Gone to the laundromat quite a bit. The prices are a little bit lower here and the man who owns it is very nice. It's usually not crowded.

Quick and easy. This place makes doing laundry an actually enjoyable experience. It has everything you would need for washing your clothes, including rolling carts to carry your load, plentiful benches to fold it, an ATM, a coin change machine, a detergent dispenser, some newspapers to read and local ads to check out while you're waiting. Feels like a community place. They also have free WiFi inside, password is posted next to the dryers. The pricing was 3.25 for light cycle on washing machines on the right side, and 4.50 for washing machines on the left side. 25 cents extra for normal cycle, and 50 cents extra for heavy. I didn't quite catch the difference between the $3 and the $4 machines and washed my clothes for $3. The light cycle lasted 27 minutes, which had me worried that it might be a tad short, but my clothes was satisfactorily clean when I took them out of the cleaner. The dryers were 25c per 6 minutes. I really liked that time intervals are this small, which allows the customers to control how dry they want their laundry to be. Part of my load needed only a quick run in the dryer so 6 minutes was enough, while all the heavy cotton clothing took about 24 minutes to dry. So that was $1.25 for the dryer and $3.25 for a light washing load amounting to $4.50 for the full experience. Disclaimer: it's not a good idea to leave your laundry unattended, but if there's nothing much valuable washing in there, there is a cafe across the street, one block to the north, called "Nomad". It's probably one of the friendliest cafes in the area and deserves another recommendation. This cafe serves tasty sandwiches, coffee, and free wifi. So if you don't want to sit around in the laundromat, you can wait there for your laundry load to be done and surf the net while you're waiting. read more

The owner Kamal keeps it legit! Very nice man who always keeps the place clean and stocked with reading material. He even has books for kids! Regular Washers cost $2.50 and the high end ones are $3.75. Dryers are 25 cents for every 8mins. There is a change machine onsite that takes $5, $10, $20 and even says $50s but I've only gone as high as $10 LOL. read more

This laundromat is relatively clean, super convenient, and has functioning washers and dryers. I have to always remember to bring quarters because their quarter dispenser never works and always seems empty, or out of service. This place need to get a decent, rugged, reliable quarter dispenser. It would be a good idea. It's a huge inconvenience for customers to go on a hunt for quarters at near by stores. read more

Very clean laundromat. Conveniently located on the corner of Shattuck and Alcatraz. There is plenty of free street parking and several bus stops. The attendant is super helpful and did I mention that he had the cutest dog? There's also free Wi-Fi in case you are there for a while. They also have a shelf full of books that you can read while waiting. It has a change and a soap machine in case you might need either. read more

I appreciate the laundromat's availability during all the shutdowns. I especially appreciate that they had detergent for sale since I was dumb and forgot my own. I do wish the overall prices were better. I may have spent something like $30 doing 2 loads wash and 1 load dry. And then the dryer door kept coming open while it was running, and I didn't know what to do. read more

I had been doing laundry at my apartment building in Berkeley, and the clothes just weren't getting clean (or even fully wet) in the washer, so I decided to try out a local laundromat. EZ Laundry was not the closest laundromat to my home, but the Yelp reviews looked promising, and I didn't want to mess with half clean, half damp clothes so I made the trip. There are a variety of washer types, from top loading ($2.00/load) to front loading washers of increasing size ($2.75 and up). The machines all seem to be pretty new, and my clothes got clean :) for cheaper than I'd been washing at home. There are change machines inside, as well as the option to buy individual detergent to use there. The clientele are respectful and the employee is kind. I will probably be back, unless I locate an equally good laundromat closer to home. read more

As others have mentioned, this place is under new management and is now totally awesome. Clean (like SUPER clean), not crowded (even on a weekend), reasonably priced, and the owner is quite nice and helpful. Also: free wifi that actually works?! I'll be back! This place has done a total 180! For a couple of years this place was fine but then the owners obviously gave up on it and it turned into one of the most depressing/frustrating places to do your laundry (broken machines, no one in charge, general sketchiness), but I came here cause it was closer than Washingtown. Then it closed for about a year, but man! The new place is great. It's cheap, it's clean, it's not too busy, it's everything I want from a local laundromat. It's nice to have it back, and way, way better than it was before! read more

I'm done with this place. I was going here for years but finally got tired of dealing with all their broken machines. And they are not marked "out of order" so I ended up losing several dollars. The last straw was a few months ago when I paid almost $8 for a wash and the machine broke down halfway thru. I was in a hurry a few weeks ago so gave it another try. Put quarters in 3 different dryers before I found one that worked - and it wasn't that hot. I'm here today with a friend -I warned him but he didn't believe me. He tried the same three dryers - there weren't many available- and they are still broken weeks later. And no "out of order" sign. Can't afford this place anymore - I lost about $11 my last visit. Dryers are constantly broken and "dry" the clothes with only air -- no heat or "low heat". Sometimes there are signs on the machines warning against this, but most of the times there are not. I normally wouldn't leave such a bad review, let alone one on a community laundromat, but I'm disappointed by how much time and money I've wasted on having to have to move my clothes over to a working machine and spending twice the money than I should have to. read more

The man who owns this place was very helpful and has a lovely dog. The change machine works well, and it's even easier to ask the owner for personal bill to quarters exchange. Washers start at $2.75 for 1 load washer and go up to $7 for the 6 load washer. Dryers are $0.25 per 6 minutes, which is on the more expensive side, but they are nice dryers. All new and functioning machines which was much appreciated. Not very packed, but go before 1 or 2pm on the weekends. Close to a nice cafe, corner store, pizza joint, and not too far from mexican food, the starry plough, and other options while you're waiting. read more

Just back from a first visit and can confirm that the facility is a credit to the neighborhood. New washers in various sizes, from small household size top loading agitator machines to full size large industrial grade front loaders, ideal for bedding, duvet covers and matteress covers in bulk. Price for a wash vary by capacity of machine. Dryers are also new, coin up and plentiful enough to serve normal traffic. And Sam, the premises guardian, is indeed, quiet and observant, comes over to sniff a hello and then is not intrusive while you wait for your machine to finish. An excellent choice for north Rockridge and Telegraph/Temescal and southeast Berkeley. read more

It's still a bit pricey, more expensive than Washingtown, but hey, it's just around the corner from my place so, can't beat convenience. I love this place. The washers and dryers are all pretty new - they have new top loaders that seem oversize to me but are only 1.75. The owner is cool, takes great care of the place, is almost always on site (with his equally cool dog) and will chat you up or leave you alone, depending on your mood. And to top it all off, it really has the feel of a neighborhood business. Oh..and don't be hurt if the super calm and friendly dog brings his face right up to yours but doesn't lick it...he's that way with everyone. (The owner will explain if you ask him....) read more
