Embellish is a fantastic salon with almost all the stylists very skilled and tenured in their craft. The owner does everything possible to please her clients. It is an intimate environment where everyone knows each other quite well. I have been going to Lois for over a year. She is a very skilled hairdresser with deep "colorist" knowledge. The only downside is that almost everyone is busy, so one needs to book early to get the appointment time they want. I guess this is the downside of going to someone that really knows their stuff. Went this morning to get a long overdue deep tissue massage with Geoffrey, and i would HIGHLY recommend seeing him! Everything was fantastic, and he was very personable as well as an excellent massage therapist! I walked into Salon Embellish knowing little more than the fact that it's an Aveda salon, and it shares a plaza with an independent bookstore and an independent coffee house. I have thick, wavy, graying hair, and I was just too hot. I had no appointment, but they assured me that they could serve me in 20 minutes. They were true to their word. The stylist (Charlotte) took the time to listen to what I wanted, provided her own suggestions, and gave me an awesome, no maintenance short haircut that's garnered many compliments. She recommended product that works well with my hair. She did not attempt to convince me to color or blow dry my hair (big plus for her). This short cut will require more maintenance, but I'm glad I did it, and I'll go back to Embellish for said maintenance. read more

I was recommended this place and I was very iffy at trying new salons bc I'm very picky with people touching my hair let alone cutting it! I had really long hair that went passed my butt and decided to cut it up to my shoulders and I was pushing it off for so long. I went in and it was such a nice environment, I booked my appointment with Loris and she cut it up to mid-back so it'd be easier to start off with, she washed it, cut it, styled it and it was exactly what i had in mind with little detail in what I said. I was referred to Jamie. First time great cut. second time I came out with green hair and my cut was too long. I explained everything to the receptionist. Jamie corrected my color but told me she did not have time to correct my cut. I told her I would come in again and she said no she would trim. She was so reckless that she cut a patch of my hair almost to the scalp. She then tried to charge me an extra $75 for her color mistake. The new owner, Claudia, intervened and straightened everything out. I have never been treated so poorly by a stylist. Embelish is fantastic! Everyone at the salon is extremely friendly. I was having some issues getting in for my appointment so I would have to call a few hours before and reschedule. I did this a total of three times. But, they were always glad to have me reschedule! So when I finally went to get my hairs cut I was a little nervous because I had never gone to a real salon before and I was surrounded by women. I was immediately offered a beverage and because they were running a little late they offered me a drink again because I refused the first one. Then the actual haircut began. It was amazing! They start off with a head massage and they let you breathe in some essential oils. It was very relaxing even though I don't really like those things too much. Diona was sooo friendly and made me feel right at home. She cuts with such precision and delicacy. She knows exactly what she is doing and she is very good at it. Please give them a try! I've come a couple times I see Deborah, she's amazing!! But I went in yesterday Deborah did my cut and Sydney did my color, I trust Deborah so I knew I was in great hands!!! This salon is so welcoming and makes you feel comfortable, if you come in and don't know exactly what you want they have your back! I love my hair sooo much I'll put some pictures up. Stacey with Gingery Estetic is AMAZING! The passion she has for what she does is why I let her micro blade my brows. It's been over a year and they still look amazing! The shape is perfect for my face and what I specifically wanted. I'm such a control freak I don't have any tattoos at all, but I let her tattoo my face! When people would tell me how much it hurt I was ready for it, but it wasn't bad at all! I believe it's because she makes sure the client is comfortable and uses the right products to help rid much of the potential pain. I have never felt so good about myself when I wake up in the morning as I do with these brows. My hairs are pretty much clear and don't take color, so this was my only viable option and I still look at them in the morrow without product and am in AW! If you have curly or wavy hair, Charlotte is the stylist to go to, she understands and will give you great cut/color to compliment it. My family has been coming to this salon for over four years. We love the owners, who have been so accommodating when it comes to our schedule with two small kids. We really like Deanna and Manuel. The prices are also very reasonable for an Aveda Salon. It is also nice that Aveda has reduced the chemicals in their products. The salon is very clean and doesn't smell like perm. Also the ventaltion is quite good. The stylist continue to get education and are very meticulous. They do not rush and always get every hair in place. Nothing worse than getting home with a few hairs here and there that did not get cut. Last, but not least I love Michelle. Her manicures and pedicures are lovely. My hair stylist first referred me to MJ for a brow wax, but when that salon closed it doors for good, I just followed MJ to the next place - Salon Embellish! Salon Embellish is a gem - in the central/downtown Phoenix area, reasonable prices and great service. If you drop in, you'll notice that they're expanding the salon into the suite next door. And I love that they're located in a corridor with a local coffee shop and bookstore! My favorite stylist, Loris, ("Lo-reece") moved to Salon Embellish the first of the year, so of course I followed her. Salon Embellish just opened in January. It is very modern, with walls painted espresso and green. It is light and airy, very pleasant. In addition to full salon services, they offer facials and massages. The staff I encountered seemed very pleasant. But Loris - she rocks. She is an amazing colorist, and gives great cut. She listens, and colored my hair the way I asked when no one else would. I absolutely love my stylist Loris! She never fails to deliver a fantastic haircut or color. I feel totally at ease going to her and telling her what is going on in my life and asking her to make my hair reflect those happenings. Say I wanted a new cut and color for fall. I would feel more than comfortable to go to her and just tell her to do what she thinks will look good and I know without a doubt it will look great, compliment my skin tone and face shape, and that we will have a great time along the way. I'm not coloring on this visit but in the past I've regularly darkened for fall and lightened or highlighted for summer with no issues whatsoever during the transition. Since this is right next to wear I go to yoga; I decided to give them a try with a $20 off coupon. I had no trouble getting an appontment that was convenient for me within a week. Selerna who did my hair has curly hair herself so that put me as ease. It being an Aveda salon meant it was quality product and sraff. Selena gave me a terrific razor cut; conditioned my hair and left the conditoner in as she trimmed up the shape. The result is an adorable curly pixie. I am very pleased. Can't say enough good things about Dionna! I recently moved out to the West Coast and my last hair cut in LA was a complete disaster so I was a bit hesitant to try someone new. Was visiting family out in Phoenix for the week and tried Salon Embellish based on positive Yelp reviews. My hair is thick/coarse with some random waves & curls so it's always challenging to find someone who knows how to work with it. Dionna is a dream come true! I would like to begin with the fact that I do love the girls that work here they are hip and they have great attitudes combined with the great smiles this is the making for any great successful business. I went into Embellish over a year ago. When I and I had a hair emergency! I had attempted to dye my hair with a box dye from the store and I had totally screwed it up. So embarrassed went back to the store bought a box of Color Oops. I applied to Color Oops and my hair came out the same way it was when I screwed it up. So I finally decided to go to embellish they were directly down the street from where I was living at the time. When I walked in I was assisted by Kenzie who was a great person to have doing your hair she was funny she was hip she was funny she was cute , and most of all she was informative. Long story a little bit shorter I have by the end of 5 hours she had put the color on my hair that I was looking for from the jump. Knowing what I know now I believe that she should have probably told me come back in 6 weeks when your hair is not burnt or over-processed and we'll fix it. But she didn't say that she said yeah well we'll just Re dye again. I believe this just added to my over-processing nightmare. Anyway my hair was okay for that small amount of time that lasted for maybe about 2 months. I went back to Kenzie for my follow-up. I had openly complain to her about the fact that my head was very itchy and big spots were red and patchy. She recommended a moisturizing treatment from Aveda that was combined with Royal jelly. During this treatment the itching subsided for 2 days and since then let me remind you this was over a year ago my head is still itching my hair is still breaking and I have yet to be able to get someone to give me a correct haircut because the last cut that Kenzie gave me I believe she messed up very bad. She was in a hurry to go on a trip out of town and push me out the door very quickly after cutting my hair. I've had several hair stylists refuse to cut my hair or touch my hair because they said that the last person who cut it cut a huge chunk out of the back of it and I have to let it grow for at least you know x amount of time before having it cut otherwise it's going to be boy short. My husband and I bought her Stevie Nicks tickets which were over $100 for her and her mother. That's the effect that she had on me she attempted to help me and in lieu of all that I now have the worst hair I could ever imagine. I have chosen to put a review on Yelp over a year later in hopes that possibly I can get some relief from this hair nightmare. The total bill on my hair the first time I went to embellish was over $400 and that was just to dye it. I love the store I love the girls however every single day I wish I had never gone there. I feel that maybe the girls that work there could be a little more educated on situations such as mine. read more
