Believe the bad reviews of this dealership, the old bait and switch, advertised the MSRP and when you get there they add 5k for "market price up" to stay competitive, whattt?? You would think they would price lower to get people to purchase their cars. I went in to look at a base model Kia, MSRP: 21,219. After test driving and running my credit and after i told them the monthly payment I am willing to pay, nothing more, they still wasted my time by talking to their "manager" and somehow the car went from 21k to 30k and the monthly payment is $606. I have a very high credit score, doesn't mean crap to these salesmen. Oh and if you have continued to read my rant, just and FYI, that "Connected and Protection" $995 fee, you can have that removed, it clearly states on their website in small letters that this isn't a charge you have to accept. STAY AWAY from this dealership, they prey on people with mediocre credit scores and are desperately wanting to buy a new car, if they tried that bait and switch tactic on me I can only imagine what they try on desperate potential buyers. They have a 3 day money back for a reason. I went in looked at only 1 car, had to go do something, came back about 2 hrs later and proceeded to buy the car. Ended up spending 5 hrs the 2nd time I was there. Salesman was trying to handle multiple customers to the point he was getting confused on which one he was working with. We had multiple convos about features that should be in the car but couldn't test the until you get the KiaConnect app after buying. They kept saying I am getting better rate than my pre-approval from my bank...nope they tried to give me a worse one. Also, be aware they try to add a market value markup last min saying they have to stay competitive. Sorry but the market didn't change in the 15 mins we've been talking. They tell you they got you a deal on their bumper to bumper for a $1.50 that "oh you'll use" said the finance man, but fail to tell you it's $45 more a month. Ended up not leaving until 2 hrs after closing. Exhausted of course I trusted them and didn't check the KiaConnect until the next day. No features as I was sold. Went back, got told by the sales manager he'll see what he can do. I was told to come in pick a car and they will work it out. After explaining many times I did not want to pay more. They of course only had the next trim up with the features for $5k more. "I thought we had the LXS with the features but I guess I was wrong" said the sales manaer. So I returned the car. They are so concerned about their surveys for their Presidential Aware thing that they fill it out for you and forge a signature so its guaranteed to have a 100% satisfaction. Every person you talk to I'll tell you something new, question why the last one said something different. They don't care about client satisfaction, if they had true client satisfaction they wouldn't need a money back guarantee. read more

"Shop me first, shop me last?" Shop me NEVER would be a better suggestion! They are the absolute worst!! I've been trying to schedule an appointment for an "important safety recall" for three weeks now. The first time I called, the girl couldn't get her computer to work. She said she would have someone call me back. Four and a half hours later...still no call. So, I called them. The girl I spoke to then scheduled an appointment for me the very next day. I show up at my appointment time only to be given every excuse from they don't have the part to the repair tool broke the day before. So...why schedule my appointment then? Why make me waste my time driving there? (Again, no phone call to let me know.) Apparently, their phones are incapable of making outbound calls. My mom also has a Kia purchsed at this location when it was still Central Kia. (I bought mine at a dealership closer to where I work, based off of the excellent experience we had with her car.) We were trying to get her recall repaired, as well. They canceled the appointments the week of Christmas, during a phone call made TO them, mind you. Apparently, they're still unable to make the repairs. They said they'd call back. Guess what? They haven't. I chatted today with someone who still could not tell me if they could make the repairs. Same line: "we'll have someone call you back." This dealership and their poor service are certainly damaging the Kia brand. Very disappointing. Avoid at all costs! read more

My son and I saw a car advertised by Clay Cooley Kia on Car gurus for 8k. We were extremely interested and hurried to go see the car. We got there and they had the car ready for a test drive. After a test drive we were confident this was the car we wanted. it did have an issue with the passenger seat belt but figured this would be fixed since it was a safety feature. We met with the sales person and she took our information. after some time she finally brought out the sales price sheet. We were in disbelief. the total at the bottom was over 13k. They now wanted 10k for the car plus $995 connected and protected package, over 1k for motor trend certification, more fees and then TT and L. I asked why was the price now 10k, she tried to give some BS about how car gurus is a third party site. like they dont control the price. She then went on to ask me what I wanted to pay, I explained I wanted to pay 8k plus TTL. she told me the connected and protected is a required fee on all their cars. So after trying to get me to pay over 13k the manager came back with 9905$. and not fixing the seat belt. so in the end we walked but to all those prospective buyers out there remember the price you see on their sites is not the price you will be asked to pay. I am writing in regards to a 2017 Kia Sorento that I purchased from Clay Cooley Kia in October of 2017 and in February 22nd, 2021 it left me stranded on the side of the road. I have three warranties on the car, 1. Manufactures warranties, 2. The recall warranty that was done on it, which I was told it was a lifetime warranty on the engine, 3. The extended warranty that I received when I purchased the car. I was driving down I-30 in Fort Worth on February 22nd, 2021 when the car left me stranded on the highway. I then called a tow truck to pick it up and I send it to the closest Kia dealership. Which was, Moritz Kia in Fort Worth. They had it for about 3 months and then lied to me stating that they submitted a claim to Kia and it was denied, come to find out Kia didn't deny the claim the Service Manger Frank Juares at Moritz Kia did. So, at that point I tried calling the Kia Corporation at lease 10 times to get this taken care of, and when I did finally get to speak to someone they kept giving me the run around, stating that they would call me back and never did. So, then I tried reaching out to Clay Cooley Kia where I purchased the vehicle from, just to be told by Jacob, that there was nothing that they can do. I then asked Jacob," What exactly do you mean there is nothing that you can do". Jacob stated that since Moritz Kia has already submitted a claim to Kia and it was denied that they couldn't send another one, I then expressed to Jacob that Moritz Kia had lied and said that they submitted a claim to Kia but they didn't (and then also was blown off by Jacob) that Moritz Kia Service Manager Frank Juares was the one that refused to fix it, not Kia. Moritz Kia didn't ask me for anything as far as oil change receipts they just flat out refused to fix it. I have several friend that also own Kia Sorento that this has happened to same exact engine problems, and Kia replaced the engine and didn't ask them for anything, but I was asked for oil change receipts, purchase agreement for the vehicle. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY VEHICLE SINCE FEBRUARY 22nd, 2021 AND IT IS NOW OCTOBER 15TH, 2021 THAT'S 8 MONTHS THAT IS ABSOLUTLEY REDICULAS! That the Kia manufacture will not honor any of their warranties. If I do not hear for someone at Kia soon, I will be contacting a Products Liability Attorney and suing the Kia Corporation. This is my very first Kia and I will NEVER Purchase another Kia every again. I would rather ride a bike at least its more reliable. And, I promise you, that I will spend the rest of my days getting the word out on how shitty Kia's are and how shitty they treat there customers. read more

I called to set up a deal for my mother in law, who just lost her husband six weeks prior and was assured by Sierra and the sales manager we had a firm deal. When my poor mother in law arrived to pay in cash, they made all the excuses in the world to try and get more than the original agreement. I really didn't want to write a bad review because my car buying experience was actually really nice. However, I recently found out that the Nissan Juke I purchased had a slow oil leak that lead to damage on the camshaft seal, boot, and CV joint. I was told by the mechanic that it was an issue that clearly had been going on long before I purchased the vehicle due to the amount of damage. I really don't want to believe it was intentionally undisclosed to me, but I cannot help but feel extremely disappointed by the news . I was telling everyone I knew how great Clay Cooley Kia was, and now I feel like I made a mistake endorsing them to my friends and coworkers. Sadly I don't have a warranty so really I'm just out of luck on this $1800 issue. I don't feel like they're bad people, in fact I think there are a lot of really great people at this location. I just feel like it I need to stress the importance of having these purchases checked out by your own mechanic before you buy the car. Since my car only had 35k miles on it and Clay Cooley Nissan was next door I felt confident when I was told they'd checked out everything and stood behind it. Take your business just a little further down the road and visit Classic Kia in Carrollton instead. Much better buying experience and was able to get an extended warranty, maintenance package and a shorter term with lower interest rate and still came out $20 less per month than what Clay Cooley was quoting. Clay Cooley also tried to hide and hold onto the incentive cash for the purchase and wanted you to sign many of the purchase forms before even giving you the estimated payment. I wish I could leave a lower review of this place. Absolutely horrible. We came in to look at a specific vehicle. We told the salesman and he searched his inventory and said there wasn't anything at that price point. He immediately tried to upsell another by 3000. We told him again what we were looking for and provided the stock number. He had to go to the back and check. came back with the more expensive one for us to drive. I stood to leave as he was clearly going to waste my time trying to increase his commission. I'm a big guy, and he moved around his desk to stand between me and the door. I told him I didnt have time to waste. He left again and we went back to our car. Called from the parking lot and a manager answered, verifying the car we wanted was there. we drove the lot looking for it and another manager stopped us and asked if he could help. I told him about the situation, that I had gotten frustrated and then angry at the salesman, and he promised to make it right. I went in and while they were "finding the car," the manager comes back with 6 other cars for me to look at. they told me that with the complete care package, they were similar price. I told him I didnt want a complete care package, at which time he told me they didnt sell cars without the packages (an additional $1500), so I was looking at that on top of the list price plus ttl. Waste of time, bait and switch and outdated high pressure sales tactics. to top it off , I had to educate my daughter how someone with a smile could actually be trying to pressure you into doing something you dont want to. So I guess in the end I should be grateful... Thanks, Clay Cooley, for providing me the opportunity to teach my daughter how not to get raped. And before anyone tries customer service damage control, get over it. To whom it may concern. Check your contract and put the numbers together. Tax should only be 6.5 percent. Do the math and see if you have paid more than you should have.. they stuck a $2000 warrenty on my use car but the manager made me sigh a buy as is no warranty. Financing slipped and told me. After removing it my payment went down $40 but after doing the math at the end of the loan I was still paying $2000 dollars extra. At first I was really hesitant to make the 2 hr travel to get my car serviced here. My first experience with Clay Cooley Kia was not very pleasant. We came because of a deal that was going on and instead of getting said deal with ended up with something totally different. Our salesman was very rude, not to mention he was very persistent when it came to signing the papers. Nonetheless, their manager worked with us and we eventually left with the vehicle we wanted. Now on to my second experience with Clay Cooley Kia.... the service department absolutely changed my view on the place. Today I experienced the WORST customer service by this man "DAVID NEWBAUER". I usually always come to this dealership as I have. Even getting great honest service from these folks. However NOT today!!! I came to get my car serviced as usual, and David was my service manager. I typically introduce my self, as any decent human being. And the first thing this guy said to me is "what do you want". Guy didn't even shake my hand. I knew this was not going to go good. Few hours in as I'm waiting for my car. He tells me he has bad news for me, and they need to clean my fuel injectors. And that I need to service them every 6 months. Also my tires need rotating... This man straight up lied through his teeth. Since first of all I bought my brand new tires just a week before. Second, you DONT need to have fuel injectors clean every 6 months...heck the last time I came here the service manager told me I had nothing to worry about! I even checked them my self with another friend who is a mechanic after leaving and we found no issue! Who is this guy and why did you hire him!! Really disappointed in this dealership. Called about a 2015 Kia Optima that was listed online. Sales told me it was still available. Headed that way from Frisco, get within 5 miles and they call to say it sold. Turn around and get back close to Frisco and get the call that the "sale fell through". I need a car and it looked good online, so I turn around and drive back down. On the way walking to the car with sales person he tells me it was a repo and they didn't have any keys. Had a great experience last week buying a car from Clay Cooley Kia. My son was buying a car for himself for the first time. He'd done his research and also had a bad experience at another dealership. So, he was clear about what he wanted and what he thought a fair price would be. The only question was whether one of the cars we were going to see was 'the right one" and whether they would sell it for an acceptable price. Our salesman was David Tushman and he was great: professional, informative, efficient, and very accommodating. Very quickly we had looked at all the options and narrowed the field down to one car my son would be interested in. Unfortunately, when we got to final costs, the dealership was including a $1900 fee for an assortment of add-ones my son didn't really care about. Truthfully, my son had had his fill of these kinds of surprise costs and he wasn't going to play that game. By this time we were dealing with Jerry Ernst, desk manager. I was quite surprised when Jerry ultimately accepted the price my son set as his limit. I am writing you to launch a serious formal complaint about one of your employees, the General Manager at the Clay Cooley Kia location in Irving - Joe Fernandez. I put $5000 down on a 2017 Kia Forte on a Saturday but had to wait to pick it up on Monday since detailing and inspection needed to be finished. When I got home, my husband and I found some discrepancies in the finances. On Monday, December 30, 2019, Hunter the salesman from Saturday texted me that he was running late and to ask for Joe Fernandez, the General Manager. I arrived with my mom to pick up the 2017 Kia Forte S at 10AM. I asked for Joe and I told him I had questions about the finances and I would appreciate his assistance. He directed me and my mom to Tray Taylor's office and I asked if Joe could stay for the meeting because I would appreciate his help. I started the conversation with, "I don't understand how a $13,500 car is costing me $20,000, when I've put $5,000 down." (They had added all kinds of add-ons and warranties I NEVER agreed to.) Joe was texting on his phone and so I politely said, "Sir, I would really appreciate it if you would not be on your phone right now, because I am asking for your help." Joe immediately blew up and started yelling in a manner that left me and my mom shaking and scared. My mom stood up between me and Joe to protect me. He proceeded to yell at me telling me that I "don't have a right to tell him what to do and didn't know who he was" and that he "has a business to run and important things to do." I responded by saying that I understood he had a business to run, because I am the customer and was asking for his help. I told him "I don't appreciate being treated like this and if this is how you are going to treat a customer, I do not want the car anymore and would like my money back." Joe stormed off and Tray let us out of our contract. Because of Joe, I felt unsafe, scared, threatened, disrespected, and belittled. I had every intention of simply working things out that day, but after Joe's outburst, I will never do business with any Clay Cooley establishments ever again. I will continue to let everyone that I talk to know about how I was treated by Joe. I will also be sure to tell others of the misleading fraudulent add-ons and warranties in my paperwork that I never agreed to, upping the price of the car thousands of dollars. The entire sale was shady and dishonest, only to be wrapped up with being yelled at by management after a simple request for him to not be on his phone while I was talking to him. I expect an in person, formal apology from Joe Fernandez to my mother and myself for his outrageous and offensive behavior. I look forward to your reply and a resolution to this issue. After being transferred to that department I had on the line Mr. Stephen the chief of the financial department. As a customer or potential one I believe I have the right to questions when I think I need a better understanding which I could not get based on what he said. And guess what to my biggest surprise being unable to give responses to my questions I decided to hang up on me. I think he needs more customer service training because this is not how to treat people on the phone. This was very unprofessional and I believe this is the reason why you keep having low reviews. I had to call back and him know that he was very rude and unprofessional. You probably need to learn what other are doing to either get customers or maintain them. The experience I had with the folks at Clay Cooley KIA was awful. I'm a middle aged lady looking to trade in a good used car for a new car. My sales rep was Tony C. He kept talking and walking me around the lot even though I told him specifically which vehicle type I wanted to test drive. When it was time to drive one, he drove it.....wierd. A fella named Jason in the office was friendly to me and that's the only reason why I'm giving this place even one star. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't leave ANY stars. Jason deserves 5 stars but because of the experience with 3 other people besides Jason, the overall rating of my experience is the one star. Back to my experience, I had an appt with Tony C and I knew exactly which car I wanted to test drive so why was I there almost 2 hours before getting to drive it is beyond me. By the time I was finished haggling with Tony, 4 hours had gone by and I was starting to feel pretty bad and needed my meds. Then my experience with Rene H. began. All the paperwork had to be signed. It was an awful ordeal because she was pressuring me to add on several different insurance policies that I didn't want. I was feeling really bad and needed to get out of there..and like I said it was more than 4 hours by this point so I took on a couple policies just to get out of there. I don't feel ripped off by the car but without a doubt I feel like Tony and Rene took advantage of me. I regret going to Clay Cooley KIA and I won't ever purchase a car from ANY Clay Cooley dealer again. A couple days after the purchase, Jason called to inquire about my car but when I returned his call, he wasn't in and I wanted to leave a message for him but the lady that answered said for me to just call back another time. I did, twice and that lady wouldn't take a message either. I didn't call a forth time. I just got a call that my plates were in and the lady asked me to come by and pick them up. I asked if someone there could put them on for me and she said no. So now, after the initial bad experience, I'll have to bother somebody, possibly a neighbor that I barely know, to put on my plates. It was at this time I asked the lady to resend the email survey because mine had expired. She told me it couldn't be done and that I can go to YELP to rate them. Now, I told her it was going to be a negative review and it didn't seem to click with her that she could have had me discuss my bad experience with someone there before making this public. I didn't get good service from Tony C., Rene H. and the phone ladies. Like I said, I'd give Jason 5 stars...at least he called to checkup...but adding in all the other customer service I can only give them one star and that's being generous. I'm a nice lady that doesn't deserve to be treated this way. I had all my ducks in a row before I went in there. I have excellent credit....I was treated with very little respect and with no regard to the length of time out of my day to make this purchase. I watched as my friend purchased a Kia at this dealership yesterday. The finance agent was harried and unusually concerned that she was doing the work of two since the other finance person was on vacation. Whatever her reasons, she promised that the closing would be a mere formality. That said, she proceeded to try to upsell three different warranty plans. All were clearly turned-down. Eventually, the flurry of paperwork began: "Initial here! Sign here! Don't date it,machine will do that." On and on...for the next twenty minutes. We had already been held-up for over FOUR HOURS waiting to close on this car. My friend had applied on-line, and an understanding as to monthly payment, term and final price was agreed-to with their initial contact. After the flurry of signing and many apologies from the finance lady the deal was done. Later that evening, the contract was reviewed at home. Well: the terms of the agreement were not as originally agreed with 72 months rather than 60 months. Also, the finance rate was about 2 percent higher than originally discussed. Lastly, an additional warranty was in effect. I distinctly heard her state that, "You get this with the car." Unfortunately, that warranty is an additional several hundred dollars. i went in with my mom to buy a car after mine had completely crapped out. the specific car i went to look at they told me was being inspected and serviced to be CPO'd at another Kia dealership, so they let me test drive a similar model and i decided to buy the car. not until the day they said the car would be ready did they tell us they were "waiting on tires that were on back order" and it "might" be ready by the end of the week. the end of the week comes and we're told that not only were they not even waiting on tires, but the car was being serviced for BODY DAMAGE. liars and thieves, all of them. we're getting our check back and im never coming to another Kia. read more

The best car buying experience! Ron Jackson and his team are awesome! Justin and Kathy listened to my request and concerns and delivered! I had gone to Kia Central Plano and Mortiz Kia and treated so poorly that I didn't want to go to another dealer but Justin called me and asked me what I needed and I detailed my needs and explained my frustration with the ill treatment I had received for being a woman. Absolute WORST car buying experience I have ever had. The first employee we spoke with and his assistant manager let us sit for three and a half hours negotiating a car, that was apparently NON-NEGOTIABLE. The worst part of this entire visit was dealing with the financial manager Greg Anzaldua. After spending three and a half hours getting our numbers how we liked them, he comes in with a terrible attitude and tells us abruptly that we were misinformed and there was nothing he could do or would do to help us. They ran our credit twice after we SIGNED a paper for the negotiated price, stating they only run our credit no more than three times, and then we couldn't get the car for that price?!! He was extremely rude, condescending, and unwilling to work with us after we were lead to believe the online price for the car was negotiable by not one or two, but THREE people including two managers. I will not do business with this place, neither will my friends or family, and I suggest if you're reading this you don't either. read more

I was searching for a car for two months and was starting to believe that I would never come across a car that was affordable for me as a student, reliable, and with excellent gas mileage. I purchased a 2016 Kia Forte5 this past Saturday and I was impressed with the customer service at this location. I purchased my previous car at the Clay Cooley Chevy location but did not want to return there and I am glad I chose this dealership instead. Romeo was our salesman and was not pushy at all, I really felt like he wanted us in the right car for our needs. The finance people were all very helpful and friendly as well. The manager, LD Upton was very attentive and even made friends with my son. I do not have great credit or a lot of spare cash right now so was nervous before going in to trade in my car that was not even worth half of what I owed but things worked out well. My interest rate is much better than what is was and the new vehicle has a pretty solid warranty. read more
