Had these amazing doughnuts again and still feel the exact same way as I did before. They are AMAZING!! Now I've tried all the flavors that they had at the truck. They didn't have a mango that I saw I talked about in my last review so not sure if they have that flavor anymore or not. If they do I would love to try it. We got 6 of them so 2 Custard, 2 Raspberry, 1 Chocolate, 1 Coconut. My favorite by far is the Custard! It's seriously amazing. Then I'd say Chocolate is a second. Coconut third, I love coconut a lot but I wish there was more of a coconut flavor to it, it's a little mild. Then raspberry last. Of course they were all good but raspberry is more of a jam and I love more of that creamy filling. It's good just I have preferences. They were very quick this time too which I loved. My first visit we waited a while this one they were out in minutes. So warm and so good! Gotta try these if you haven't. These are some tasty donuts. The base donut is a light sugar covered donut. You can order them just like that or you can get them filled. The plain was a solid B. The texture and light and fluffiness is fantastic. The chocolate was a C. It was ok, but the chocolate flavor reminded me of hersheys ice cream syrup. I would have preferred a richer flavor. The guava was a B. Pretty good, but the flavor seemed to subtle. Next time we will get the others and see how they go. Worth a visit. read more

If you haven't tried Clark's Island Doughnuts, you need to. TODAY. I have been following the Clarks since they started, and the malasadas keep getting better and better. With lots of different fillings (coconut, custard, etc), there is plenty of variety here. These malasadas are honestly my favorite dessert. Always fresh and covered in sugar, biting into one of these is like biting into a sugary piece of heaven. Everyone working in the truck is awesome. Right now, it is located right next to Sodalicious on center street in orem. These pair very well with a mountain dew with peach puree :) If I were you, I would just get one of each kind they offer that day and eat them all. I can seriously put down 4 of 5 of these no problem and not even regret it. Plenty of flavor, perfect size, and perfectly priced. I used to go to baskin robins or Krispy Kreme for a late night desert, but this is my new spot. So happy I found this place! We went to the food truck league at daybreak just to try their malasadas. We're from Hawaii, so we have super high expectations for malasadas. Thankful, they reminded me so much of home! Malasadas can be really dense sometimes and these ones were light and fluffy. They also had a crispy outside which was nice. When they said there was a 40 minute wait for doughnuts, I tried to leave in a huff, but my huff tank was already full, and really I needed doughnuts. There was a long line of people waiting, and that hinted at a certain gastronomical legerdemain that I desired. We ordered and ambled to a nearby park for a few. We got back 38 minutes later, and doughnuts arrived 2 minutes after that. There was one of each type: plain, custard, coconut custard, and chocolate custard. They were light, lovely, and all had a hint of crunch on the outside. All came with cinnamon sugar on the outside. Best consumed warm. Coconut cream was my favorite. The chocolate one was a little like a tootsie roll inside, and there's nothing wrong with that. I loved this dounut. Super fresh and warm, made on the spot! I got the coconut cream filled. The owner came and chatted with us, he's so friendly. He even took our photo while we were enjoying our dounuts. I highly recommend grabbing a donut from here, the best dounut in town! You can't beat a yummy treat for $1.50. Well worth it. I've been following this truck like crazy! I was super excited to see them in West Valley. I'll keep this short and simple: Pros: made to order, pillowy texture, overall good malasadas. Cons: SUPER LONG WAIT. I mean like 40-50 mins for a dozen. There wasn't a line or it wasn't busy. I almost gave up and requested for a refund, but I waited. I didn't like the chocolate filling was really sweet. Too sweet for my taste. Custard is ok. I would get just the original with cinnamon sugar. Production in the kitchen needs to figure out a better way to speed up the process-- or you'll lose customers. Time is money. Star deduction for long wait times and not getting the donuts out quickly enough and I have an overly sweeten custard filled malasada. Would I go back again? Meh... Probably not. Would I recommend? Yes, at least once. I have had Leonard's (in Oahu) and Zippy's (in Maui), comparable? It's close. read more

Perhaps getting one at a Food Truck Round Up would be a 5 star experience but I give a 1 star for catering. I hired Clark's Island Donuts to cater our tech company's department social. I paid in advanced, with a 20% tip. I confirmed 2 weeks in advance, 1 week in advance, the week of, the day of (3 hours before start time) and then 10 minutes before delivery, I was given a call that the dough didn't turn out and I had two options: refund or change the date. 10 minutes before confirmed scheduled delivery time. When I asked if there was anything they could do, the gal said she would try. Then never called back, wouldn't answer calls and would only text. I had to rush to a local donut shop to desperately help. The real kicker is that I had the theme of our social around the 'Hawaiian donut' with all decor, signage, real and fake Leis purchased. ($1000 spent) I had to spend the last hour leading up to event desperately finding another 'donut' or treat option. So we had to cancel the game... which made the real Lei's ($450 worth) useless. It was a nightmare. All worked out but I would never recommend them as a caterer. I realize life happens but they didn't even try to help me solve it AND were able to cater their bigger event, 3 hours later (as seen on social media). So incredibly disappointed. read more
