Matcha and Vanilla Oaty
Analiea M.

This is a pretty cool coffee shop. It's located in studio city in a pretty popular shopping center. We got the Vanilla Oaty and the Matcha. The matcha was nice and subtle, not too sweet. The vanilla oaty was interesting, it had a bit of a salty flavor and it wasn't too sweet either. I'm into sweeter coffee so this was interesting to me. The service is good, the employees are sweet but there was a bit of a wait. It was a busy Saturday afternoon so I'll give them that. Brandon helped us out and he was very sweet. We also got the Blt and it was delicious. It had thick cut bacon and some kind of chipotle sauce on sourdough bread. The ambiance of the outdoor seating area is nice. There's some greenery and lots of seating, very dog friendly.

5 stars, this is a great place, I really like sportsman's lodge. I even see people who used to be my neighbors around sportsman's lodge and even... twitch streamers. You got the luxurious duality of the establishments that start with e Erewhon & Equinox... you also have a cool place that makes good coffee. It's great but not as good as chamberlain coffee don't get me wrong!! Ambiance is good.

Chocolate Chip Cookie and Iced Vanilla Lattes

When arriving, the coffee shop is located in The Shops at The Sportsmen's Lodge. Parking is a small lot located behind the shops when you come off of cold water canyon rd. and Ventura. The parking is free for the first 90 minutes and then after that $6 for every 30 additional minutes. The coffee shop is very small but it gives off a very modern feel, very welcoming. The only things we did not like was the inside being so small, it was hard to tell which way the line went and who was in line versus who was waiting for their order. They had a good selection of baked goods as well as a menu of breakfast foods like burritos, tacos, and chilaquiles. We ordered the Iced Vanilla Latte and the Chocolate Chip Cookie. Our order came out very quick! The cookie was okay, it was softer than we were expecting and lacked a little bit of flavor, but it was an average cookie. The Vanilla Latte was amazing! We loved the vanilla syrup they used, as well as how creamy the coffee was! The only negative thing about the coffee is the amount of ice they use. They were large cubes so it took up majority of the cup and I felt like there were only like 10 sips of coffee. Seating is limited inside of the cafe, but they do have outdoor seating to the left of the cafe. There is additional seating to the right side of the cafe, where other restaurants and businesses are located. Overall, this is definitely a nice cafe. It does get busy in the area on the weekends. Plan to spend some time walking around the shops while you're there!

Went a couple months ago. Service lacks common and basic customer service skills. Cashier was either just unfriendly to us for idk what reason, or is just a miserable person working at a coffee shop. The world may never know.... Coffee was probably 3 or 2.5 out of 5. The location is great though. Parking is also okay. Can be very busy but when you do get a spot, you can validate for enough time to drink your coffee and shop a bit.

I can't seem to move away from Civil Coffee's CORTADO. It's because it is creamy and delicious. Not tart at all. There was no line during this visit and they opened up their glass wall so it feels less claustrophobic inside and you get the benefit of the beautiful outdoor walkways. As I mentioned, no line to order and the wait to get our drinks was minimal. Cashier was friendly and efficient.

Customer service was ass. Soon as I walked in, no greet or welcoming in. Energy low as if they didn't want to be there. And I'm sorry, iced drinks tasted a little watered down smh. Took a sip and threw it out lol

Located at the Sportsman's Lodge shops. Lots of seating on an adjacent patio. Friendly and prompt service. There is free parking for 90 minutes for all shops so you can still walk around or sit and enjoy your coffee.

Review #1083~(Studio City, Los Angeles, CA.)~ I needed a business to inquire about parking validation so decided to support this coffee shop inside 'The Shops at The Sportsmen's Lodge Studio City, Los Angeles, CA., today on 02/08/2025. This happened to just be the place with perfect vibes!!!! Drink~5/5~i ordered their specialty hot latte with Lavender and Oat Milk. I believe it was $6.75 for a hot Espresso drink. Service~5/5~The barista was efficient. She answered my parking validation question that the first 90-min would indeed be on the house!!!! And she took me on a step-by-step approach to ordering the perfect drink which turned out having a bit of a kick to it. The drink may be a tad steep, but i was in a very upscale region of Los Angeles, aka Studio City, so that was totally expected. Drink was tasty and i'm still working on it as i'm penning this review. See you next trip back to Studio City, Los Angeles, CA., 'Civil Coffee.'

Very very rude. It was my first time in this new promenade, and I saw the coffee shop, so I decided to walk in just to take a look. He was tall, curly-haired, and chubby with black glasses. It was Friday at 6:16pm. He was so rude with no manners whatsoever and should not be in customer service. He technically ushered me out of the store, saying, "We are closed, and we cannot have anybody in the store." All I was doing was looking at the coffee display because it looked different. Good luck to anybo

Hojicha latte with almond milk and medium sweet

This vibey coffee spot is in the Shops at Sportsman Lodge shopping center. The servers are friendly and patient by walking you through the options. I was thrilled to see a Hojicha latte as a tea option since it's not on many menus. I opted for an almond milk version. The space is small so it gets a little crowded waiting for drinks but the line moves quickly.

Milky matcha

Great location in the sportsman lodge! However from when I walked in the vibe was off. I asked the guy when I was ordering if the matcha was pre sweetened he said no which is great love that! Then I asked for an iced matcha latte w regular milk and to add extra matcha (I read other reviews on yelp all saying the same thing about the matcha being very milked down and not good and to ask for extra matcha). When I asked a woman working butted in and said it comes with 4grams of matcha how much do you want and I just said I saw online that the matcha is milked down and it didn't look the best in pictures and she rudely said let me see the pictures. Then added that they changed the recipe to 4grams of matcha. So I said ok you know what you're doing and what I like I guess so just do it how you do it (I was so uncomfortable). They were not busy by any means it was a Friday at 12:30 4 people working. Only 1 girl was making the drinks from what I saw and the others were just standing talking. Which valid it's slow but they did still have a few people waiting where they could have had more urgency. Seeing how clumpy this matcha is and what a terrible green color (the picture makes it look darker it's even lighter) I would not come back for the matcha or for the rude woman working. We all have personal preferences which I say a lot in all my reviews. My boyfriend liked the matcha so I gave it to him but he said he only tasted milk as well but he's a big fan of milk so at least it didn't go to complete waste! Only giving 2 stars instead of 1 because it's a great location.

I guess it helps to be surrounded by sweet delights and wafts of sugar-filled cakes baking in the ovens. There's so much greenery, you'll feel your stress levels drop. And that's one of the key ingredients for a lazy Sunday. The only thing to stress me out this time is choosing from like twenty amazing menu options. After debating, nay agonizing, back and forth while waiting in line, I landed on the Huevos Rancheros. The golden crispy tortilla shells add a nice crunch and they're generous with avocado portions. As for the Matcha Latte, it's perfectly frothy. Next up: The Country Breakfast. The pancakes were fluffy & buttery. The cute strawberry banana garnish was like a cherry on top of an ice cream sundae. Def recommend this dish just for the pancakes. One insider tip: Just remember to pack your patience if there's a line. Aroma always draws a crowd just about any time of day (or night). So come when you're feeling a little lazy or wanting to savor the moment with every bite.

During that time, I witnessed this man give every customer some of the warmest, kindest, most friendly treatment I've ever seen. Mike generously answered every question, was patient with a customer's old gift card, and adjusted a customer's matcha when she said it was too sweet. Like, I literally had to look up from laptop a couple times because I was overhearing him being awesome to people. I'm not just talking about courtesy and baseline customer service, which bosses make their employees perform. He was just as sweet to the Door Dash/Uber Eats couriers. There was no figurative "wall" between him and the customer. It all just seemed more personal and like he really wanted everyone to leave feeling good. I know I did. I was really, really cold the entire time I was there, but it's January and I'm in a skirt, so that one is on me. The music kinda sucked but I see no reason to dock a star for that.

Unfortunately I was disappointed by the flavor of the coffee. There was no hint of rose at all. The coffee flavor itself tasted ok but when you advertise rose, you should get that prominent flavor shine through.
