Not only did Kelly rent us two nice kayaks for half a day, but he trucked them up to Antelope Lake for us immediately.

We own the timeslot that is at the end of June and beginning of July over the Fourth of July. The weather is always 85 to 95° with warm waters and the lake is amazingly always very open. Meaning you can be on the lake July 3 or fourth and maybe see 10 other boats on a busy day. They also have a firework show that lights up the entire leg. It's put on by Sandpoint and it something we look forward to sharing with our family and friends every year. There are also some new people that come every year that you get to meet from all around the US and we have friends that we have seen there year after year and become close with every year for the last 20 years. This is also the fifth deepest lake in the United States with some parts over 1000 feet deep they used to do submarine testing and part of the northern mountains were a glacier tens of thousands of years ago. Same point is one of my favorite towns in the Pacific Northwest with great food, cold beer, and fun places to eat and explore around the city it's a perfect destination for a family to visit for a few days during the summer.

Wonderful views, great location, nice amenities. We didn't utilize a lot of the activities because we were out a lot enjoying the scenery, but there was a long list of activities for all ages.

It's fun to kayak in the lily pond on the property, where you get…read morea better view of the scenery since the tents are in the woods (and you might have a chance to see the local moose), and we had a short hike on logging roads past a slate quarry to a vista with lots of wildflowers. The main drawback at this time of year is the mosquitoes due to the standing water throughout the woods. They provide you with various repellents which helps, but I was still covered in mosquito bites when I left. The only noise besides the songbirds is a train which goes by occasionally. The accommodations are well supplied and well-kept, with a kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook. You can get some veggies from their garden for a dinner salad, including garlic spirals which are an interesting twist on chives. We cooked a simple meal over the open fire, which had a clever grill contraption to cook the food on. Water is pumped from a tank behind the kitchen. There is a clean and not smelly outhouse complete with hand sanitizer and old magazines. The breakfast was hearty - eggs (fresh from the chicken coop), bacon, pancakes, and of course homemade huckleberry jam. Even the apple juice they press and can themselves. The company was pleasant, with groups from two other tents. Since there were three of us, they sent up an extra tent for me next to my parents tent. In short, if you want the experience of camping near a farm, without the hassle of packing and pitching a tent, then this might be the place for you. I would give it 5 stars, except that I'm still scratching the mosquito bites.

This family really is welcoming and will gladly teach you about their garden, solar panels, and more. Also, they cook a mean breakfast (make sure to try their homemade apple cider). We saw moose and deer on the property and heard owls at night- very cool. Plus, Tim gave us great directions to explore the surrounding sights. You'll want to stay more than one night! This is an awesome spot for a couple's vacation or a family adventure.

Talus was eclectic, artistic and it felt like we were a guest in somebody's amazing house. It was a midweek stay. Maybe there was another couple there. We had the house to ourselves. That night we saw deer grazing out back and it snowed overnight. We woke up to a beautiful scene which included a few people ice skating on the frozen pond. We were in the Kipling suite which had a jet tub big enough for two people to swim is. It had a mini fridge, microwave, small coffee maker with coffee. A definite off the norm place to relax. On a side note, had an over the top dinner at 113 Main.

Hi Heather, Thank…read moreyou for taking the time to respond and engage with the feedback--it's clear you care deeply about the property. We hope that on a future visit, you might experience TRR from the perspective of a first-time guest--someone arriving with the hope of finding a peaceful retreat, but instead feeling somewhat like they've unexpectedly stepped into someone else's private space. While you see meaningful memories and personal touches, guests may interpret these items, photos, and instructions differently. The feeling of intrusion was heightened when the resident innkeeper prepared their own family's meal in the middle of the great room, making the shared space feel less like a guest retreat and more like someone else's home with lingering odors. There's so much to love about the property--the architecture and setting are truly stunning. With a bit of refreshing (particularly in terms of dusting all the bric-a-brac) and a shift in focus back toward creating a getaway experience, TRR could easily return to the high ratings it once enjoyed--as a place where guests can relax, reset, and grow.
