Ive had some decent services here. Andrew is great with acrylics. But today I had the worst pedicure Ive ever had in all my years. Tony exfoliated the bottoms of my feet with the cheese grater and other sander. Then he took the sander to the TOPS of my feet. I'm 50. Ive had many pedicures in many different cities and states and no one has ever done that before, including at this salon. He literally goes in on my left foot until it was raw in three places. He continues the pedicure as if nothing happened. My foot is bleeding through the lotion and Im looking at him waiting for him to do something. Luckily he grabs the spray bottle. Which I didn't realize contained alcohol. That was it. I used the wet towel to dab the alcohol out of the largest and worst spot, while he sat there. After a while he did get me one bandaid to try and cover the area. It was not enough but I appreciated the gesture. Not enough to tip, for the first time in my life. And not enough to go back. I'm a convert. Never before did I bother with my fingernails before--I mean, they were a real train wreck. It never seemed that important and besides, if I had bothered to apply polish, it was chipped within a day which was worse than the unmanicured nails IMO. In an effort to branch out from my $65 pedicures at Kenneths that were seriously breaking the bank, I turned to trusty Yelp for recommendations of clean, reputable and affordable Cbus nail spots that I could trust. I was looking for a pedicure for my birthday and Polish! had great reviews. You can book online after browsing their menu of services online. They have tons of options to choose from for different price points and I chose their signature pedicure for $40 which was basically what I was paying $65 for at Kenneths. They do offer an option with champagne for more but I'll save that for when money's growing on trees in my back yard. I was immediately greeted when I walked in and directed to shelving in the back that had TONS of bottles for me to choose from. I found what I wanted, sat down and was immediately greeting by my technician, Young, who brought me over to my pedicure bowl. The bowls are wrapped for each person so you don't have to worry about them being properly cleaned from the last person - I greatly appreciated this! The foot massage and scrub was second to none and I felt like I was going through fall asleep it was so relaxing. The service lasted a full hour and was worth every single penny of $40. When checking out, I noticed a sign that said you can save 5% for paying cash. I love little discounts like this! Absolutely 1 of the worst and from my reviews you can compare them to others as I have been diligently looking for a reputable and dependable nail salon in Columbus. I have been hesitant to write another review of another nail salon that provided one of the worst services beyond any other. So bad, it's been over 3 weeks since I popped the last nail off and my nails are still recovering. If that doesn't convince you to steer clear I'm not sure what will. I love having my fingers and toes look top notch! Love it! I enjoy the pampering. I am busy and when I schedule this is my "me time". I have tried really hard to research by reviews, unfortunately due to some of the "great" technicians are booked up and inexperienced techs are given unbeknownst the customers. Atleast that seemed to be the case here. I thought I had officially decided not to get my nails done ever again after last experience, but looking at my mess of nails from previous salon made me want to lol I called to see if anyone was available for early afternoon appt. I was told to come on in. I was seated right away with a young Asian gentleman in the back left side. He did not greet me with a hello, seemed very irritated I was given to him. Mind you there was only 1 other customer in the salon being serviced. My previous nails what was left were dipped so I had to soak. He poured solution and told me to soak. Nothing abnormal at this point. 45 minutes later I was still soaking. Yeah. I started to pick them off myself. My tech seriously had no interest in me as a customer. Finally when the last one came off I was excited as I was pushing for time now. Oh another customer walked in and I guess that's who my tech was waiting for. He made it clear he was not going to work on me and told the girl up front to give me to another tech. Clearly it was not a scheduled appt just a friend. The girl who took over was very kind and obviously new. I've been getting my nails done longer than she and prob he have been alive. She chatted with me trying to break tension last tech had caused - not with me but with other techs. I chose to do the dip again since it is healthier for the nails. She completed the job. Not 1 nail was the same shape, they were actually ugly and looked like nubs but the fact that she tried so hard on top of hoping for the best I also accepted the faith of another crappy manicure just so I could lay on a huge tip for what she probably puts up with here and to make a point to the douche she works with. During my manicure the previous young guy tech who passed me over was having the most unprofessional conversation with his customer/ friend regarding drug use and other very personal subjects I was very surprised to hear from across the room. It was almost like they were sitting in a bar or club per said conversation. Yes he was speaking that loud. Mind you he barely said 2 words to me while I sat at his station for 45 min. Makes me think his customer/friend was his delivery for drugs. 1 hit and he was back to la la laaaa. Definitely not a place for children, if this is the normal atmosphere. If the employee who did complete my manicure reads this, she knows I'm the customer that tipped $15 maybe $20 - I forget but I definitely wanted to make her day since the other tech made the atmosphere very claustrophobic. My nails are severely damaged. Even with the worse of the worse manicure this is the worst. I can't even get another to cover until my nails have recovered. They are split on the nail-bed, sore, bruised, sanded too thin and just a mess. No way would I ever return nor recommend. Pic below is literally 3 weeks after. I stopped in here for a gel manicure and pedicure while in town visiting family. I picked it based on the yelp reviews but I was somewhat disappointed. The pros - the place has a great selection of colors, and specifically no-chip colors. The salon seems clean and it's clear they have sanitary practices in place. Lots of chairs and no wait. The cons - My nail tech! She completely missed the paint on one half of my pinkie toe and did a poor job shaping my toes in general. The calf massage was the weakest calf massage I've ever received. It was also the weakest rasping of my heels I've ever received in a pedicure. She hardly got any dead skin off my heels. She put absolutely zero effort into it. My manicure was not much better. The edges of my nails were chipping off after a few days. This has never been my experience with other no chip manicures. Also I picked a more sheer color and should have gotten an additional coat. That was partially my bad because I was watching the tv and didn't notice until it was too late to ask and she was doing the top coat. Finally I want to add that my nail tech was not the least bit friendly. I don't expect her to chit-chat with me the whole time, but I don't think she said more than 3 words to me and never cracked a smile. Just the slightest bit of warmth goes a long way. I came here for a pedicure because I was long overdo for one. Let's say those feet weren't pretty until now. I knocked this place down a star only because I waited a while to get serviced. They didn't really have a sense of time commitment here. Everything else was fine. Andrew, my technician was really nice. He kept asking if he was hurting me when he dug into my nails but he wasn't. They keep the bowls very clean here for pedicure's they do wrap it with a condom like cover. So you know it's uber clean. They clean all their stuff and replace whatever breaks like mine did during brushing the rough soles of my feet off. Yes, I do admit my feet sometimes feel uber rough because I'm an athlete and workout a lot. Pro's of this place: Cleanliness, nice hospitality, nice atmosphere, and endless choice of color options for manicures and pedicures. Con: the wait time. This can always get better so I won't let this deter me from coming again. I would also like them to be more familiar with things like the 10% off app Yelp had for check-in offer for this place because they didn't even know what it was. I shouldn't have to show them this and explain it they should already be told about it prior to my visit. Altogether the price was very reasonable for a classic pedicure $36 which included, the foot massage, soak in the tub, brushing off the feet and finally polishing those toe nails. I'll definitely come back again and give them another try soon. I went to beauty school and have worked in many salons before and I personally came here to get my feet done... So let me tell you-- I am so so impressed with Polish. The salon is new and clean. I got the tour of the back room and it is the most organized and clean back room I've ever seen. THEY EVEN HAD A UV AUTOCLAVE STERILIZER that a lot of salons in Ohio are not required to have.... All the implements were wrapped in disposable plastic. Everything that could have been disposable was disposable --buffers, nail filers, callus remover (just ask, they have disposable pumice stones and scrubbers in the back) , flip flops and toe separators. Even the pedicure bowls were wrapped in plastic. Jenny and Tony were great. They offer bottled water, soda and tea. Oh, and if you want alcohol, you can either BYOB or pay for the Royal pedicure which comes with a mimosa.. P.S. I'd take a picture and show you guys how wonderful my feet look but there are people who might have the intention of using it for something else.... just take my word on this! read more

Let me just say, Polish is my new go-to salon. I discovered this salon yesterday after desperately needing a manicure since my last visit to another salon left me overly disappointed and dissatisfied. I was in the area when I was searching for salons, and Polish came up. The first impression was enough to make me drive there: the website. Usually nail salons will have a normal website, but there is always a lack of critical information (e.g. Prices, appointment availability, client pictures), but Polish has a phenomenal website with an impressive amount of info (brownie point #1). So I figured I would give it a go--and I'm so glad I did! I called ahead since they closed in the next 30 minutes, but they were more than willing to take me (brownie point #2). When I arrived I was BLOWN AWAY at how beautiful this salon is. Modern, gray decor, chandelier fixtures, a huge open space--it was magazine-esque and was very professional (brownie point #3). I was greeted right away at the front desk and sent to a desk. Amy was my technician and, from beginning to end, she gave me a WONDERFUL salon experience. Not only did they have the biggest array of polish colors I've ever seen, but they also have nail gems and decorations that are available. I was offered water, coffee, or tea while I picked out my color (extra points for service here). I decided to go with a pink, and--being an indecisive chooser of nail colors--Amy helped me out and gave great input. I ended up receiving arguably one of the best natural gel manicures I've ever had. I even got some gems put on because I was feeling *that* great and relaxed. And even though I stayed over 40 minutes past closing on a Saturday, she never rushed anything and gave me a wonderful experience. The overall atmosphere is welcoming, clean, professional, and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and super easy to talk to. I live on campus near downtown, so this place is a bit of a drive. However, I am more than willing to drive when the service is this marvelous. Pros: -Staff--out-of-this-world friendly. Young and energetic and overall service oriented -The salon itself: beautiful decor, modern vibe and atmosphere -Sanitation: Polish is EXTREMELY clean and sanitary. I witnessed the "closing" of the salon, and the staff went through vigorous cleaning and sanitation procedures of all pedicure chairs, floors and nail stations -Price: average prices compared to most salons. My bill was $35 for a natural gel manicure BUT you are paying for the quality you receive -The manicure: beautiful! I've never received such a cute mani, and Amy guaranteed me that if my nails chip within two weeks, I can come back and they will fix it -Overall service: offering a beverage, no wait time, and she paid SO much attention to my nails. I never felt rushed even though I stayed 40 minutes past closing Cons: -A bit of a drive from campus (20 minutes), but again, it's more than worth it -No other cons here, folks! I have been to Polish! many times before and have always had a great experience... until today. During our lunch break I took my friend here for the first time. I've never tried the dipping powder before but was encouraged to try it. My friend and I both requested the dipping powder and my friend need to have them removed. While I was having my manicure done (which is an up charge from the dipping powder prices listed) my friend soaked her nails. She worked on having her previously applied dipping powder polish removed and soaked for approximately 30 minutes before a new nail tech came over (her experience prior at a different salon was 10 minutes tops for removal). He checked her nails and determined they needed more time. He even commented, I hope you aren't here on your work lunch break. He prepped her to soak and then got his stuff and told us he was leaving for lunch! My friend was getting frustrated and said something to another employee, who finished the job and assured us she would be fast and finish within 10 minutes. Her dipping powder nail polish was done quickly and we were eager to get back to work. However once we looked at both our hands in natural light we were super disappointed in the quality of the service. Her polish color was uneven and inconsistent, while mine was thick, uneven and clumpy. I have previously had a great experience at Polish! with standard mani/pedis, but I won't be returning after today's experience. It seems like they are still getting down the dipping powder technique and I wish they would be honest about their experience level with it before offering the service. This is the single, worst nail salon I have ever been to. Several weeks ago, I walked in hoping to be seated relatively soon, despite 3-4 people waiting ahead of me, and was not seen for 75 minutes. When it was finally my turn, the nail tech, completely rushed the entire process - she didn't ask me for a specific nail shape, didn't cover each of my nails with the full extent of nail polish, and i was very upset. I went in the next morning and has my nails redone by Jennifer. This past weekend, I decided to make an appointment with Jennifer, especially since she was able to fix my nails the previous visit. When I had entered the salon, she walked over and was very rude. She didn't talk during the appointment, didn't ask me which nail shape I would like, and when I asked her to trim/file my nails, she cut them extremely short. She also did not completely cover my nail. When she went up to get an item from the back, she stopped at the owner's table in front of me, and talked about me (in English, and I was able to overhear). They were discussing how I was a returning client and was the client who "came in the next day" and how the owner "wasn't surprised." Additionally, the nail tech was very short and didn't appear to be interested in doing my nails. When I had returned to my car, I immediately noticed a spiral black thread embedded in my nail and went back inside. Jennifer walked back, annoyed by my presence, and asked me what was wrong. I showed her the thread and she asked me to identify it for her as she was unable to do so. Then, rather than completely soak my nail and redo it from scratch, she filed off the top layer, applied top coat, placed my hand in the gel drying machine, and then sent me on my way. It was a 2 minutes process. Very disappointed with the lack of proper customer service and professionalism at the nail salon. I will not be recommending this location in the future to people I know. This is where I love going to de-stress every so often. The signature pedicure and gel manicure are my absolute favorites. The last visit I made I brought my 5 year old to join because she had earned a special day. We picked out our colors and she whispered to me that she really wanted rainbow nails but only picked one color. I'm ready to throw down the gauntlet: this is the best pedicure in Columbus. Pedicures are my weakness; I get one about every month or so. I had Polish! bookmarked for a few weeks, and a Saturday trip to the north side was the perfect excuse to try it out. IMO, nail salons usually go one of two ways: *They're really frous-frous, but the actual pedi is just kinda meh. *They're a bit divey but do an awesome job on my feet. Polish (I'm going to stop putting the exclamation point from this point on) somehow manages to check all the boxes. It's really pretty, new, and clean, and the pedi was perfect. If you're OCD about cleanliness, this is the nail salon for you. Here's what I'm talking about: *Each basin gets wrapped before your pedi. It's like a condom for your pedicure! *The jet is magnetic, so they can easily be removed and sanitized before each service. *Every piece used in the pedicure was sterilized and packaged. For example, the callous scrubber comes packaged with an adhesive backing, and it's changed for every client. Then there's the actual experience... man, it was perfect.
