This is your typical run of the mill diner. Probably only diner you are going to find in the area. I was craving some breakfast for dinner and they certainly delivered, albeit the waiter didn't write down any orders for a table of 8. I ordered waffles with strawberries and pancakes and only got the waffles. The waffles were delicious. I usually don't go for whipped cream, but they were excellent paired with the strawberries. When I let the waiter know he forgot the pancakes, he was very apologetic, which was very nice. Otherwise I had a good time. I've been going to this place for many years and I think the waitstaff and food is excellent. The reason for my 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is due to the high price and slight stinginess of the owners. I think 2 breakfast orders, no coffee or oj, for $16 is a lot , for a diner, even a nice one. They give refills for coffee though which is great, especially since the cups are standard tiny diner cups from the 50's. No refills for to go cups which I think is stingy. I was waiting for a to go order and started drinking my small coffee while I waited. I paid, tipped a normal amount you would tip while having table service and asked them to just refil it a bit to the top. The owner, the wife, said no. So that's kind of petty. Still will continue to go there because it has great food and waitstaff, but also because it's the closest to me. read more

For there delivery service. The girl who answers the phone will not give you a total. Instead she says she will call you back and give it to you. Which she never does. I've been going to Clark's for 14 years and it's still the best diner in Brooklyn Heights. The place isn't very big so if you want breakfast on Saturday and Sunday - expect a wait and to be seated real close to the next party. But the food is fresh and the service is fast and courteous. Dining in at Clark's was an absolute dream! We were greeted by Miguel who took my husband and I's order. He was so kind and friendly. It was pretty cold outside so we both ordered hot chocolate, which was delicious! I ordered a Big Breakfast and my husband ordered two egg sandwiches. The food was delicious and the service was out of this world. My husband and I have dined out to many restaurants but this was the best service we've ever experienced. This was the most terrible service I ever had. Waiter was so rude and unprofessional. The place wasn't busy, but we need to wait and ask 10 times waiter to serve us. Waiter didn't know what drink they have. Waiter acting like we came to his house without invention. No one came to clean the tables. My friend went to bar to take napkins. While we have dinner he didn't came for asking at least: If everything ok?. BUT when we asked for check came to us 5 times and TOLD US THAT WE HAVE TO GAVE HIM 20 %TIPS!!!!! Well, not deserve it. Clark's is one of my favorite places to get breakfast. They make a great eggs benedict and french toast. The only problem if you order bacon unless you tell them not to they will over cook the bacon but I usually get the sausage which is also really good. The service at Clark's is fantastic. Our server was incredibly attentive, nice, and hilarious (he brought us small glasses of fresh orange juice and smiled at us and said, "...not Tequila"). I had a fantastic breakfast here. I got the Belgian waffle with bananas and chocolate chips. The waffle was perfectly fluffy and crisp on the outside. The bananas were nice and sweet. Went for the first time yesterday with my mom and boyfriend. Had high hopes based on the reviews but was seriously disappointed. I ordered the avocado Benedict, boyfriend ordered the omelette & waffle, mom ordered the open faced pastrami sandwich. The pastrami tasted like fake pastrami and disgusting. The only thing good was the waffle. Even the waitress noticed my mom's pastrami wasn't eaten and after she told her it wasn't good, we still had to pay for it. Will not go back. read more

Warren's brother lives just across the street from the diner and he considered this his haunt. I am always hearing rave reviews from him, so when we were over in the Heights the other night trying to decide where to eat for dinner, Andrew suggested Clarks. I could not have been any more pleased with the suggestion. While Andrew said Clarks is really happening on the weekends for brunch, I thought the laid back, quiet atmosphere of Clarks on a Saturday night was welcoming (seeing as I had to work that day and was completely exhausted from the other night out on the town....). The diner is small and the large windows are great to people watch. While I would have had a more attentive and happy server, he remembered Andrew by name and opined if he was going to get the same thing as usual - a nice touch. I am a total tuna slut, and the triple decker tuna sandwich with frenched fries was what I was craving. The tuna was good - I think I tasted a hint of dill in the tuna with mustard seed - and while the sandwich was a little too high to eat in one bite, I always pick my sandwiches apart and eat them in sections, so it really did not bother me. The frenched fires were light, airy, and not too greasy. I would suggest not getting a side salad - just looking at Warren's made me feel sad for the poor, wilted lettuce, and the uninspired arrandgement of veggies. The vegetable soup on the other hand was good - just your normal, diner fare. The prices are cheap and the food was good - will definetely have to come back from brunch before Andrew leaves the Heights for bigger and better things. read more

A friend took me here for brunch, the negatives are NOT the restaurant or it's staff, it's the fact it is across the street from a college dorm and the place is full of nasty spoiled kids. So my food was good, but I was surrounded by loud annoying kids yelling at eachother and one even threw something that hit me and never said a word (like SORRY!).... The food is solid, if slightly more expensive than a typical diner. Freshly squeezed oj is a plus. Very small coffee cups, though, which would be fine if the servers were on top of refilling them... Sadly, I had an empty cup quite frequently. read more
