I normally go to another spot on University but they were closed on Easter Sunday. Since it was still early, made me way on San Pablo and noticed this spot. Parked in front since I was unaware of rear parking. Arrived and only 1 other person washing. Noticed I had to download an app (another one to add to the list) and it was a breeze. I did observed an attendant who was busy with the shop vac cleaning out the dryer vents as well as doing loads of laundry. The area is maintained cleaned and no machines out of order. I did run into an issue and approached the lady who I observed cleaning. Catherine when asked her name reset the dryer since it went crazy after trying to add more time. She reset it and asked me how everything was going. Guess it was obvious it was my first time. Lol Highly recommend and great place. read more

The Laundry Room - Nice place and well maintained - Laundromat Near Me - Berkeley, California

Best wash n fold in Berkeley at a fair price fast and friendly staff with long hours

Super clean, there are a lot of machines, even on a Sunday they're were lots open, the app is super user friendly and lets you monitor time on multiple machines. It's great if you're running errands or taking a walk. Staff is friendly and keeps the place in great order. The neighborhood has a lot to offer as well. Win win win. read more

## Review: The Laundry Room (Berkeley & Oakland, San Pablo) I've been to both Laundry Room locations--Berkeley and Oakland--and funny enough, they're both on San Pablo. I actually ended up at the Oakland one by accident (directionally challenged over here!), but I'm glad I did because both spots are equally impressive. Over the past year, I've dealt with housing instability, which means I've spent a lot of time in laundromats across the Bay Area. For me, keeping my clothes clean is a way of maintaining dignity and stability when life feels chaotic. Right now, I'm staying with friends and doing laundry for their whole household every week, so I've become something of a laundromat connoisseur. And let me tell you--The Laundry Room chain is hands-down the nicest laundromat experience I've had anywhere. ### What Makes Them Stand Out - **Top-notch machines**: All brand new, spotless, and seemingly sterilized daily. - **Attendant always on-site**: Unlike most laundromats where you have to call a number and wait for help, here there's always someone present, constantly cleaning and keeping everything in order. - **Cleanliness**: No moldy, grimy machines like you find elsewhere. Everything is sparkling. - **Amenities**: Bathrooms for customers (rare in laundromats!), free Wi-Fi, flatscreen TVs with live sports, and even free coffee. - **Atmosphere**: Chill enough that I once brought in some fried chicken from down the block, and no one batted an eye. ### Practical Perks - **Parking lot in the back**: Huge plus in the Bay Area. - **Machine sizes**: No super-small washers here--the smallest is a medium, starting at $5. Perfect for big loads. - **Neighborhood extras**: Right on the block you'll find two fantastic Mexican supermarkets and a fantastic Arab market (house made baklava!) all of which accept EBT. ### Final Thoughts After visiting laundromats all over the Bay, The Laundry Room has become my go-to spot. Between the cleanliness, amenities, and friendly staff, it's a five-star experience every time. Whether you're in Berkeley or Oakland, you'll feel comfortable doing laundry here--and maybe even enjoy it. read more

The Laundry Room - The Laundry Room - Laundromat Near Me - Berkeley, California

Lovely place, expensive, bathroom doesn't work, attendant was not able to solve Dexter pay problem. Had to walk 4 blocks to get cash out if ATM. Don't rely on payment system. read more

I mean this place is just awesome I can't say enough good things about it. I will say there's one tip and that is that there's parking in the rear. There's a parking lot back there and there's a rear door. You just have to drive down an alleyway to get there. read more

The Laundry Room is in the perfect location, and the app makes the whole process quick and seamless. Super convenient and hassle-free every time I use it. read more

the place is fine the parking is awful. they have a pretty good sized parking lot that is ALWAYS full when there's only 3 people actually inside the laundry room. people just park their cars there and go to the restaurant and store on the same street. read more

Wow! ! ! Cleanliness of this laundromat is top notch. It's well taken care of, it smells really good, and the machines work well and seem to be modern / new. Please take the time to come here for your washing and drying needs. If I could give this place a 10 I would. Best Regards read more

The Laundry Room - Washing machines that work very well! - Laundromat Near Me - Berkeley, California

Clean easy to understand machines, the app was very easy to use, nice customers. It would be good to have more of those carts, but not that big a deal. Vending machines for snacks and small boxes of soap would be nice, but maybe it would take up too much floor space. read more

Great laundry mat! Always clean & machines wash clothes really well. The app is a nice option to pay instead of requiring quarters (though that's still an option) and there's some seating around for while you wait read more

The washer and dryer were working well, they went quickly, I liked that there was a discount for your first time. Sure it's more expensive than other places, but I feel like for the location, and the ability to go to any of the cute cafés nearby, as well as having them work consistently, and be clean? worth it. it was quiet when I came on a Tuesday afternoon, pretty peaceful, and I felt totally safe and comfortable. I also appreciate that this place has washing machine that can handle larger loads, so I was able to be more efficient with my laundry. The fact that there was a free parking lot, meant that I wasn't paying for metered parking, which made up for any extra expense for the washer. My laundry doesn't smell strongly of intense detergents. If you have to go to laundromat? This is a good place to go. read more

Update on more frequent use of wash & fold: they've lost 2 of my socks (1 individual sock from 2 separate pairs), and last time paired one of them with someone else's sock. I've also gotten a number of shirts back folded the wrong way (inside out, or with the sleeves folded inside the shirt), so I've had to re-fold. That has taken some of the value of the convenience of drop off and pickup for me and I'll be looking at other options in the area that are maybe more expensive but also more consistent in delivery. read more

Clean but somehow a blanket was burned and ruined..the app also overcharges you and that's a bummer.

** there is parking in back!!! It's free!!! ** Used the DexterPay app and ended up getting my first load free with a promo code! Very neat. read more

August 7, 2023 11AM-3PM I stopped everything I was doing to write this review. First red flag was any time a Hispanic person came up to buy soap the man working today (8/7/2023) would give it to them for free but if another race came to buy they needed to pay. He did not do that when the owner came checking on the washers being fixed but started up again after the owner left. I waited by the front window to buy bags. I made eye contact with the man working but he continued his personal conversation with the 2 repair men. After 3 or 4 minutes and we locked eyes several times, I said "Can I get some help please" he asked me "what do you need" like I was interrupting his personal time. He walked over to the trash bags and started giving me old ones that were clearly used. I politely told him the bags he was giving me was out there by the woman at the washer close by. At that point she came over and grabbed her bags from him and he walked away with me standing there still. I walked over to him confused.....I asked him again if I could get some bags. At that point he gave me 4 bags for 4 dollars. He put the money in his pocket. After this he went back to his conversation laughing and giggling. The worker he was speaking too was walking out the building to the parking lot openly digging in his nose. I politely asked him if he was going to wash his hands. HE NEVER WASHED HIS HANDS. I just left out of there to see the owner and the 2 repair men talking at the table. I tried to wait to speak to him but he seemed busy. I've been a loyal customer for 8 years, whenever this man is working he does crooked things while working. I st read more

It's a small parking lot, but the place is clean and people are friendly. You can choose coin or app pay which is convenient. It's about 1 mile from the campus of Berkeley and the other direction is the marina. The place is clean for a rundown building but machines look well maintained, I give it 5 star but parking sucks if you have a car read more

The Laundry Room is great! We've been going there for wash & fold services for months now and never had a bad experience. Every employee is super friendly and helpful and the prices are very reasonable. They have a good turnaround time on their services and I appreciate that they give estimates that are reasonable; I've never had anything ready later than they promised, but often have had things ready early. Most importantly - our clothes are always super clean and nicely folded! I have sensitive skin and they use hypoallergenic detergent that gives me no problems. They have a fabric softener option that's very nice and smells great, and if you have a preference for how to wash things (cold water, tumble dry low, etc) you can have a note added to your account for future trips so you don't have to ask every time. read more

So I had to be in the neighborhood and do a load of laundry. So awesome that there's an app to operate the washers and dryers. No need for cash or credit card. Although it would suck if the app is down. So be prepared. Pretty clean and spacious. It is busy or maybe I'm here at peak time! 10:30am on a Saturday! Parking is tough but there is a lot in the back I think if you can find a spot. read more

This place is so clean! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The machines look like they are brand new--there is definite pride in ownership. They also have an app to pay if you don't want to lug around five pounds of quarters. read more

The staff are not friendly or understanding if you have lost your money in the machine. Mean. Unfriendly. Rude It is insulting to be accused of lying I do not recommend any place if its not a healthy/safe environment. It may be clean, but the way I was treated was very mean I will go somewhere else if I need to wash again. Wash your things somewhere else. There's lots of laundry facilities this area I haven't ever yelped anything negative until now. read more

They don't have hot water but don't advertise it anywhere in the laundromat or on the machines, and refused to give a refund when all my stuff came out cold. The worker there told me they never have hot water because the hot water heater is broken and "everybody knows that." Refuse to do a refund or anything about it. Will never come back here again. Huge waste of money and time. read more

The cleanest laundry mat by far around. Very reliable and great service from amazing staff and management. They have created a great flow for the customers to come in and have a smooth experience. Very clean, newer washers & dryers that take either quarters or convenient pay by app. My go to place, for sure. This review is about the noise from a monitor advertising the new water system they installed a few weeks ago. It has a continual advertisement blaring about it's features. Apparently, the owner is the only one with a volume control for this monitor. There are also 2 TV provided for entertainment, but with the added advertisement monitor, it's difficult to hear the TVs. Since this is all for the customers, please mute the ad. read more

The free wash offered for signing up with Dexter app is a total scam. I put in the promo code , it says $7.00 discount, pay now $1 then when I pressed pay now I was charged $10 on Apple Pay . The employee working there said there was nothing she could and that Dexter pay puts a $10 hold that should be removed in 5 business days. That was not posted anywhere and the Apple Pay shows the money was sent to Dexter pay so I'm out $10 for my "free wash". I would not recommend this spot . Too bad because it is clean and lots of machined but no support from app or facility if things go wrong. read more

Very clean, well stocked with all the amenities needed. The workers are friendly and keeps the place very efficient. Also, it's high tech paying via mobile app. read more

I really liked this laundry place. The entire facility was clean and well maintained, there was bill changers and not too packed on a Tuesday, mid-day. There is free parking In The back and coin parking in the front. The only reason I gave it 4stars is because there is limited folding room and compared to other laundries I have been to, the prices are a little higher. Regardless, great spot for a wash! read more

First, I'm happy to share my washing machine is now fixed, done so by your's truly. Having left a scathing review of how not to do a laundromat, I felt a responsibility to highlight a location that does it right. The location is clean, relatively spacious, most machines work more times than not. There is always a staff person available, and for those who like, they offer laundering services. And the patrons are generally polite and pleasant. And there's decent parking and things to do near by if you don't want to just sit around. It's not 24 hours so make sure to get there before last wash. read more

Clean place, new washer/dryers, good for leaving laundry to be washed/dried/folded, attentive staff.

I've been to three different laundromats in Berkeley and this is by far my favorite one. The machines all work and there is always at least one staff regularly maintaining the place. I also appreciate the social distancing set in place, which other guests follow and respect. read more

Clean place but gets hostile quickly when busy. One spanish speaker occupied all the lower priced machines instead of using a large machine. This forced the rest of us to wash small loads in expensive overly large machines. Would have been cheaper for her to use the larger machines but instead she tells staff she'll call the police on me because I complained. The staff translated and also informed me the police speak spanish and I don't. What sort of threat is that? Hard to find a laundry cart when the staff uses all of them for customers paying them to do their laundry. So if you have a small load... go elsewhere, especially if you don't speak Spanish. read more

Clean, friendly service, nice machines. Safe. Plenty of spots next door to drink and eat while waiting.

pretty clean. pricey. very pricey bring your own everything only thing they have for free is the little push carts for your clothes. "industrial machines" not equipped for really anything industrial size at all are 11$ a load and the smallest machine is 775 a load. but the dryer is only 25¢ every 4 minutes. but they have a pay by phone option if you download dexter pay which is pretty nice. works very well not buggy. does take an authorization charge for the dryer though of 10$. if you're looking for somewhere you can leave your clothes and walk away though I recommend this spot. very good area of berkley and not far from many businesses and places you can buy cheaper soap and stuff real close by. read more
