasonable. In writing, Larry said that he'd be spraying the kitchen cabinet doors, which I preferred to brushing; however, there was no sprayer used for my kitchen. I let it go because the doors were not showing brush strokes but wanted to note because the job was not done as described. My second concern relates to attention to detail during the painting process. Some touch ups are to be expected (though, see below), but there was a level of sloppiness that I didn't expect from a pro. Primarily, they used spray primer along the base of the cabinets, which has left white spots along the moulding and in some spots, on the hardwood floors. And not taping has left some sloppy lines and paint on things like appliances and the backsplash. But all of this could have been addressed if Larry had come back for the touch up that was promised. I needed about a month between the cabinet painting and the touch up to take care of some personal matters, and Larry was responsive and confirmed the new date. Texts to re-confirm a few days before and on the day of went unanswered, as did a call. After a number of texts, Larry finally responded on July 28, the day after our scheduled appointment, and said he was having car trouble and couldn't get out to my home. I let him know it was fine, and to just keep me posted. I have not heard from him since then (over a month) despite sending additional messages.

My move: Storage pod (small studio worth of stuff minus a bed) to studio…read more Location: ABF U-Pack service center in MD to DC condo Packing: none; already packed Distance: 30 miles Elevator access: yes Get It Done cost: Under $500 Other MD/DC companies quoted: $700-2000; Booked 2-3 weeks out OR said they don't service that area (what?!! unheard of in Los Angeles for a mere 30 miles!) I needed local moving help and was having the hardest time finding companies that weren't charging high rates and were available in a short timeframe between Maryland and DC. I found Get It Done through Craigslist and looked them up on Yelp, requested a quote, and within a couple of hours had gotten a response and very reasonable price range. Charles was very responsive and had flexible times 2-3 days out for a local move. He communicated when his truck had an issue causing him to be about an hour late, but it was all fine in my situation since I was moving from a storage unit to a condo where I didn't have to be moved out by a certain time/day. He and his teammate moved my things over to the 26' truck with care and drove it about 30 miles into DC. They carefully parked in the loading dock, loaded the elevator and unloaded things where I wanted them. They even helped fix the legs on my sofa that came loose during cross country transit in a pod. Total time was about 3 hours with transit. Charles even gave me a veterans discount on top of his very reasonable price. Much appreciated! I would definitely recommend his services for moves in the DMV area.

The…read moreplumber had to remove the tiles surrounding the old fixtures in order to put in the new pipe fittings. However, he couldn't put in the new faucet parts until new tiles were put in, which he didn't have the expertise to do. I had to find a good tile person ASAP. Thankfully, my search led me to Junior. He responded quickly and was at my house just a few days after I reached out to him. His skills and meticulous attention to detail are outstanding. On the day of the appointment, he arrived just after 9:00 a.m. and worked on the new tiles until late afternoon--literally all day. At one point he had to go out and buy more tiles, which he didn't charge me for. He returned early the next morning to put in caulking around the new tiles, which took him an additional four hours. I'm so grateful for Junior's thoroughness. As the attached photo shows, the new tiles look fabulous--absolute perfection! If you need anything done inside or outside your house, Junior Gonzalez is the one to call. Highly recommended!

You know what they say!!!! Out with the old and in with the new!!!!…read more As the new year and decade approaches, we're doing some home updates and refreshing to spring forward, woop woop! That has entailed a need to get rid of everything from an old big screen tv, mattresses, a sofa that weighed a metric ton, to miscellaneous things like scrap metal, rotted wood, old clothes, and enough dead leaves for a lifetime. I was shocked at the amount of actual "junk" we allowed ourselves to build up without brainstorming letting the professionals remove it, prior to now. I'm so glad we did though, because Junk Unlimited did the heavy lifting that would've taken us days, in a matter of a couple hours. Best of all, is that when I tried to be nosey (hehe) and find out where they dispose of people's junk, I was advised clothes and things of that nature are typically donated and that metals, old appliances, and things of that nature get recycled. Look at me being green with my dear old junk, LOL. When I reached out to Junk Unlimited, I was so pleased with their prompt response time, reasonable pricing, flexible hours including early mornings / weekends / evenings, and my overall customer experience. Then on the day of doing our junk removal, the Junk Unlimited team was so friendly and professional. They stayed on task with what we needed them to do and all the guys were very handsome *cough cough I meant polite, in case you're reading this, Husband LOL. They were literally in and out in no time and ready to head to their next gig, but I wanted to extend them some lunch I'd ordered for a job well done, before they left. The owner mentioned that they practice a standard of being early for their jobs, as what they consider to be on time so they couldn't sit to eat but after I insisted, they at least accepted to-go boxes I forced them out the door with. I can't say enough great things about Ralph and his team and would not hesitate to use Junk Unlimited's services again in the future.

Below that was poorly laid sand and cement, which left us with the pile of debris you see. It was too big of a job for us to do ourselves so I went out to Yelp for a quote. Jeremias was friendly and offered competitive prices for the job. They showed up at a reasonably early hour (8am) and worked diligently to clear away the debris.
