We had an excellent experience with City Sprinter from start to finish. We spoke to about 12 companies and chose City Sprinter for a few reasons. First, they were the most straightforward to work with. Some people had us fill out long complex forms, and/or required a lot of back and forth in order to get an estimate. With City Sprinter, we just emailed them with our dates and a description of our move, they got back to us with an estimate of how long the move would take, then we booked and confirmed everything by email/text. Easy Peasy. Second, City Sprinter offers an hourly rate which I strongly prefer over a flat rate. Companies with flat rates want an exhaustive list of everything being moved, and there is always the risk that the rate can change day of if anything changes, and you won't know by how much. But when you move, it can be hard to predict some things (I thought we would have 20 boxes, we had closer to 30; I forgot about a shelf we had in a closet; we needed help disassembling some things, etc). An hourly rate feels more transparent and easier to manage, and ultimately their estimate was accurate, and the final cost was as good or cheaper than the other companies we spoke to. Finally, they were friendly, professional, and efficient. They took great care of our belongings, wrapped and secured things exceptionally well, and moved quickly. They use a Sprinter van and I was amazed by how efficiently they packed it with all of our (many, too many) belongings. For reference, we were in a 2 bedroom apartment (1 bed, 1 office for two). The size of the van also makes it a lot easier for them to park. Moving in NYC, like many things, is a schlep. And trying to find a good mover is too. Absolutely excellent. A hidden gem. For an incredibly seamless moving experience, look no further. I cannot believe how honest the pricing is for such considerate, efficient, meticulous, and all-around spectacular service. I've been in NYC for six years across four apartments, and this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review anywhere about anything. Rundown: Ed and Andy were prompt to respond to communications, arrived on the dot, and brought all the equipment necessary to move our boxes and miscellaneous un-boxable items. They were so thorough, asking us for an overview of everything that needed moving, which boxes were fragile, etc. After a quick walkthrough, they started moving everything down to their truck. And I mean *moving*. They worked so quickly and quietly. Our entire living room full of boxes was cleared out within minutes. They wrapped our couch, wardrobe, and mattresses. They carefully took apart my mirror (which was attached to a stand) so they could pad it safely as well. Before driving the truck away toward our new home an hour away, Andy even called to update me about routes and triborough tolls. They were extremely careful and respectful about our belongings, and everything was transported up to our next walk-up apartment in perfect condition (they also put everything they had deconstructed back together). Each time I tell my friends about this experience, they immediately ask for more details and contact information. I cannot thank these two enough. TL;DR: Exceptional moving team in NYC. For my first time moving within Brooklyn, I was completely anxiety ridden. It didn't help that the two and a half weeks leading up to my move-out/move-in date I was studying for exams and completely forgot to secure movers! With a Sunday moving day I was able to find these guys on a Friday, and not only were they super quick to get me a quote, they were also BY FAR the cheapest. Andy and his co-worker (so sorry I forget his name!) came right on time and I was amazed at how quickly they were able to move all of my belongings out and with such great care. My boyfriend and I stood in my living room and watched in amazement at how speedy these two were. My jaw nearly dropped when they told me everything was packed and ready to go--so incredibly grateful they were able to disassemble my bed frame and not put me through the agony of doing it myself! With one final look around to make sure everything was packed, we left to go meet them at my new address. Once again these two fellas did not disappoint. Super quick with bringing everything into the new apartment and reassembled my bed frame faster than I ever could. I also just really appreciated the detail in terms of asking me how I wanted my bedroom furniture to be arranged; incredibly conscientious. I had to move my art studio kind of suddenly, and a friend recommended these guys as apartment but also art movers. They were basically perfect... they knew how to pack paintings so nothing would get dented or corners damaged (plus carry them properly not pressing into the canvas), were extremely patient and helpful with working around others in the building (sharing the elevator is not always simple), negotiated multiple floors of stairs in my new building with really tight turn-arounds at the landings and made it look easy. And as everyone has been saying, these guys are really polite, on the ball, extremely professional. I give credit to anyone who can successfully and smoothly drive a sprinter van down Myrtle Ave. in Brooklyn without jostling and damaging anything! I would highly recommend them for studio moves or dropping off and picking up work - they're my new company for all of that. I used the city sprinter movers team moving from West Village to Williamsburg and would highly recommend the team to any family or friends. The team were on time, extremely efficient, assisted with additional wrapping of fragile items where needed and most of all extremely friendly and polite. The van they used was more than enough size to move my 1 bedroom items and caused no issues with parking in side streets unlike the giant moving trucks you see around the city. Unpacking was unbelievably quick and they knew where to place everything with no direction needed, and even assisted with mounting my TV. The move was complete within 2 hours including travel time!!! There were no items broken during the move and my beloved plant even made it safely through the trip with no broken leaves :) All in all, a fantastic experience with a lovely team and they definitely took away any stress that usually comes with a move. After getting a quote, we decided to use City Sprinter because they were reasonable priced. Andy and I communicated via email. I was scheduled for 8am but it turned out that we wouldn't get our apartment keys until then. After freaking out (first time using movers), I emailed Andy to ask if we could do 9am, he responded quickly and said it was fine. They showed up on time, and brought a bunch of blankets, and even a mattress cover! They were nice and we talked during them moving our boxes and furniture. Since my gf and I are paranoid, we actually rented a uhaul and loaded stuff in it also (we weren't sure if the sprinter could fit all our furniture, mattress and 20+ boxes and bags. When we got to the apartment, they moved quickly to get all of our furniture upstairs. They even helped moved the boxes from the uhaul! Overall, they were great. Very organized. Very efficient. Definitely will use them again if I ever move again. read more

I was in a terrible situation last year and had to move out of my apartment overnight with a big 1 bedroom's worth of stuff. Heavy boxes with books and lots of clothes, and a huge mess of packing on a time restraint. I also desperately needed storage because I had to move out mid-month and only had access to my new place on the 1st. City Sprinters was so compassionate about my situation and helped me get out and stored my things even though they didn't actually have room for them. They made it work because they knew I needed the help!! Really good people, and everything arrived in pristine condition and totally okay. The best. Omg where do I start! This is my second time using City Sprinters. Moving is already a very stressful situation but Andy and Ed take all the stress away with their effectiveness. They know exactly what they are doing and they are very fast and efficient. It took me like a week to pack up my apt and they transferred all my belongings safely in their vehicle in less than an hour. They are friendly, polite, calm, and reassuring. City Sprinters are the most professional and forward thinking movers I've ever employed. I've worked moving furniture up flights of stairs and mansions but City Sprinters really know what they are doing. Their crew are patient and communicate well with each other and me. And they had no problem transporting my cargo through different boroughs. Plus their crew is very careful with fragile objects and incredibly strong. For example we had a large desk that needed to be moved up a flight of stairs and other moving companies quoted me with ridiculous rates. Andy and Ed are hands down the best, most professional, and fastest movers that I have ever worked with! They are extremely careful with your items, making sure that all furniture is well protected, and took apart a few items that we had with care (and then reassembled). City Sprinters helped me move from a 5th floor walk up to a 2nd floor walkup in the city. They were right on time and communicated with me the whole time to let me know about their timing, etc. They helped dismount a tv and a mirror and wrapped all of my fragile and loose items like drawers themselves.
