This is still the ONLY PLACE I would go for my hair in Phoenix! Aside from being adorable and clean inside, but it supports environmental values that are really important to me. Marion is a master with hair, and I don't know what I will do when I move away! I came to her as a blonde, and she took good care of me, but since I decided to go back to being a dark brunette, I have really gotten more compliments on my hair than ever before. A basic cut and color can be done anywhere, but it can't be done masterfully anywhere. This is the spot. read more

This place is SO CUTE! I can't believe I've never seen it or heard of it before. It's in the same complex as Windsor and Churn, two of my favorite places but I got a curly hair cut with Amie here and she was AMAZING! The atmosphere and ambiance inside is so cute and feminine and I'm all for organic and natural products so I love that this place is an organic hair salon & they have an organic nail salon inside too! Amie did a beautiful layered curly cut, as she specializes in curly hair, and she was very knowledgeable about every product and sharing all the benefits with me. I can't remember the last time I felt this good about my hair color! Seriously it's been years... I have had one disaster after another and with red hair it can be really tricky if someone doesn't know what they're doing. Sarah not only spent a lot of time talking to me and communicating and listening but she was able to guide me and make suggestions in a way that I couldn't explain or figure out for myself. She checked in with me every step of the way. At the end was so happy with how it looked and what she did that I realized I haven't felt this good about my hair color in years plus the fact that it's nontoxic/organic and super clean ingredients is just a cherry on top for me because being in the holistic health field myself, it's very important to me to use products and services that are good for my health and my immune function. One of a kind hair & nail salon. Met one of the owners, Marion, she educated me on their products. They are absolutely fantastic & very low in chemicals. Not only can you get natural organic hair dyes they also work just as well as the toxic chemical dyes. No ammonia no bleach! I can finally feel comfortable dying my hair while pregnant. Absolutely LOVE this place!! Sarah was so helpful when I came in to talk about my hair. Growing out grey hair and trying not to look old can be a challenge- let alone dealing with not wanting to be exposed to harmful chemicals after a breast cancer diagnosis last year. Sarah connected me with Kate who is amazing! She listened to my concerns, and found a cut that works for my hair. I can wear it straight, beach waves or my natural wavy, curls and love it no matter what. We also addressed my color concerns and came up with a solution to let me "deal" with the grey hair coming in and even out the color remaining from when I last dyed my hair (a year ago). Most unprofessional establishment rude I am floored by the attitude! Policy not made clear prior to appt. Back to teaching full time made mistake on the date. I was told I was notified. I WAS NOT I had no text or voice mail messages. Threaten to charge me for the service . This was never told to me when I booked. I said I did not get a reminder email text or phone call. When I said I refused to pay owner said "Well u can't ever come back here" trust me after the attitude I hope no one goes back their. FIrst most people consult with out a charge they charged me 25 dollars. I accepted it understand business need money. Their was no professionalism at all. Hanging up on me and having an attitude not acceptable at least I found out now. Extremely disappointed they were recommended and it was not going to be cheap over priced. Wanted to support. I have been following Sarah since I discovered her at her beauty school. I wasn't sure about trusting a student, but I was encouraged to ask for her specifically and our story begins there. I've followed her since then. I mourned when she spent a couple years in NYC and grew my hair out rather than trust anyone else. I actually connected with her twice in NYC and got cuts to see me thru those dark days in Phoenix. I was thrilled when she and her friend opened Organic Hair Lab on Grand Ave. I drive across town joyfully, knowing that my hair will look and feel great. Sarah is patient with my "surprise me" days, having gone thru many style changes over the year. I mean, why be ordinary when you can be extraordinary, am I right? I usually have some variation of vivid colors, which she is an expert with. I mean, LITERALLY an expert, as she is an educator for an international color line. AND she won an international style competition a couple years ago. I've never been dissatisfied. IF I ever had to go to someone else there, I'd feel totally confident with Marion or Autumn, as I've been watching their work for nearly as long as Sarah. Sarah treats your hair while she massages your very soul. She is empathetic, smart, savvy and intuitive. There have been times I've unloaded on her and she is most definitely there for me. Add in the marvelous shampoo and head massage and I just want to live there forever. The salon itself is simple, relaxing and super clean. I really appreciate all they do to make us all safe and comfortable during this pandemic. I am so glad there are not people wandering in and out and just hanging out as I am immune compromised. Another important ingredient for me is that there phone system sends me reminders of my appointment time, so there is no confusion on my part, because I readily admit that can easily happen. Also, they are completely upfront about their pricing, time to plan for appointments, etc. The cherry on the cake is that they are organic and zero waste ... a GREAT example for all businesses to follow. read more

First impression when I walked in the salon was how cute it was. It's chic, and urban. Loved their expression of organic. It has a cool vibe being so close to the city. Which is nice, without having to deal with the traffic of downtown. We had three appointments for myself, and my two daughters; who are 12 & 5 years old. We got deep conditioning treatments, cut and style. It was our first time here and it was an overall pleasant experience, especially considering the pandemic going on. Autumn was our stylist. She was very accommodating to our needs and understood the cut/styles we wanted without having to overly explaining. Right away that made me feel confident in her abilities. She also was very patient with my youngest daughter, who is five years old. Who wanted to play on the chalk board wall, and was moving a lot while she was sitting in the salon chair. So I was impressed with how well she handled that. Overall, we had a great experience and all loved how our hair felt and looked. My 12 year old was extremely happy with her end results.
