I was in the neighborhood so I decided to try Bismark Doughnuts. I tried the beignets and the blueberry fritter. The donuts were phenomenal and I'm not a huge donut person. The blueberry fritter is a must try for sure! I wish you could see what the donuts look like in a case or see them prepare your order that would take this shop over the top. The shop is in a small strip mall of university parkway in Orem and is easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. The shop is clean and inviting with a few tables to sit and enjoy your treats. I've been a few times and the first time they were amazing. Sadly, this last visit, their donut was still raw in the middle. I love a good crunchy old fashioned donut and was disappointed when it was still raw in the middle. Everything on the menu is gluten free. And they don't offer coffee. It is located in the heart of Utah county, but would have appreciated a simple black coffee to go with my donut. The chocolate donut was edible, not memorable, but a level up for gluten free. This is truly an amazing donut shop! I love how it is decorated. It's clean and the employees are super kind. You can tell they truly care about the product as well as being effective. We came for their grand opening. Everyone got a free donut of their choice. My husband got the sweet and salty and I got the double chocolate. Donuts are not your average donuts you would get at a traditional donut shop - they have specialty flavors and sometimes can vary every week. I finally got the chance to try them again, and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. $21 for six dry mediocre doughnuts. The old fashioned tasted burnt. The vanilla ring was dry and had some-what of an "off" taste, but that could just be me. The blueberry was the only one that wasn't dry, but it didn't have a lot of flavor. All of them had very dry and crumbly frosting, which you somewhat expect from a doughnut but these seemed multiple days old. The strudel was good on the cinnamon one. Maybe it was just because it was later in the day, but I have no desire to try them again. Especially for the price.
