Finally got around to trying this place! I ordered the Founder's Favorite 6-pack box and out of all of them, the cookie butter (pretty sure it was Biscoff) was my favorite. The drizzles were good and the employee was nice. Overall, though, I'm not sure this is a spot I'd frequent, it didn't exactly blow my socks off. 3.5 out of 5 stars read more

We tried the Ono's in AF a few months ago, as we went for dinner with friends before going to the Haunted Forest. It wasn't too busy when we went, and the staff was helpful. The food was good! I got a Teriyaki burger? I think. My friends and I split a few malasadas. They were yummy. I'll definitely have to try more again at a later time. read more

This was advertised as a malasada location when really it should be a donut location. As someone who has actually lived in Hawaii and have eaten at Leonard's Bakery and Champions, I can honestly say this was a stuffed donut not a malasada. As a donut establishment it was fine 3.5 stars. As a malasada place, this was a 1. It was a waste of my time and I absolutely regret going and spending money there. From texture (outside and inside) to flavor... anyone from Hawaii should pass and move on. read more

Would be better if the donut was warm. I expect that since I'm used to going to places like that in Hawaii. I think they make a lot and leave it out. Not bad for a Hawaiian donut in Utah though. read more

Ono’s Malasadas - Original and filling - Donuts Near Me - Provo, Utah

Was in town for a family wedding and my nephew mentioned this "donut" style place with an unusual name for the donuts, when I heard unusual name I quickly responded Malasadas and he said that was it. Now I know of only one amazing family run Malasadas place and that is Manuela's Malasadas on the Big Island of Hawaii and nothing comes close in all of my dining experiences. After chatting with someone behind the counter she mentioned Manuela's as well and how she traveled to their location to learn how they made them. Not sure if the story was true or not but they were pretty good. For making Malasadas on the mainland I would recommend them. Great place, the help was smiling and helpful and they are made to order. Ono's you have my vote for a mainland location but my heart does belong to Manuela's in Hawaii. But if you are in Provo UT and can't get on a plane to Hawaii and you want to try a traditional sweet Hawaiian treat then Ono's is the place to go. Ciao read more

What a cute corner spot in happy valley. We went right when they opened on a Saturday morning. Drove from Salt Lake and were not disappointed. The young man at the cashier was helpful and answered all my questions. The malasadas I chose were lemon, chocolate mousse, haupia (coconut cream), and Bavarian cream. All delicious! These are best fresh and hot, but fare well the day after also. Definitely will be back if in the area to try other flavors. read more

Cute little donut shop. We love Malasadas, making them or Leonard's. We got a Nutella filled one for free with a caramel drizzle. It was fantastic, sweet and rich. We also got the kalua pork and bbq pork sandwiches. Those could use some improvement as they taste like sloppy joes and were just a bit too wet/saucy where kalua pork and bbq pork tends to be drier and have the option to add sauce. I wish it could've been better. It the meat needs some improving. The service and environment are fantastic though. read more

This cute little shop is definitely doing their malasadas right! Bringing the wonderful treat to the state of Utah. I would say these are one of the more authentic Portuguese style of malasadas you can get here. Very night and fluffy but also not too sweet. Will for sure go back to explore more of the menu because those sandwiches looked amazing. The service was great but was a little bit of a wait for the malasadas to come out which is perfect cause they were pretty fresh. I am glad they have a wide variety of the menu for everyone. Also the flavor of the month was the best out of all that I had. read more

Malasadas done right! We started with a breakfast sandwich (egg, sausage, and cheese). It was incredibly tasty. The malasada pastry had a delicious crunch that perfectly complemented the creaminess coming from the egg, melted cheese, and sausage. We then got three of the traditional malasadas: white, lemon-filled, and pistachio-filled, which was the flavor of the month. The dough is fried to a fluffy perfection so the plain white is already outstanding. But then the lemon and pistachio ones were another level. We enjoyed the pistachio more than the lemon, but we're a little bias toward pistachio. We live in Tooele county, but we will definitely look for opportunities to come back to this place! read more

My initial thoughts on this restaurant were pleasant. I love the whole set up and unique building this restaurant is in! You definitely will recognize it when you see it! Also I love the link boxes it definitely reminded me of Leonard's Malasadas! The menu was very inviting and easy to understand, with a good amount of options. I chose a single malasada with sugar, Nutella and strawberry sauce, I was very pleased to see the different options in flavor additions! We also got the kalua pork sandwich and it was great as well the pork was very tender and juicy and the flavor was there! The service here was great, everyone was very nice, helpful, and brought good vibes to the place! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a taste for hawaiian food, bbq, or anything sweet! read more

First off the location is so cute. It's right off this less busy road right up against the mountains. The island music puts me almost back on the islands. The service is super nice and good with their recs. Now the food. I didn't know what I was missing by not having a spam egg and cheese sandwich on an unsugared malasada. Literally mouthwatering in EVERY bite. I want one every day. read more

3.5 stars. Malasadas are, indeed, "ono". Facility has a cool, old school street corner vibe with reggae music playing. Service was a little off... ordered a sandwich & got wrong order. Went back and they repeated mistake. read more

The best malasadas around. This place is tucked in a more hidden part of Provo, but the drive there is worth it. The walk-up ordering feels retro in the best way and the workers there are so nice. Service is also really fast, which is great when you're in a rush. The menu is a lot more varied than you'd think--it's not just sweet options. They also have a breakfast sandwiches that have egg, cheese, and your choice of bacon, sausage, or spam (which is a fun one to try, especially since I'm a big fan of it). While the dough is slightly sweet, there's no sugar or anything on it, so it's a nice, balanced combo. I'm not big on sweets usually, but I'm a sucker for the lemon flavor or coconut cream. Especially with a passion fruit or mango drizzle--so so good. Definitely don't miss this spot. read more

Diabetes in every bite lol ask me why we didn't even care. We had the Nutella malasadas and they were delicious. Back home in Hawaii we are exposed to some of the best malasadas and this did not disappoint. Cute drive spot to check out. read more

Great place, we stopped by on a rainy morning because I was craving malasadas. These were tasty, warm and just what I wanted. My husband tried the flavor of the month, I had guava, and we split the mango. They are a bit messy, being that they are drizzled with syrup but still good. Counting down the days until I can get some more. It was my first time going and I'm sad I didn't go sooner. I love how you can create your own with different filling and sauces. I also love how they are warm and fresh! My favorite from what we got was the cookie butter with cinnamon sugar. I loved the ones with cinnamon sugar on the outside. We also got the seasonal eggnog and wasn't that impressed but can't wait to go back and try different ones. The location isn't that convenient but I will say it wasn't busy at all, so that was nice. The employees were really nice and helpful. There is also a great patio area to sit at when the weather is nice. read more

I and my wife visited Ono's Malasadas to use a couple of coupons. It seemed to enjoy a typical drive-in atmosphere and prompt friendly service. I ordered a sausage-and-egg breakfast sandwich, which was greasy and decent but not especially memorable, but perhaps I should have tried the popular spam-and-egg alternative instead. We also got a malasada, which my wife agrees was far better than any donut that we've ever eaten. I'd gladly return to Ono's for more malasadas anytime, even if for no other reason. Amazing!!! read more

Nothing like the malasadas from Leonord's Malasadas on Oahu. It was just fried dough that was super oily and greasy. Their spam, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich was really good but I do not recommend getting these while on the road because it will make you car sick from all the grease. Their fries were pretty good. Skip the Kalua Pork sandwich. And definitely SKIP their "sweet" malasadas!! Nothing special about them. Again, just really greasy, oily dough with sugar on top. Their service was great and their ambiance was super cool though. read more

Ono's is SO CHOICE. I adore their malasadas and was thrilled to hear they were offering sandwiches (breakfast all day) !! I tried the bacon/egg/cheese sandwich and requested extra "sauce" because YUM. The dough at Ono's is super dense and flavorful. I highly recommend a filled malasada (the haupia is my favorite!!) drizzled with passion fruit. Trust me. This is the perfect place to bring the family or a date - the vibe is so fun and inviting. read more

I think they're the best malasadas in Utah. We ordered all cinnamon sugar coated, with one plain, one chocolate-filled, and one lemon-filled. The lemon was tart and satisfying and the chocolate was quite runny but the flavor was delicious. Recommend. read more

Fantastic and kind of quirky but in a fun way. Never knew this place existed since moving here 6 yrs ago. Staff is helpful, food is good. Prices are alittle pricey but this is Utah and I find alot of places are more expensive than where I came from which is Arlington, TX home of the Texas Rangers, 6 Flags & other fun places to visit. Seriously, the place is an old drive in but kind of fun and quirky which I love. Great place for a date night. read more

The breakfast sandwiches here are to die for!! They use the donut bread for them and it is the best choice any restaurant has ever made. I could eat one a day and never get tired of them. On the other hand, that same donut bread is used for the sweet donuts, and it's, well, not very sweet. And while the density is perfect for a sandwich, it lacks the fluffy, airy, pull-apart aspect of donuts that I love. The coconut cream filling wasn't very flavorful, as well. So I think you can't find anywhere better for sandwiches, but for me, the donuts are just not worth it. read more

Place is great! My only gripe is some flavors (like ube) have a strong bitter taste like there's food coloring in it

I loved everything I got here! I got a breakfast sandwich and the filling of the month which was strawberry I think. They let us tried their burger and it was so good! They use donut bun which is sweet and sauce that has a little spice with salty patty, what a good combination! The only complaint, and the reason for a 4 star rating is the amount of filling for the price. I ordered a dozen Malasadas and paid for 8 of them to have filling in it. $0.75 for what is less than a tablespoon of filling to me is not right. Other than that service was good and ambiance is amazing. It gave me the island style vibes which I miss! read more
