Out in the middle of the park, the Clam Shack is a free standing building (like a snack bar). The food here is worth the trip. Be warned that the seating is OUTDOORS ONLY. The servings are HUGE. A little gem in the middle of the Salem Willows... I first noticed Clam Shack last summer, as it had recently opened and was packed with customers around their outdoor seating. This was my first visit, and I ordered a basket of clam strips for $10.95. As mentioned by other reviewers, the freshness and quality of the clams and the batter was perfect. The seating area was also very clean, and on our way out, they asked us if everything was good. The people working here seem to really care! I was a little skeptical about the reviews b/c they appeared so fast but this place really impressed me. I got the pick two where you pick any two of their seafood dishes ($18.95). It comes with a butt load of thick fries. Everything tasted fresh. We also got the shrimp roll ($8.95). It was fresh and the roll was soft and buttery. It's just a small stand and they have several benches to the side. The stand is right by the water so you get enjoy the view. The overall area was very enjoyable. Since there is no traffic on the North Shore during this time, it is perfect to go travel to some good spots along 95 while it is empty. Was in the mood for some good seafood and came across this place on yelp with great reviews. Since no restaurants are open right now except for take out and delivery I thought this would be something different where we could get take out and sit outside with a water view! Called the order in and you can give them a time you would like your order to be ready by. It took 20 minutes for ASAP which was perfect. We were able to get our food freshly and went over to one of the Salem Willow Picnic Tables as the Clam Shack Benches are closed due to COVID. It was perfect. The clam strips had a great taste and crunch to them. The French fries were soft on the inside but had that nice crunch for the batter. The onion rings were delicious and yummy. Overall would go back here. It was a perfect date night to do something different during COVID and to be able to get outside and feel like we were going "out to dinner". read more

I grew up on the Northshore. I know good fried seafood- the fish and chips!!! It's a must. The batter is light and flavorful the fish is honestly amazing. Flaky and perfect haddock- the coleslaw was awesome which comes separately. and the tarter sauce was amazing too which makes all the difference The only thing I will say is I paid $2 for the slaw and it was a smaller Portion than I had hoped... the portion of the fish basket is fantastic for the price which is very reasonable. Lunch with a beautiful view! My boyfriend and I had to get some amazing New England sea food this afternoon before heading back to the west coast. Spotted this little gem while on one of those hop on hop off trolley tours. The tour guide told us it was a definite must try so we went for it. Spent the day exploring Salem Willows Park, and decided to try out Clam Shack. Don't be surprised if there's a long line as this place is pretty popular. We waited in line for 30 min. and ordered the Captain's Combo for $24. If you're like me and can't decide what to get, I would recommend the Captain's Combo cause it has a little bit of everything (shrimp, full clams, fries, onion rings, haddock, scallops) except for lobster. Everything tasted fresh! I wished they have a variety of sauces besides tarter sauce, considering the haddock tasted plain and needed flavor. One plate is good to share with 2 people as the portions are pretty big. Although I felt pretty gross after eating a lot of fried food, it was still worth it! read more

It's a little take out shack in Salem Willows and the food was quite tasty and plentiful. You can sit at a picnic table or bring your own chairs and sit close to the water. I even bring paper towels and a little thermal bag w waters. My focus is on the food. There is parking close by which is very convenient. It is not open all year but I believe it opens sometime in May around the 20th and closes September 26th. It's very peaceful and there is an arcade nearby and an ice cream shoppe. Just what I was hoping for, delicious seafood. My wife and I stopped in yesterday and I ordered the shrimp basket w/fries and my wife ordered the haddock roll w/fries and a small clam chowda. Both baskets came with a generous serving of seafood. I don't particularly like chowda but my wife said it was Delish. Just a couple warnings. Your are right on the water so it tends to gets very breezy so hang on to napkins, plastics forks etc. Also, I literally put my tray on the table and a seagull snatched a piece of haddock off my wife's plate. The staff was generous enough to replace her meal but damn they are quick so watch out for them. Overall, we had an excellent meal and have already made plans to return in a couple weeks. read more

And you know you got yourself a good lobster roll when you don't even need the mayo & butter - as was the case at Clam Shack! They also do not skimp on any of the ingredients - portions are generous! Lobster roll was pretty good and for a decent price $17 for an okay sized one. Thought it was kind of dumb that the "Gourmet" lobster roll had the only difference of having a buttered roll and was $1 more. The whole clams were pretty expensive for the size $20 for about 9 oz. our meal was about $40 for a roll that came with fries and some whole clams and filled us up so no complaints here. It's also near an arcade and some other boardwalk type things. Great view also read more
