I adore Dayna and her talent is worth traveling over the San Mateo bridge. (As I mentioned in my old review, I used to live on Treasure Island in SF and I still made my way out to Classic Touch. So I've also traveled over the Bay Bridge because she's that good!) From what I understand, she frequently goes to conferences and workshops so she can continue to know the latest trends and techniques. Looking for the perfect hair color? I've been waiting to color my hair this certain shade of eggplant and told Annette and she found it and now I alternate between Annette and Natalie and they make my hair gorgeous with this color. I posted once before to thank Natalie Salvato for her work but I had to post again to continue my gratitude for all she's done for me. I've been coming to her almost 6 years now and refuse to ever stop. I get so many compliments on my hair color/style that I've had several friends come to her for their hair. My mom hasn't come to a salon in over 15 years but felt more than comfortable to see Natalie and even came a second time to get wedding hairstyles with me for my big day. Dayna has colored and cut my hair over ten years. She has gotten to know my likes and dislikes during this time and is always open to ideas which I appreciate so much in a hairstylist. Parking is usually not an issue. There's a parking lot next to the salon and also street parking available. Leave the kiddos at home though. Unless you've got someone else watching them during your appt. there's a huge toy store across the street to pass the time away. Get to San Mateo a few minutes early and you can walk to nearby Draegers and grab a pastry and coffee before your appointment. read more

I have known Annette for many years (not going to tell you how long, don't want to date ourselves..haha) and have followed her through her career as a hair stylist. She has been at Classic Touch Salon for some time now and even though I live in San Jose I take the drive up to San Mateo. The atmosphere is relaxed and other stylists are very friendly. Annette's flexibility is so appreciated! I have 3 jobs and usually need a Saturday or evening appointment. On some occasions she has even come in on her day off to work with my schedule. The topper is she is always willing to listen to what I want. I have tried many styles and colors and she never lets me down, I always feel FABULOUS when I leave. Give her a try. Went to get a manicure from Lisa and LOVED IT. She never disappoints. The girls in my family have been going to Lisa for years now and have followed her to a few salons she has worked in. She does such a great job and takes time to make sure your nails look great. Lisa is very sweet and knowledgable about nail polishes, styles and designs. She gives hand/arm massage with a basic manicure which is always nice!! I would recommend Lisa to anyone. read more

Paola Ha was my "hair angel" yesterday, the eve before the New Year! At the last minute I decided to get my hair cut & styled. I called Paola and she had me come in that afternoon. I have been going to Dayna for the past 10yrs, she has been doing a great job with my hair and completely recommend her. I have VERY thick straight hair, which can make a cut and style difficult, but she always does a great job at making my hair manageable for day to day styling. One word: fiasco. My husband went here for a haircut. If you're younger than 35, or want a youthful style that involves clippers, stay away! We had to go to Great Clips the same day to fix the cut so that he looked presentable. What a disaster. read more

Typically I go to Supercuts or Great Clips, theres not really that much to my hair cut, simple & short. But I did like the service and my hair cuts do look better when I leave there. Dana is the bomb! I have been going to her for at least 15 years...I drive across the San Mateo Bridge over 40 miles..but it is worth it...tried others but they can't hold a candle to Dana....she has a great personality and is very talented with an eye for what style looks best on your shaped face, but always listening to what you want.
