I am told by the CREDIT REPORTING AGENCY she sent me to that everyone complains about her rudeness. She alone has the authority to remove paid accounts, which I disagreed I owed, but whatever. (When it comes to your credit, its a hostage negotiation!! ) She refuses to clear any issue no matter what, or how professional you are with her. POWER HUNGRY ANYONE!!!??? What a disorganized company! Had been a customer for years. Called them again. Took 5 days to get back to me. Guy shows up, does paperwork says he'll be back the next day to do the service. Doesn't show up for 4 days. I call again and am told that since in the past I've cancelled my service after my problem was solved, a supervisor was contacted and they didn't want to send anyone again! Outrageous! Long story short: Moved into a new flat and what do you know...flea infestation! Nice dude named Zack came out, assessed the situation and recommended a 3-treatment approach. He sprayed the yard and the unit, came back a week later and did the same. Fleas were definitely disappearing but he came back a third time to make sure we got them and what do you know? No more fleas. When dealing with pests, it comes down to results and Clark did what they said they would. read more

Please be careful when using Clark. It's a lifetime commitment and they won't always follow your instructions.  At first, it seemed great.  a knowledgeable and polite gentleman came out to help access my pest issues and came up with a plan of action. The person servicing my house came out and that's when things slowly fell apart.  He was crude, which was uncomfortable and unwanted around my toddler, and he was creepy.  My nanny asked to not be left alone with him.  He did eliminate the pest problems in the house but, it came at a price.  He would decide when he wanted to service the house and came over monthly.  Monthly visits were in the contract, but it was supposed to be at my discretion, not his.  If he called, he came over, regardless if the call was returned.  He tried to force his way into my house when the nanny was here alone with my son and became upset when he wasn't allowed in.  He also claimed to come over but people were home and he was never there.  I was charged just over $90 for each visit, regardless if he did anything or terrorize my nanny.  I called to dispute he did anything and was told they would credit my account but didn't.  I tried to end the service but they made that difficult too.  They even sent a final bill, with late fees, over the final visit that never occurred.  They claimed he sprayed the front of the house, despite me instructing them not to spray because of toddlers and dogs.  They did remove the pest, but traumatized my family and charged me to services they didn't complete.  Again, use at your own risk. read more

I tried to set up an appointment with Clark and their management and customer service was horrific. I set an appointment for 9-11 today and they called me 30 mins before the appointment and had to delay 4 hours and move it to 1-3. The woman on the phone was apologetic, but couldn't actually do anything to help me. Overall they are just not a well managed place. Went to their competitor, who got me a same day appointment, was able to give me a set price on the phone and could actually answer questions about having a rodent problem - Clark could do none of these things. read more

I received a free inspection yesterday by Robert Walian. I called at 8AM in the morning, and Robert arrived at 10AM the same day. He was on time, knowledgeable, and incredibly nice. I was expecting to find the worst in my tenant's room (beg bugs), but Robert assured me they were simply carpet beetles. He explained, in depth, the nature of the issue ( the difference between bed bugs and carpet beetles, what they were, how they multiplied, where they came from, and how to manage/eradicate the problem). Robert and I were BOTH relieved that they were not bed bugs. This was reassuring, as sometimes representatives from companies come in and make a problem sound much worse than it is to get your business. Thank you for your time. We had them on monthly contract to take care of any issues on our property, and during the time they were being paid, we have had several major rat infestations, a major ant invasion. They even came and sprayed areas out of the originally request, as they could not access the problem area. Do not work with this company! I was home from work one day unexpectedly when the technician (Jerry) arrived to perform my monthly pest control service. To my surprise, Jerry got out of his truck only to hang the "Service Completion" notice on my door. He got back in his truck and drove away without performing any treatment at all! This must have been going on for a few months, because I made several complaints during that time about bugs that never seemed to go away. They put another technician on my account. And guess what......my bugs went away. So, it was clear to me that I was paying over $100 per month for nothing! A few weeks later, I saw Jerry driving a Clark truck. They didn't fire him! Advised that I did not need continual maintenance as property looked good. 6 months later I call to request a spray because I saw spiders - was then advised that I did not uphold yearly contract. What a waste of time. I called for a tenant's mouse infestation, the receptionist was very polite and I got an appointment for an "estimate" that was one day out. No problem. The appointment time approached, and I got a call from Clark saying they'd need a credit card on file in order to come out. I asked why, this is just an estimate appointment, etc...having used this company before (or rather, having to foot the bill for other tenant's who'd signed contracts without my consent) I knew they would want to tie me into an annual "all-inclusive" abatement plan, which typically runs about $95/month. They'd take care of spiders, ants, etc...NO THANKS. I just need help with mice! More to the point, with other properties, their initial service (which from my recollection is one month) is actually quite thorough, and the problem seems to resolve within that first month, so why pay for a whole year? The man who called me for the credit card said this is the only way they do it, so there was no need for the technician to even come out if my choice was not the annual contract. I asked for other recommendations to companies who do this type of service..and will NOT be calling Clark, probably ever again. What a scam. read more

I bought my first home and had Clark come out and do the pest inspection. Turned out I had $10000 worth of dry rot. The sent a gentleman names Kevyn Ermitano to do the repairs. Kevyn was incredible! He was there when he said he would be, every day, he stayed well into the evening every day also. He was polite, courteous, and very helpful. He went far beyond his job in helping me clean out some old big rocks out of my atrium, where he had been working. I had a timeline to meet and he worked hard to get the permits and meet the deadline, which he did. A gentleman named Roland was our inspector, and he did a great job also. I am a professional property manager and I need to get things done right for my clients. Clark (Concord office) stands behind their work 100%. Everyone I came into contact with was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Robert Walin was particularly helpful and really went out of his way to make sure we had eliminated every last bedbug from three apartments. We went with the heat treatment for a HEAVY infestation of bedbugs and it worked just fine. Robert came back for free to check to make sure we had gotten all the bedbugs - and we did. We called Clark when we had an "ant emergency." Our kitchen was covered in ants one morning and they saved the day. The response was immediate and the treatment was very effective. Jeremy said they may return, which they did just once, and when they did, we called him directly and he took care of them again. He found the source and treated it and they have not returned. This was almost a year ago when we had just moved into our new residence. We are under contract with Clark for pest control treatment. If we are home, Jeremy knocks on the door, asks about any problems, and treats accordingly. If we are not home, he treats the perimeter of the home and leaves a slip in the door letting us know he has been here. Jeremy is very professional and takes his work seriously. We have been using Clark for years and have been very happy with the service. We have not had any major issues- for which I credit their preventative measures. We do occasionally get ants, esp when it gets really hot or first starts to rain. Because we are a business, we call at first sign and they always are prompt and effective in their response. Roderick (Erick) from Clark Pest Control came to our house on TWO separate occasions--free of charge--to inspect some bugs we found (carpet beetles, in the end) in our drafty Victorian flat. Each time he was completely accommodating, taking the time to answer all of our questions, to explain in detail what we should look for if we ever do have bed bugs, and easing our minds so that we can return to a state of normalcy again in our home. I strongly recommend Clark Pest Control for excellent customer service. We noticed an odor coming from our heating vents. Called a heating company who did a through inpection and cleaning, then informed us he could find no cause for the odor and charged us $300 for the cleaning and told us to call a pest control company. We called several who wanted between $350-500 just to come out and do the inspection, plus would require a service contract, except Clark. They stated no charge for the inspection and would give an estimate once they found the problem. The guy came out, was extremely professional and did an inspection. Found the problem, non pest related and told us how to fix it. NO CHARGE!!!! and did not try to sell us anything. We decided to use them for our future home pest maintanence.Great job!!!!! read more

After having a couple of sleepless nights and frantically trying to research information about bug species and treatment options, I made my decision to call CLARK PEST CONTROL located out of the Concord office, for assistance. I wanted to write about my positive experience with the East Bay California company so others could benefit and hopefully not suffer as I did. I was all over the internet looking up resources and trying to determine the best course of action to take along with the correct pest control company. Out of desperation, I even joined ANGIE's List to get additional information to assist me on my decision since my research advised that inexperienced company's can make a problem worse! My problem is that I fear bugs and I had observed a few bugs located in one of my bedrooms that I was unsure about. In sheer panic and desperation, I suspected the dreaded bed bug! Oh No! Recently, I had made a first time purchase of quality "used furniture" from Craig's List with regard to a very nice bedroom suit from a very prominent family in San Ramon. After my internet research, I did not realize that BB's could inhabit "wood" as I thought they were only found in fabrics such as mattresses, chairs and couches, etc. At this point, I just assumed that I MUST have been contaminated! Eeek, what now?! (I had researched that Clark offers both heat and fumigation treatments for bed bugs, which I really thought was going to be one of the options to eradicate this difficult pest!) As stated, I decided to call Clark Pest Control since several family members and friends had great success with them for other pest matters. Initially, I called and spoke with Richard, who listened to my situation and was very sympathetic after I told him that I felt I needed a tent fumigation! Lol! (I was desperate and feeling hopeless!) Richard tried to calm me and said he'd like to refer me to his BB Specialist, Robert Walian. He took down my name and number and advised that Robert was out on a call, but that he would contact me that day. Robert Wailan did get back to me, within a half hour, and listened to my concerns and offered to come over that same day! When Robert arrived at my home, he was very professional and thorough, he even put booties on his shoes before entering my home. Robert was extremely calming, accommodating and patient with me and thoroughly reviewed my bedroom, closets, hallway, living room and even my outer exterior, etc. He knew I was afraid of bugs so he pulled up all my mattresses and reviewed every inch of it with a flash light. Luckily, he found NO bed bugs, but just a few carpet beetles. He provided me with some suggestions to rid them and reassured me that he did not feel that I had a bed bug problem. He was at my home for quite a while and I offered to pay for his services and he said "NO CHARGE" as this was just a free consultation! (I felt like I should pay since he was so thorough and stayed when I knew he had other appointments and was just fitting me into the schedule.) He gave me his business card and said to call him back anytime if I saw anything further since he found no BB evidence at this time! What fantastic service and support! A nightmare. Charged over three thousand dollars for their annual contract plus cleanup and duct repair after a rat infestation. Took weeks to get the work done. Poor at returning calls. Claimed to be short staffed. Still needed a professional HVAC company to come in after them and finish the job right. A nightmare. read more

Called Clark regarding rodents in attic. Very early 20 something rep came to house, said he could seal the attic and definitely get rid of them. I told him I did not want a one year contract that he insisted on, (1st red flag) just month to month, and he said ok. Found out that he did indeed sign us up for a one year contract. Called the business office and tried to explain, but they would not close the contract and threatened collections. So we were forced to stick with it. What made matters worse is one year later the rep never solved rodent problem, and hundreds of dollars later, the problem still persists. $85 every other month to spray for just for ants, and only checked attic when we insisted. One time did not call and broke gate, let dog out of yard and of course did not check attic. I'd rather sip turpentine and piss on a brush fire before using this outfit ever again. read more

My wife and I were getting numerous extremely itchy and long lasting insect bites inside our house. We finally captured one of the culprits. It was TINY! It was only by viewing it through a jeweler's loupe that we could even tell it was an insect. We investigated on-line and decided we were in the early stages of a bed bug infestation. We called a couple exterminators and the first to arrive was Clark Pest Control. The gentleman portrayed himself as the go-to guy for bed bug eradication, practically an industry-wide expert. He looked at our insect, immediately identified it as a bed bug and quoted us $2800 to rid our house of them. But first we would have to empty our house of all our possessions. The second to arrive was California Exterminating Service, a locally owned independent. The owner took a quick glance at the insect and said "that's not a bed bug, it's a tropical rat mite." He suggested that if we wanted confirmation we should take it to the Contra Costa Agriculture Department. We did and they confirmed that it was a rat mite. So, for $425 California Exterminating Service rat-proofed and fumigated our house. End of problem. Way to go, CES! Regarding Clark, I don't know which is worse: the thought that we may have been lied to or that their "expert" couldn't tell the difference between a bed bug and a rat mite. You decide. read more

Called Clark for issue with moths in the home. Very nice gentleman from the Concord location came to our house in Hercules on a Saturday. We'd captured a couple of the little buggers and had them in a Ziplock bag. The Clark Rep couldn't identify the moth type and called a Supervisor who said to bring them in and they'd get back to us the following Monday. Monday came and went so we called. Were told they had to send the moths to Sacramento for identification. It's been 3 weeks and we still haven't heard from Clark Pest Control. We got tired of calling them so now we're contacting another company. I think part of the reason we haven't heard from Clark is because I wasn't interested in signing up for a contract for pest control, like ants, that we don't have! Don't waste your time with Clark Pest control unless you're ready to sign a long-term contract for service. If it's a one time deal, they're not interested! read more

This company is dishonest!!!i asked for a one time spray for ants the day after Thanksgiving. The lady said no problem they would come Friday. The guy came, walked through my home for 30 minutes and then proceeded to tell me if I wanted him to treat the ants I would have to sign up for a years service. I explained that the lady on the phone knew I only needed a one time spray and said that was fine. He then said he could call his Manager, Dwayne. He left then came back and said sorry, one year contract or we won't service you! I told him to take a hike! I then called Bug Zappers who I have used over the years in my last house. Although they couldn't come until Monday, they came did the one time treatment and were very professional. Too bad for Clark pest Control...we will be moving into our new home in one month in Rockridge and we will be using Bug Zappers.
