Silver City

Hamburgers and chili always available. Specials everyday of the week. Bloody Mary Sundays and oh my the packer parties. Not overly wild just a group getting together for raffles and a home cooked meal by Debbie! Best part ... the only true blues bar that I'm aware of every Friday. The generosity of this place that supports the community of silver city is admirable. From fund raisers of kids toys at Christmas to chicken dinners in July and oh did I say barbecue and blues festival? Iconic! Anniversary party August 2nd I wouldn't miss it. Nope . Calling into work. Thank you for your time everyone. Give it a try!

The place has a dedicated parking lot which is nice but street parking was plentiful at lunch time. As I walked up a sign in front says Sunday $3.50 Bloody Mary with a Miller light chaser so I guess I'm having the Sunday special now because when in Rome. The place is definitely unique with antiques on the walls and ceilings from a stretcher, bikes pedal cars etc. the bar has a long bar with a pool table and games on the upper level. I ordered the Bloody Mary spicy but Pabst was an option for the chaser so since it's a former Milwaukee beer I chose that over Miller light. The Bloody Mary was as expected nothing special and Pabst is Pabst so your typical neighborhood bar drinks. The menu is small and cheap so I wasn't expecting much but I ordered the $3.50 cheeseburger that comes with pickles or onions, raw or fried so I chose raw. I saw what looked to be a hand formed patty come out of a zip lock bag, the pizza oven was opened up and a sheet of foil was inserted and my burger went in, these crazy mofo's are making cheeseburgers in a pizza oven. You get ketchup and mustard set next to you for when your burger is done. There is a hot pot next to the pizza oven with probably the soup or chili of the day. It's a very basic cheeseburger on a generic white bun with raw onions and generic razor thin pickle slices. The cheeseburger was actually good because it was a fresh hand formed patty that was juicy with a nice beef flavor I thought. It's not super huge so if you have a bigger appetite than order 2 or get the soup or chili. This was a pretty reasonable for the experience of a new place with drinks and a small lunch with the $3.50 cheeseburger, 3.50 Bloody Mary with a glass of Pabst and $3.00 tip which = $10. Look I'm not proud because you could find me in a nice place or a hole in the wall because I like trying everything and I don't discriminate.

Many regulars but they are very friendly and don't shun strangers. The owner Mario is a hoot because he loves to play bar dice for shots. He's an old Italian guy who had some interesting ties to the Balistreri family if you catch my drift There is a cute outside seating area during the summers. Prices are very reasonable for a good pour. Every second Saturday of the month they have a raffle drawing plus meat raffles which is so Wisconsin. Don't come here looking for a craft cocktail because this isn't your place Grab a stiff drink, play some games of chance and meet some very friendly people. It's worth the little drive out of your way to find this hidden gem

It's a local dive bar and clearly a regulars place but they were friendly and said hi as I walked in. No food from what I could tell but one regular offered popcorn from the self serv machine which she says was a good batch this time. I live no near this place but as a local bar and I can see it's charm. I ordered a Gin Rickey and it looked dark after explaining twice to the bartender how to make it and it was absolutely awful because he made it with JB whisky and not Gin, whiskey, seltzer and lime juice with a fresh lime doesn't mix very well at all. My bartender miss heard me and corrected my drink with no problem. If I lived in the neighborhood I would probably be a regular.

All I came here for was mini bowling, and I got that in spades. It was a Sunday night, so two lanes were open with no reservation needed. I opened a tab at the bar, headed back to the awaiting lanes, and proceeded two bowl a couple games in quick succession. Unless you have a large crew, there won't be much sit and wait time, like on a regular lane. Note that it is manual scoring. They do provide a cheat sheet to help with this, and it may help as well to number your frames, just in case you get lost in all the up and down. Since it is residential, you might have to circle the block a few times to find parking, but don't let that deter you. A walk back to the car might be the perfect excuse to stop by the food truck across the street.

Location is a little sketchy, and this is definitely a dive bar at its finest, but the real star of the show is the duck pin bowling located in the back. For those not familiar, it's a much shorter, elevated lane than regular bowling. Select from different weighted, softball size balls and roll it down the lane. It's much easier than regular bowling and scores tend to be high, so it's a nice ego boost and tons of fun! And instead of a machine re-racking the pins, there are teenagers that sit back there to set them up. Tips: Cash only for the bowling which is $5 dollars a person. Make sure to tip your pin setters! Its best to call in advance to reserve a lane, but walk ins welcome. There are four lanes and you can rent one or more for an hour and a half each. They bowl super late, and is an awesome spot to hang out with a group and play a few rounds! Come knock some pins down at this legendary spot!

The place is the typical neighborhood bar with a covered patio for smokers and U shaped bar with a pool table in back and gaming machines. They have 12 taps with a nice selection for a neighborhood bar I thought. As I walked in for the first time I was greeted with a hello by a person at the gaming machine and everyone was friendly and I even got a complement from another person at the bar so it's a friendly place for first timers. As always I ordered agin Rickey and the bar tender had no idea what it is so I had to explain it to her. It looks like frozen pizza is all they have for hot food after watching a woman at the bar get cheese bread from the pizza oven. The TVs were playing a Sunday football game while I was there like most bars on Sunday. It was a nice place to have a cocktail with friendly people.

They've got a nice stocked bar, good choice of micro brews , great tapped beer selection and some pretty good bartenders that can mix up some great drinks!!! Spin a bike tire for a chance to win a drink, a shot, a 1/2 pot of money or nothing. But Spin!! It's a fun 2 bucks to spend!! There are plenty of TVs to watch sports, music channels and the jukebox to boot.( not an actual jukebox but TouchTunes ) They do have drink Specials and Happy Hour. There's an outside space with tables for those that still enjoy a smoke. There is fresh popcorn provided at no cost and they have a mighty tasty garlic cheese bread. And for baseball fans, they have shuttle busses that get you safely to and from the games so that you can keep your party going. Pool tables, darts, slots, plenty of entertainment.
