I returned a pair of shoes I bought on line today because they had a two toned upper, part of which was chocolate brown, which contrasted significantly from the rest of the light brown remainder of the shoe and not at all like the images online. Instead of acknowledging that the photo isn't anything close to what I was sent, one of the staff (who seemed to be in charge) gave me some b.s. that the picture was accurate but that on some shoes the leather takes the dye differently. She took no responsibility for the discrepancy. Fact is I had previously purchased the same shoe from Macy's and had the same issue with the two toned upper. Before I returned the shoes to Macys, I had called Clark's customer service to see why the Clark's shoes I bought from Macy's had this issue. I was assured that this was a Macys problem and that if I ordered them from Clark's directly, they would look just like the picture. I have been buying Clark's shoes for 40 years....I like their shoes....but the people I dealt with on this transaction were incredibly lame, both I the customer service ice department and in the Pleasanton Store. they are doing read more

What a great store. The selection of shoes was fabulous. The two staff members that worked with me were attentive and very helpful. I look forward to going there again. read more

My husband and I popped into Clark's 2 nights ago after I saw an email offering 25% off a few pairs of shoes I thought could replace my current work shoes. I had originally bought a pair of Clark's work shoes at Nordstrom Rack a few years ago and loved them. They were so comfortable, and lasted a long time. When they finally wore out my husband took me to Clark's store to replace them. They still had the same shoe I had loved so much/ and they were on sale, so we bought 4 pair. I was telling my colleagues based on how long the first pair lasted- these next 4 pairs would get me to retirement. If only that had been true.... but alas, it was not the case. The first pair was definitely a better quality. The next 4 pair did not last very long- and I worked my way thru the 4 pairs quickly. Finally time to replace them- I'm glad we went into the store instead of ordering online- I had 3 I had been interested in based on what I saw online. After trying the shoes on in the store/ I bought this pair. I went to work yesterday- I spent over 12 hours in these shoes. After the first 4 my feet were starting to hurt. So this made for an extra long day. I have a sweet potato in each shoe, hoping they will stretch out a bit in the toe area. Too much pressure on my foot pad- not enough cushion I have another extremely long work day tomorrow- hoping these shoes will be more comfortable than yesterday. These Clark's don't seem to have the cushion/padding the shoes had in the past. Also- when I bought the last 4 pairs, we were given a punch card. We were told they aren't doing that program anymore. I understand changing the program, it's a different one via your email now instead of having to carry a punch card, but it would have been nice to have gotten some credit towards the new program based on our past purchases. read more

The store itself is fine. The employees are nice. I like the shoes. The website is fraudulent. It's a lot of bait and switch. The software team has run amok with advertising sales and denying purchases. I only go to the website because the selection at the store is very limited.Good luck and everything that rhymes with luck. read more

I cannot get anyone to answer the phone on the customer care number. I'm not having any luck on getting my money back on a return. I have waited on hold for 30+ minutes twice. Ridiculous! I will never shop with this company again!!! read more

We had the best experience with Elena (sorry if misspelled)! As soon as we walked in I could tell she was going to be great. She was helping another guest and was clearly very personable and friendly. She asked us questions but was not at all pushy. In addition to being very knowledgeable she was really quick. We both really appreciated her lovely attitude and personality. You don't experience service like this everyday. She is very special. I'm not sure if the one star review from January 2022 is in reference to Elena, but if so I would completely disagree. It seems blatantly race related and spiteful. I'm a white person and I did not have the same experience as Lynn K. It should also be noted that plenty of different races live in Walnut Creek and it's nice to see that level of diversity. read more

This location is by far of one my favorite locations to come to. The staff here are always super nice and helpful and always make sure you leave a happy customer. Yes the store is on the smaller size and yes the price range is on the higher side but what you get what you pay for and the quality of these shoes are great and the shoes will last a long time and not to mention they are comfortable. They have all kinds of shoes for any type of occasion. They also have other things such as socks and belts. Know that if they don't have what you are looking for in store the store associates can always order online and they don't charge you shipping. Definitely check this place out if you haven't already! read more

Mall walking is a great way to exercise when it is cold. The disadvantage is stopping to see all the merchandise in the windows. Recently, sparkly shoes have caught my eye. The tall, pencil thin heels and platforms would make me well over 6-ft tall. I needed a pair of shoes. I'm not sure how these would fit into my current lifestyle if I was even able to stand and walk in them. Then I notice Clark's, a store filled with more sensible shoes that anyone could wear and walk in. They have a wide selection of shoes, boots, and sandals. They also carry purses, socks and wallets. There were even shoes in my size. The store was busy and the practical shoes buyers were not just old folks. It seems that some Yelpers have been unhappy with the service. I thought it fine. I picked out one shoe to try on. The clerk measured by feet, brought the pair that had caught my eye, and several others too try on. His choices were better than mine. They offer a frequent buyer card. It might fill up faster than I thought it would when they gave it to me. Their brands are very comfortable. I'm not sure if the prices are reasonable or not because I don't buy a lot of shoes. read more

I know, I know...geriatric all the way...well don't knock it if you haven't tried it lately. My GF turned me on to them today...and my feet are happy!! Comfortable shoes that have a heel..or wedge....I am a convert!! Also, pricing is good....most shoes are well under $100 bucks! Get the frequent buyer card...and get discounts in the mail...yay!! read more

I've probably walked by this Clarks a zillion times since moving to Walnut Creek but never ventured in until last weekend. Clarks is kind of becoming a thing with me, because if you really take a close look, they do have some stylish flats, sandals and boots that aren't your grandmother's Clarks. Last weekend I went in for a pair of sandals and didn't once get noticed amongst the bustle of all the workers fawning over the Walnut Creek housewives society that were trying on and buying 4-5 pairs at a clip. I ended up trying on the floor sample because it was my size and finally got the attention of one of the staff who brought me the other shoe. I thought it was cool that they have a frequent buyer card that you can earn points on and the prices were better than the Clarks selection at the nearby Macy's. With all that being said, I was like "okay cool, I can come back again next week after pay day and stock up on a few other pairs I was eyeing." This past Saturday they were still having an additional 20% off all shoes so I ventured back and walked around with a few pairs I had wanted to try on. Not one person made eye contact or asked to help me. Meanwhile, there was a gaggle of rich looking older ladies that were getting waited on hand and, er foot, so to speak. Finally, as one worker was speeding past me, I grabbed her attention real quick and tried to ask her a question about the stock of a particular style in other colors-she rolled her eyes and interupted me before I could even finish asking my question. I really don't care if the shoes were a penny, from now on, I will just shop for Clarks online or see if I can find what I want at Macy's-they were just rude and elitist here. I mean it's not like the Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus shoe department-get over yourselves.... That's my opinion and I'm standing by it... The Yelp 100 Challenge.... read more

Popped in to check out some new shoes this past weekend and really fell in love with the selection. I got an amazingly comfortable pair of Chelsea boots and my wife found some plimsoll shoes to die for. Purchased two pairs of shoes on May 27th. One had to be on ordered as they didn't have my size. It showed on my receipt that one pair was being sent. I called on June 6th to confirm if my shoes were on its way. The reason for the 3 stars is that nothing was communicated to me as to the delivery date. The person I spoke to said it would be deliver by UPS on the 7th of June. I love the shoes I purchased. I do tons of walking and they are fashionable for walking shoes. read more

Yeah okay I'll admit it, sensible shoes....Comfort over beauty. NO! I walked by the window (or hobbled more like it, after getting a cortisone shot the day before in my heel for plantar fasciitis). I have like a bazillion shoes in my closet, some expensive and some not so much. But most so wrong and torturous for my feet the podiatrist would probably throw them all in the trash, except the good NB I purchased after my stress fx a couple of years ago. So with all that being said, as I was really heading back to the car, I happened to scan the window and see a fairly cute pair of ankle boots. Not to high but definitely stylish, and Clark's eh....padded foot bed comfy? Couldn't find that particular boot on the shelf in leather only suede, but was willing to try it on anyway (though it was in leather in the window) The gal "Jennifer" comes back with my size and says " well we must have one pair of leather left in your size, the window pair"! Wow they are meant to be, right?! Really cute and fairly comfy, but I do tell her my foot dilemma and I had also picked up another "back up" style of boot. She says "well honestly the leather ones are very cute and if you buy them you get 25% off the second pair, but those other boots you picked will be much better for your feet and way more comfortable. Try them you'll see" and then said she'd be back in a minute. Dang it she was right, those second boots were so so comfortable! WoW! But I loved those first ones they were really cute, but I also really needed some dressy shoes that were wearable for a function at the end of the month, and she had gone back to find the other Maryjane I had picked up (mind you these were all on sale). She brings the Maryjane back and it's really comfortable too, and with a dress I could actually stand for a few hours instead of 5 minutes and be in agony! I'm frightened now, with the big 5 0 birthday looming have I just crossed the threshold of a sensible shoe....Gasp Old Lady? No, there were young hipster mom's shopping in this store too, while I shopped....whew. Okay maybe I'm learning a secret that I should have learned awhile ago to save my feet for during the day say at work or heavy walking in the city or on our NYC trips, that all these trendy young hip mom's seem to know. So I did it. I purchased all three pairs, ugh. And "Jennifer" never pushed me. She showed me the price differences with taking out different shoes and really because of that one pair that gave the extra 25% off, it really wasn't that much more for three pairs of great shoes. And I need to start treating me feet right, so the Dr. says. Plus Jennifer said if I decide I have "buyers remorse" I could return any of them. Double "whew"...... read more

I purchased the shoes on 11/19/2016 at this store because the store doesn't have my size, the associate ordered them for me online, and has them ship to the store, so the store can stretch them. I was told including shipping and the stretching, my shoe should be ready in 7-10 business day, and they would call me to pick them up. 2 weeks later, I didn't received any call from the store, but I thought maybe it was because of thanksgiving holiday, so there maybe a delay. I called to check on my order on 12/10/2016, and found out the reason I didn't get my shoes yet was because the associate input the wrong address, (HOW CAN YOU INPUT THE WRONG ADDRESS OF YOUR OWN STORE!?) The person who helped me on the phone fixed the issue, and told me it would be ready by no later than Tuesday, 12/13/2016, and again, he said he would call me when the shoes were ready. A week goes by, nobody called me back, so I called again on 12/18/2016. This time, they told me my shoes were there, but they don't have my contact number to reach me. Are you kidding me?! If I hadn't call, what are they going to do, just let my shoes sit there? Don't they have a record of my order to track down my number?! It took my a whole month to get my shoe! Everyone was really helpful when I was browsing and making the purchase. But after the sale, nobody care! I clearly remember they took down my number because they were going to call me, so I don't know how they can lose my number. It seems to me the associate only care about making the sales, and make a bunch of empty promises. It shouldn't take me a WHOLE MONTH AND 2 PHONE CALLS to track down my order! This has been a terrible experience, and don't want to come back anytime soon. read more

I have bought shoes at this store before and I was very happy with my purchase. I recently bought three pairs of shoes online. They did not fit well. I brought the shoes to the Walnut Creek store to return them. The purchase amounts were refunded to me, but the taxes were not. When I realized this two days later, I called the store. The manager was very rude and was yelling at me over the phone. I couldn't believe it! He said the return was processed and the money has been refunded and there was nothing more he could do. (It was basically my fault for not noticing that taxes were not refunded to me.) Unbelievable! All Other Stores/Businesses Know to Refund Taxes! I called the website's customer service and was told the tax refund would be processed in two days. Customer service could track the processed return using the order number. They asked me how much was refunded on my receipt. I gave them the amount. The difference is the amount of taxes paid. This store obviously doesn't want to be bothered with having to answer phone calls regarding the returns from online purchases. I won't be going there to shop ever again because of the manager's unprofessional attitude! read more

Shoes - Clarks are pretty sweet. Service - egregious, laced with passive aggressiveness. It's notably bad. Someone described their staff as dismissive in a yelp tip. So it's not just me, phew! Granted, the store was busy (it was a Sunday) but busy or not, I think it's important to do the core function of your job well - which in any retail is sell and provide customer service. I reduced my purchase to one pair I really liked because I'd rather find it at another store or order the rest online. Why? Shopping is an experience. When you ask a question, the staff should try to answer it, instead of brush you off or make you wait then forget about you. Value the customer's time, learn to better multi-task and render a simple level of respect without silently kvetching with your stare. The associate assisting me claimed it was her first day and therefore, most of anything I asked her, she had to ask someone else. Least she was somewhat cheerful though not very knowledgeable. On top of that, the manager herself was assisting me with a simple task for which she made me wait 20 minutes. If she didn't have time or didn't want to do it, she should have been more informative and send me on my way instead of leading me to think she'd be helpful. I stood there watching her go to and from other customers after I completed my purchase and waited for her assistance. And this was after a plethora of waiting during the shopping and purchase transaction itself. Concluding, selection is wide but this store needs more people and some basic training. They had 3-4 people staffed there on a Sunday and was very obviously overwhelmed. More than that, the manager was curt about it which makes zero sense. read more

They didn't have my size in store so I had ordered it online for me and told me it would take 7-10 business days. The lady (Renae) who helped me in store was friendly and the cashier (Leonard) as well. I'm giving this place one star because 11 days later we called the store regarding the status of the shipment and the said it wasn't shipped since they didn't have it in stock. That's extremely poor customer service, don't tell me the order went through initially, that tells me the item is in stock, then no one called to even let me know it wasn't. Horrible. Don't purchase a shoe online with this store, your better off going to the website yourself and doing it. read more

Clarks are comfy and cute, but this location closed in February due to the Broadway Plaza renovations and will re-open in 2016!

I went in to buy two or three pairs of shoes yesterday. There were three other customers in the store. Two were being helped by two sales persons. A third sales person was present but did not help me or the other customer who was waiting to be helped. It took more than five minutes to be acknowledged. The person who waited on me brought me a pair of shoes in tan even though I wanted them in black and said I could try them on for size and he would order the shoes in black. Then he disappeared. After about five minutes I left. This sucks. I like Clark's shoes a lot. They are comfortable. read more

Very rude person working there. My girlfriend is looking for shoes for an upcoming trip to Lake Tahoe and stopped in there. She picked a shoe and asked for her size, the lady went into the back to get the shoe to try on. My GF said it was to tight on one side so she asked if there was a half size larger. The Shoe lady only replied with "No" as if we (the only people in the store) were bothering her. My GF then asked if the shoes come in half sizes or just whole numbers. The Shoe lady replied with "there are no half size" my GF turned toward me to exit the store and the shoe lady was shaking her head. I am blown away by the terrible customer service, not just at this store but across the Nation. People's attitudes have changed drastically, I don't know if it's all the tragedy we have suffered or if it's a racial preference or what but that lady seemed like she didn't want to be helping us try on the products she is supposed to be selling. read more
