I have been a client of CK in Grandview for some time. Although it is not the spotless, relaxing salon I would prefer, there were a couple of techs I really liked and felt it was a decent value for a no-appointment pedi or gelicure. After today, I will NOT patronize this business again. The salon was terribly hot, understaffed, and disorganized. I waited for nearly an hour, only to watch as a woman who had come in AFTER I had was taken before I was, because she threatened to leave. Nobody even spoke to me. Something is wrong there, and I advise you yo go to Nail Envy across the street. It was lovely there. read more

I go for pedicures on a regular basis. What I got here is the equivalent of a polish change and nail clipping. Anything else they wanted additional money for. read more

I am not a yelp person at all, I'm the one who always says "they're busy" or "cut them some slack." But this time was too horrible, I went in for a pedicure, that's all. It was hands down the WORST pedicure I've ever received. They should call it changing your nail polish, except they charge you an additional $5 just to do that?! $45 later, I had my nail polish changed and didn't even receive a pedicure. I'm honestly shocked at how terrible that truly was, never will I ever step foot in that place again. read more

CK Nails is constantly busy so I tend to go very early mornings during the week. I can tell you the every single one of the techs have given me gorgeous shellac manicures, with my last one lasting 4 weeks! Yea, they may not be the most talkative, but if you frequent any salon, after a while, they begin to recognize you and speak to you more. Definately give it a shot for the money. read more

I have been to this salon with mixed experiences. The nail technician who gave me a manicure has been rough before, but today she cut me while trimming my cuticles. This was no small cut, and I am watching to see that it does not get infected. I am not a person to make a fuss, and I've never written a bad Yelp review, but what happened today was unacceptable. Never going back here. read more

I've been having a terrible week and feeling like I have no self confidence and thought a pedicure would help me feel better. It started fine, the technician made a joke about how it's been a while since I got a pedicure (because my polish had worn off all but my big toe). She then scraped under my toenails and piled the junk on my foot (gross) and pointed to it while again making a comment about how long it's been and I should really get a pedicure every four weeks. She stopped the pedicure to make sure I understand this needs to be a monthly ritual (a little pushy, but I can get over it). Then she looked at the bottom of my feet and again made a comment about how it's been too long. She got out a cheese grater and literally started huffing and puffing as if it were the hardest workout of her life. The shop was very busy and my face was bright red, but she didn't take the hint. When she did the lotion and nail painting she kept making comments about how much better my feet looked and made me promise to come back in a month (even if I had the money for a monthly pedicure I will not be back). Long story short, not the confidence boost I needed - two stars because my feet do look better. read more

They did a good job but grossly over charged me and I am pretty steamed about it. They charged me $75 for a shellac pedi with French tips and a basic manicure with no polish. According to their own pricing it should have been 35 +5 (for the french) pedi and 15 for the manicure. Plus I paid in cash which they give a 5% discount. Not sure how that adds up to 75. I even questioned them but they insisted. I left feeling thoroughly taken advantage of. Make sure you agree on the price first. read more

This is hands down my favorite place in Grandview/UA area to get my manis and pedis. For the price, I think they do an excellent job, and are always professional. The massage chairs for the pedis is great! I have also been to Nurtur (as noted in a previous review) to get my nails done and it took FOREVER and did not look very nice. If you are in a hurry, they can have someone do your mani at the same time as your pedi (if they are not busy). The owner is super nice as well! read more

Did a terrible job would never go back. Rushed through the gel manicure in 10 minutes and cut my friends cuticle so badly it wouldn't stop bleeding. When she asked for a discount he told her it was an "accident" and said no read more

This place is very average, but the location is extremely convenient for the campus and Grandview area. I was brought here by a friend, and my experience was significantly worse than the last few salons I've visited. The technician I was assigned seemed very junior - she was painstakingly slow and cut my cuticles nearly to the vein. As she began my manicure I inquired about the cost of a two-color chevron design. She was flustered and asked the tech next to me, who proceeded to lecture me about how difficult the design was, the usual clientele didn't ask for things like that, on and on. I stated that it seemed like a simple design so I thought I'd ask. Her response? "If it's simple then tell me how to do it." Ahh, who needs this rudeness? This coupled with the fact that they're a bit more expensive than some places contributes to my low rating. Go there if you must, I suppose. My gel mani turned out nice. Also there is a $1 fee for credit cards so bring cash! read more

Always rude. Always say there is no wait for a walk in, then when you get there they seat 10 other people before taking you and hour later. This happens every single time I've ever been there. I refuse to go back or refer others! read more

This company needs to be shut down immediately, it is dirty and they do not respect your needs while getting your nails done. My lady for example burnt my hands with acetone as I screamed she was in the back no where to be found as my expensive jewelry was ruined. I then said I didn't want a set because I did not feel comfortable and a co worker took my chair from me. If you do not have workers who are competent enough to preform a full set do not offer it on your services. If I could I would give zero stars but this app makes me give one star. read more

this place is as good as it gets! the people who work here are extremely nice and inviting. it get's busy, so expect a wait on the weekend, but it's totally worth it! my nails always last at least 2 weeks and never chip. read more

I HIGHLY recommend going across the street to the Amelia Nail Spa instead of this dump. I went here because it seemed like your average nail salon where you can get a quick mani/pedi quickly and cheaply. Upon arriving I was asked what I needed done and said I needed a pedicure and a gel manicure. At the start of my pedicure the man held up his sign and asked which pedicure I wanted, I clearly said "the cheapest option." So I finish up my appointment and go to pay and the total is $87.... I was confused but signed my receipt and tipped 15 percent. So just to clarify this appointment turned out to be $100 fucking dollars at a place that doesn't even seem to sanitize their tools. On my drive home I was getting increasingly more upset by this price so I called to see how much their cheapest pedicure was, they said 30$. I politely explained that I had been incorrectly charged because I had asked for the cheapest pedicure. He told me to call back in 10 minutes. When I called back a woman answered the phone and basically told me that I was lying and that i didn't ask for the cheapest pedicure.. I told them that I felt really scammed and was going to write a negative review to which she replied "I don't care." Merry fucking Christmas! I could have saved $25 dollars and while that may not seem like a huge deal, if you want to run a successful business you have to treat your customers well and own up when you have made a mistake. I will never be returning to this dirty, poorly run, and EXTREMELY overpriced nail salon. I also really encourage no one to go here and if you must to be extremely clear on what exactly you want because they will try to get as much money out of you as they possibly can. Rude people and terrible service. I wish I could give it 0 stars. read more

Great staff and very through. Take a book. This is a well known gem and gets busy nights and weekends but worth any wait you have. Told my tech I was headed for the beach and needed a mani/pedi. He added another layer of clear coat to my pedi after my mani was done to "fight the sand". One time I foolishly chipped a nail before a wedding and they fixed it no worries. I often get the simply manicure and mine always lasts at least 10 days and often two weeks with no effort. read more

This is the place for a gel manicure. My manicures from here last longer than any other I've ever had. It takes awhile, but is worth it. I usually just get $40 out of their ATM and that's sufficient with tip. That's about comparable to other local nail salons. read more

I came into CK today after being at 3 other nail salons that were all full due to Easter weekend. They got me right in without a wait for both a full set solar nails and a pedi. Jimmy did a great job on both! He fixed my feet up after a long winter of no care. He did not rush but my whole visit was not insanely long either. He paid attention to the small detail and shape of my nails. He even asked if I was happy with the length/shape. I was very impressed. Will def be back and will ask for Jimmy again! read more

So this was my second time going into CK Nails and this visit today is my LAST...I walked in at 6:05 pm (and they do not close till 7:30). I was not greeted by anyone in the entire place so I signed in and took a seat. They claim walk-ins are welcome but I certainly did not feel welcomed (but it gets much worse). I proceeded to wait untill 7:21 (well over an hour) when a lady came up to me and asked my name and what I needed done. I said I wanted a solar balance or gel nails, whichever she had time for. She then proceeded to tell me that my nails were "BAD" and ordered me to attempt to pry my solar nails off! I just stared at her in disbelief and she said "Go on take them off or else I cannot do your nails there is no time". At this point I was like, "wait...WHAT" and I was thinking why didn't someone send me home and hour ago? and I then said "It is impossible to pry off solar nails?!". She just shook her head and walked away. I said aloud "I am so confused right now" and I walked out. Terrible customer service, I have never recieved treatment like that at ANY salon around here...take my advice... do not go there. read more

If I could rate NO STARS - I would. I was told there would be a five minute wait which seemed realistic, since no one was in the lobby, but everyone was with a customer when I walked in. Then, two women and four preteen girls were pushed ahead of me who clearly arrrived after me. When I politely asked "Am I next? I was nastily told in half English, NO." I tried to make an appointment early in day and they were adamant that they did not take Sat appointments - so it was not a matter of this group having an appointment. There was an incredibly rude woman at the front desk who couldn't bother to check the appointment book where I had previously signed in. After waiting 30 minutes for NO good reason, I almost skipped out of there - unserved. Don't waste your time with these RUDE people. read more

I've been a customer at CK Nails for more than 10 years, since it was located across from the old Giant Eagle. The quality of their work is excellent; but their customer service is inconsistent. If you want high quality nails - this is the best place in town! If you care about customer service - you might want to keep looking. read more

Kind of pricey when compared to their competitors, but I love going to David for a gel manicure. I've been twice now and he does a better job than some of the "boutique" nail salons near-by. No cuts, ouches, or infections. The place is very clean and my gel polish stays on for well over 2-3 weeks. I usually have to take it off around 3.5 weeks just because my nails grow so fast! I recommend to my friends. Pay with cash and you get a small discount. read more

Average at best and after my last experience I won't be back. I had had gel polish out on my nails at another salon. When I came in I said I needed it off and wanted a new manicure. The woman didn't even bother asking if it was gel on my nails and immediately starts trying to just wipe it off after which she decides to say "oh is this gel?" Then she brings over a scalding little bowl of acetone, that is so hot I literally pulled my fingers immediately back out. After letting my nails soak for maybe 45 seconds she begins to scrape the gel off commenting "oh you didn't get that done here did you" and says "if you had it here it would have came off." My question to this is: why would an acetone bath remove gel polish, and after 45 seconds? What are you doing at this salon that it is so "easy" to remove? She then proceeded to tear up my nail bed by ripping and scraping the polish off, instead of taking the time to wrap my nails like other salons. I won't be back. read more
