Reliance Appliance & Antiques - Wedgewood stove bring repaired Matthew

    Reliance Appliance & Antiques

I'd give six stars if it was possible. This is the only person you need to call. After a…read morerecommendation from a colleague, I called Matthew to service 2 Wedgewood stoves in 2 apartments. He was punctual, knowledgeable, kind, and reasonably priced. An all-around win! Months later I had another problem (I moved the stove to paint a wall and knocked things out of place). I called Matthew who patiently walked me through the process of locating reset buttons and adjusting misaligned tubes, fixing my issue over the phone, right there and then. I wholeheartedly recommend Reliance Appliance to all my gas-stove-having friends, and to strangers on the internet. As the youth say, "No notes."

I was aggravated, for we have had the range serviced several times, yet every year or two, new gas leaks would appear. I was getting ready to give up on having a vintage range, for though I had been promised that it was built like a tank and would work forever with maintenance, I was tired of paying for nearly annual visits to address new fails, each time after wondering for a couple of weeks if I was imagining the gas smell before calling PGE to verify that yes, I am smelling gas. On this visit Matt came out to fully address the repeated fails, far more thoroughly than my previous experiences. He ensured that quality parts were utilized, that the knobs were rigged so that they wouldn't cause fails, and ingeniously weighted the oven door so that it will stay fully open or shut; previously springs had been upgraded, but after a few months the door would creep partially open, so that oven temp couldn't be maintained. The stovetop and oven work better than they ever have in our 13 years of living here - the knobs turn smoothly, the gas comes out more fully and cleanly, the oven holds temperature, and best of all, no more gas leaks, and I believe that this time the repairs will hold, since Matt was so thorough. Matt said that he will stand by his work and ensure that this range continues to operate safely, which I appreciate, since I realized that at this time I'd really rather not have to re-wire the kitchen to accommodate an induction range.

I normally go to another spot on University but they were closed on Easter Sunday…read more Since it was still early, made me way on San Pablo and noticed this spot. Parked in front since I was unaware of rear parking. Arrived and only 1 other person washing. Noticed I had to download an app (another one to add to the list) and it was a breeze. I did observed an attendant who was busy with the shop vac cleaning out the dryer vents as well as doing loads of laundry. The area is maintained cleaned and no machines out of order. I did run into an issue and approached the lady who I observed cleaning. Catherine when asked her name reset the dryer since it went crazy after trying to add more time. She reset it and asked me how everything was going. Guess it was obvious it was my first time. Lol Highly recommend and great place.

    ## Review: The Laundry Room (Berkeley & Oakland, San Pablo)…read more I've been to both Laundry Room locations--Berkeley and Oakland--and funny enough, they're both on San Pablo. I actually ended up at the Oakland one by accident (directionally challenged over here!), but I'm glad I did because both spots are equally impressive. Over the past year, I've dealt with housing instability, which means I've spent a lot of time in laundromats across the Bay Area. For me, keeping my clothes clean is a way of maintaining dignity and stability when life feels chaotic. Right now, I'm staying with friends and doing laundry for their whole household every week, so I've become something of a laundromat connoisseur. And let me tell you--The Laundry Room chain is hands-down the nicest laundromat experience I've had anywhere. ### What Makes Them Stand Out - **Top-notch machines**: All brand new, spotless, and seemingly sterilized daily. - **Attendant always on-site**: Unlike most laundromats where you have to call a number and wait for help, here there's always someone present, constantly cleaning and keeping everything in order. - **Cleanliness**: No moldy, grimy machines like you find elsewhere. Everything is sparkling. - **Amenities**: Bathrooms for customers (rare in laundromats!), free Wi-Fi, flatscreen TVs with live sports, and even free coffee. - **Atmosphere**: Chill enough that I once brought in some fried chicken from down the block, and no one batted an eye. ### Practical Perks - **Parking lot in the back**: Huge plus in the Bay Area. - **Machine sizes**: No super-small washers here--the smallest is a medium, starting at $5. Perfect for big loads. - **Neighborhood extras**: Right on the block you'll find two fantastic Mexican supermarkets and a fantastic Arab market (house made baklava!) all of which accept EBT. ### Final Thoughts After visiting laundromats all over the Bay, The Laundry Room has become my go-to spot. Between the cleanliness, amenities, and friendly staff, it's a five-star experience every time. Whether you're in Berkeley or Oakland, you'll feel comfortable doing laundry here--and maybe even enjoy it.

I…read morehad an existing gate that was set up, strictly on a solar panel with batteries when the weather got bad cloudy days or when the solar panel got too much pollen on it or just got dirty. the gate would be super slow and it just wouldn't work. I had finally decided it was time to switch it over to a electric gate with battery back up. Ron understood my needs perfectly. He told me he would have his son Shawn Call me to discuss exactly what I needed done requested that I send him. Some pictures pictures were sent. SHAWN got back to me promptly told me what he felt was the best motor for the job which was a LiftMaster, which was a name that I'm familiar with as I've had LiftMaster garage doors for many years never had a single problem so I'm sure there reliability carried over to their GATE motors. Other companies have come out to give me a bid you'll see in the pictures attached below the existing motor they all told me that they would need to come and pour a concrete slab to mount the new LiftMaster motor that would take a few days and it definitely increase the price immediately just by looking at the pictures Ron had a different plan. He was able to have this plan because he has master welders part of his installation team, they thought outside the box and said now this will be a quick and easy job. You already have two posts that are sunk in the ground for the existing motor so on site they fabricated and welded a tray and then welded it to the two existing post so you'll see the new motor is suspended above the ground which I like better anyway kind of keeps rodents not wanting to go in there and just keeps the whole thing cleaner when I'm blowing out, unable to blow underneath it leaves and things their installation was on time because of the welding and not having to pour a slab they were in and out one day they painted the old gate they tested it. They provided me with three remotes and two keypads. I would not hesitate to call them again in the future for any other needs specially because their ability to think outside the box, manufacture, and weld on site. Shawn is the Son. He's the one that you'll do most communications with definitely very knowledgeable follows through calling explaining and made sure to let you know that they'll be there to stand behind the product and installation the entire warranty. And beyond in needed. Great family operation don't hesitate to give them a chance to assess your situation. LOCAL GATE SERVICE Ron & Shawn two thumbs up Five stars
