CKK Computers was referred to me by two high ranking, important city of Glendale employees. I've known both employees a long-enough time to have great respect for their insights/judgments. Both are highly responsibly, well thought of people in the city of Glendale. So when they referred me to CKK Computers (not far from city headquarters) this was the first call I made. Got a chance to speak to Chris, who invited me down later that afternoon (yesterday). (I was told to call first because CKK does a lot of in house consultations. Which was/is true because Chris was in a consultation when I arrived. Then again in the aft when I returned at 3 pm. (to make a purchase of a Lenovo that Chris recommended.) They have tons of in-house product, i.e. laptops, desktops, refurbished, refreshed items that are top shelf. Certainly this Lenovo is, and I might well return to purchase a DELL "gaming" laptop that Chris highly recommended (for the graphics alone which Chris described). But for the holiday I just needed a cheap, functioning laptop to finish a writing project - and Chris gave me a great deal on this Lenovo. Avoid CKK! My installation of Firefox's quantum was faulty, and my attempt to retain a pre-quantum ESR version for reference was unsuccessful. After struggling along for a few weeks with the faulty Quatnum version, I was unable to load Firefox at all, receiving a strange Windows error message. That's when I went to CKK. Owner Chris (at about 10 am) did not quote me a price but very amenably told me that if I didn't hear from him by "2 or 3" I should call him. I did so, but he wasn't able to talk. He said he'd call me right back but never did. About 4:30 I called and reached his assistant, who told me to call back in 10 minutes. I did but reached only voice mail. When I showed up the next morning Chris told me my computer was fixed. Sure enough, I was able to load Firefox quantum--but without any of the settings I had laboriously created, including pinned tabs and extensions (and the extensions' settings)--all tabs and all extensions were gone! There was no pre-quantum Firefox installed. Rather than hassle, I paid the fee and left, to seek better help. read more

Don't get your phone screen fixed here. I went to get my iPhone 7 phone screen switched to a new one because it had a minor crack. My iPhone didn't have any other issues prior to the new phone screen they put on it. Some of the issues my iphone had after they "fixed" the screen were screen glitches where it would freeze + super slow, the home button wasn't working normally and would spazz out with my finger print. All these issues that I never used to have before they switched my screen. I made 3 trips in total for them to fix the issues that were caused by them and I'm still unsatisfied because my home button is still acting wacky because of their Mickey Mouse job. I won't be returning due to all the inconveniences of the trips I made and the issues they caused to my phone, that they weren't even able to fix. read more

My boyfriend use to live in Glendale on Wilson and thank god for that. One day my laptop was acting up and I remembered seeing this computer repair place on his street. I went in for the first time maybe 3 years ago and they did a free diagnose to see what was up with my laptop, sure enough I had a virus! They did a great job on backing up all my files,pictures and fixing the laptop. Recently I bought a new laptop and I needed some software's downloaded on it. I have a dell inspiron whose hard drive had failed. These gentlemen saved all of my movies, music and pictures. They also addressed another big problem. Last month (9/19/2017) I took my 4-year old Toshiba laptop (2013) to CKK as it just quit working, even if I tried to "revive" it on my own a few times. Chris' staff (Arten) diagnosed the problem that the old (500 MB) hard drive had crashed. It must be true, since that hard drive crashed before (in 2014) and was re-installed via Toshiba Tech Support. But this time, it looked like it was beyond repair, and had to be replaced. Arten took out the old hard drive, and replaced it with a new one (1 TB), and even installed Microsoft Office Pro 2010, and I had my laptop back with me the next day, and has been functioning quite well since then. Run, don't walk to this place! My Samsung would not take a charge so I did everything in my power, including driving all the way to Culver City for a new battery, $40, to try and fix it. I even took it to the "Geek Squad" who recommended I just get a new phone which I did (a cheap BLU $80 phone). Since my Samsung was just sitting there I decided to try a little mom and pop shop I kept passing near my work which seems to have been around a long time. This lovely young man named Chris introduced himself and said it was his shop. He immediately got my phone to charge and told me he would keep it to see if it would take a full charge. When I went back to retrieve my phone he would take absolutely nothing for his services. I took my laptop which would not connect and again he immediately determined that it was just in a deep sleep due to non-use. Again, no charge. How honest was this young man when so many others had taken the opportunity to rip me off! He fixes any type of phone, computer and TV. He also sells all types of electronic equipment and can even build a computer for you!
