Unfortunately, my experiences on 7/1 and 7/29 have left me seriously considering taking my business elsewhere. Both times, I booked my appointment online and specifically requested my preferred technician. When I arrived on 7/1, I was told, "She's not working today," and was assigned to another technician instead. I did not have a positive experience with that appointment, but I let it go and assumed it was a one-time issue. I scheduled another appointment with my preferred technician for 7/29. When I arrived, I was told once again that she was not working and was being passed to another technician. What was even more disappointing was the interaction that followed when I expressed my disappointment about this happening twice in the same month. The owner was dismissive and told me that my preferred technician has had Wednesdays off "for two years already" and that I should have known. She also stated that I didn't understand what she told me during my previous visit. However, when someone says, "She's not working today," most people would reasonably interpret that to mean she is unavailable that day, not that she never works Wednesdays. That information was never clearly communicated to me. If this technician truly does not work Wednesdays, the online booking system should reflect that. As of the time I am writing this review, the website still shows availability for her on future Wednesdays, allowing customers to book appointments that apparently cannot be honored. What bothered me most was the lack of accountability and empathy. In my experience with other service providers, whether salons, massage therapists, or instructors, if the person you booked with is unavailable, the business contacts you beforehand so you can decide whether to keep the appointment with someone else or reschedule. Instead, Aesthetic Nails' process appears to be confirming appointments by text, having customers arrive for their scheduled appointment, and only then informing them that their requested technician is unavailable before assigning them to someone else. I didn't raise the issue on 7/1, but after it happened again on 7/29, I felt it was important to bring it to management's attention. Unfortunately, my concerns were met with a dismissive attitude rather than an effort to understand or resolve the situation. If you don't have a preference for a particular technician and are comfortable being reassigned upon arrival, Aesthetic Nails may still work well for you. However, if booking with a specific technician is important to you, my experience is that the online scheduling system and communication process may not be reliable or a positive experience.

I called ahead of time to ask what time they close, in which the guy told me 10pm. I told them I'd be there at 6:45pm, and when I did get there, I patiently waited 45 mins to be seated in a chair. I asked if they could do a 3D design on my nails (which I had asked over the phone), and they said they could, but by the time I was seated, and I showed one of the techs what I wanted, she said they stop doing designs at 7pm. I was very frustrated because I could have gone somewhere else if I knew I couldn't get the birthday nails I wanted, but at that point it was too late. So I found a more simple look, in which they agreed they would do. Holly did amazing on my pedicure, but by the time they got to my manicure, I could tell they were rushing. I'm a very understanding and kind person. I honestly wish I had just canceled the manicure. They didn't even prep my nails (i.e. remove my cuticles). The cherry on top was how expensive it was for such a poor job -- $150 . I feel so taken advantage of honestly, and it's a really bad start to my birthday now. She even forgot to put a top coat on my left hand and I can tell the difference.

I moved to Hayward recently and had been bouncing around trying to find a new nail spot--came across Sam's page because I was curious about Russian manicures and she does them beautifully. Just a heads up on the booking process: the site directs you to request an appointment, but it's not auto-confirmed--Sam has to accept it manually. For my first appointment, I booked for the next day and wasn't sure if it was going through, so now I just DM her directly to check in. Super easy once you know the flow. Sam herself is super sweet and easy to talk to. She recently went solo with her business, so it's just her now--and honestly, I love that. It's chill, one-on-one, and you can tell she really cares about quality. She has a gorgeous selection of colors and uses high-end products, which I think is why everything lasts so long. The first time I went, my nails were in sad shape and I honestly didn't think they'd bounce back. A month later? I've got legit nails I'm proud to show off. I had multiple pictures to pull inspiration from, I loved that we were able to collaborate and create a beautiful and stunning set together. The suggestions she gave made so much sense and I'm glad I was also open/receptive to them! I have now taken off my nails, but it was HARD! I had them on for a month, NO lifting in sight, top coat was still shinny. I also have crooked fingers from cracking them so often, Dani did an AMAZING job making sure my nails were straight.
