Extremely nice only on the phone, BUT Extremely unprofessional otherwise. First off, two hours late. 1. Three people came, two people take rest while one person assembles the furniture. Probably to extend the time. They charge hourly. 5. Found out all of the above issues after they left & made the payment, so I called and texted them and avoided my call. This is the main reason I'm leaving a review. Hire these guys for your next move--they are great! AJ and three of his workers helped me move across Manhattan in to a 5th floor walkup. I had SO much stuff and they moved it all in less than three hours. Despite my ridiculous amount of heavy boxes and a hot steamy day, they had great spirits and actually made my move fun! My experience with AJ and his company Bright Movers located at 466 East 10th Street NY NY, was the nightmare from HELL!! The owner, AJ told me he had insurance when he came to my house to provide me with a moving estimate. Unfortunately, On the same day of my move AJ told me his insurance didn't go through (now I know why!) and didn't have any insurance, but was still in the process of getting new insurance, and didn't have any on the day of my move, which was a nightmare! Not having insurance, AJ sent me a "promissory" email stating that he would be responsible and pay for any and all damages of my property, including any and all damages in the old and new building incurred by him and his movers, which he obviously didn't keep!!! Not only did he not have insurance, but was unprepared and showed up with a small 16 foot truck to move my 2 bedroom Apartment. He and his crew didn't even have the proper blankets nor materials to wrap and protect my antique furniture, and TV, which they broke & destroyed (irreplaceable). They dropped and broke my 42 inch color flatscreen TV, they either lost or stole my Verizon cable box (which I have to pay for). They ripped the new wallpaper in the building I moved into, which I had to pay. I called AJ and briefly told him about all my damages, and he rushed me off the phone and said he couldn't talk because he was busy doing a move and would call me back and never did!!! I left AJ numerous VM and text messages to no avail. I'm going to try and post photos of all the damages to all my property by Bright Moving Company, the moving company from HELL!!! But I'm not sure I'll be able to upload to post. However, I paid a lot of money to AJ and his unprofessional Movers in addition to having a lot in damages, which AJ never accepted responsibility for. 5 stars just isn't enough to exclaim how great and awesome these guys are. 1st off Aj is super sweet and friendly, he helped me with a furniture move during the first big snow storm of the year, and did I mention that I was in labor. My due date was easing up and I knew that I was cutting it close, but AJ squeezed me in last minute. He did a pick up and delivery all while checking on me while I was in the hospital, making sure that my baby and I were okay. He was able to actually lighten the pain of my contractions (which I assure you wassn't an easy task) with his jokes about how the baby was taking her time to come out because of the snow storm. He checked on my little one and I throughout my entire stay at the hospital. He made what could have been a disaster move easy as pie. My brothers helped him to complete the move, and he even texted me BEFORE they did to let me know of the seamless transition. When in labor and preparing to deliver a baby moving your furniture is the last thing on your mind. I can't stress how at ease he made me feel. I have warm nostalgic feelings as I recall the day my life changed forever. Aj will forever be etched in the memory of the day my baby was born. These guys are really great. I had a tricky situation moving a sofa from midtown to west vill, and had already accidentally antagonized a super at the prior building the day before with two guys who weren't experienced enough, so I had to quickly make new arrangements at 5pm for a 10am pick up the next morning. My friend suggested Bright Movers, and when I called AJ answered immediately, gave me a quote by return email and was helpful and courteous throughout. His rate was very reasonable especially as the second leg of the delivery was a 6th floor walkup. He and his nephew were very pleasant to deal with and I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone. read more

I needed to coordinate a move of very high value items(s) within NY while physically being in California. You can imagine the stress and concern. Even though communications were by phone and email his responses were prompt and precise. I might add the cost is quite reasonable. I am in Manhattan several times a year for work and frequently need reliable movers for tranport of important/high value articles and I am so grateful to have made contact with AJ. We used Bright Movers today to move my son from 34th St. Elevator building To a First Ave. one floor walk up. AJ and his men were fabulous. They were courteous, efficient and very careful. Everything was wrapped , even the mattress went into a large plastic mattress cover. They were reasonably priced. I will definitely use him again. read more

I booked AJ last minute for a job and immediately noticed that he was the friendliest and easiest to work with. On top of that his rates were still below what everyone quoted. Our job involved moving very heavy yet very delicate objects. Aj arrived early and was extremely courteous and friendly. He moved every object into the truck with the care they required and also extremely quickly. We had a last minute change of plans and added an extra stop where we took items out of the truck and added some, also stopping along the way to take out cash- AJ was extremely Accommodating and easy going and gave us no trouble for our change of plan. I used Bright Movers in late August to move apartments within Manhattan. I had read all the rave reviews on Yelp and decided to give AJ a call. He was really nice, extremely professional and was able to squeeze me in during a busy time (end of the month). On moving day, his movers came on time (They were even a few minutes early! I was so impressed!) and they finished the entire job in under an hour. The three movers were very positive, hard-working and trustworthy. They were so careful with my belongings and everything made it to my new apartment in perfect condition. I will be recommending AJ and his company to EVERYONE I know. After contacting many movers for quotes, I decided to go with Bright Movers because of their great Yelp reviews and the fair quote I received for my 1 bedroom move. They moved me out of my old apartment and into a new in a 3rd floor walk-up on Sunday, Nov 1st, and I'm beyond happy with the job that he and his worker did!!! Sunday was the NYC Marathon, so I was a little nervous about street closures and traffic since I was moving from east to west. Despite some traffic en route to my old apartment, the job was done quickly and efficiently. (I did see a review for a broken table written right before I was to use Bright, which is unfortunate. But my reaction is, if you're moving something very valuable, wouldn't you want to wrap it yourself and let a mover know to be EXTRA careful with it?). They used blankets with my furniture, but I was sure to wrap up pictures and mirrors myself beforehand cause better safe than sorry no matter who you use! Anyway, I hope I don't have to move again for a long time, but when I do, I will definitely use AJ and Bright Movers again and recommend them to everyone!! read more

HORRIBLE experience. AJ was extremely unprofessional and impossible to deal with. First he texted every hour or so continuously pushing my roommates and my moving time back, then he went ghost. HOURS later (almost midnight), he said that he would arrive in thirty minutes. Since it was so late, my roommates and I personally did a lot of the moving ourselves to save time. After finally moving into my new apartment at 6 am, I realized one of my bags went missing. AJ and his team likely left it outside, mistaking it for trash. I asked about filing a lost claim and he denied that his team had any part in it and was beyond rude and unaccommodating. read more

Bright Movers was recommended to me by my sister and her boyfriend. They moved me from Hoboken to the East Village, and it was seamless. From the very beginning, AJ was honest and upfront about the logistics and the cost. His prices are incomparable compared to other services. He is efficient and worked quickly. Do NOT hire these movers!!!! They were supposed to move my friend and then us. They showed up five hours late. Not to mention during the time when they were 5hrs late they were not picking up their phone. Then we found out that they accidentally threw out one of our bags and they refused to admit that they did and would not file a claim for it. I recently had to move some wall-mounted aluminum shelving and some freestanding shelving from mid-town Manhattan to Brooklyn. Rob the Mover recommended Bright Movers to me. AJ was friendly and professional. I expressed my concern about the aluminum shelving. It had a soft finish and could scratch easily. AJ and his partner babied it and there wasn't a single scratch. They also had to take apart the freestanding shelving and ended up circling the block before I got their call that they had arrived. Despite this, they didn't up their price, a flat rate that was very reasonable. Moving anything is stressful and from the moment I talked to AJ to the time the move was finished, I felt I was in good hands. I would definitely recommend them. read more

Bright movers are excellent! AJ took the last minute job without hesitation over the weekend and their price is unbeatable. So, this is updated after the move actually happened. I had a pretty good experience, despite the move time being pushed back a few times. I was okay with the first couple of times because I was still packing, but I did want to be on the road before rush hour, which didn't happen, but AJ's guys are traffic gods because they got to my new location pretty fast even with the traffic, and AJ offered to give me a discounted rate, should the move go beyond our discussed 3 hours (It didn't-these guys were fast!). AJ's guys were AMAZING!! They were super friendly, and they had a strategy, and they executed fast. Its so crazy, cuz I moved from an elevator building to a 1st floor walk-up. Which isn't too bad, compared to some people, but still, elevator to stairs, especially for bulky items, never a good time. These guys were LIGHTENING FAST going up the stairs and they even gave me some pretty good placement advice of my bookshelf in the new place, which I followed. AJ Bright and his team were outstanding in every respect. From the first time we contacted AJ through the completion of the move, he was available and responsive, by telephone, email, and text. He responded to our questions and assured us that his men would be there when the move was scheduled. The men were there on time, after calling ahead to inform us they were on the way. They took care with each item and quickly, but carefully moved three rooms of gear down two flights of stairs and into their truck, which they packed expertly. The move was from 26th and Third to 60th and Metropolitan Avenue in Queens. They got there before we did and moved everything in faster than we had expected, but still without a nick or bump. Before we left Third Avenue, AJ stopped by to make sure all was going well. He did not need to do so because his men knew what they were doing, but we appreciated his personal interest.
